I was a tech on the Minuteman II missiles back in the 70's. By far the most important job of my life. Thank you America for letting me do it.

That is incredible. Thank you for your service in the nicknamed "horror". My grandfather worked on the nuclear planning programs in Washington in the 60s. He had fought in WWII and helped strategize in Korea.
From what he would say, which was far less than what he wouldn't say, it was always closer than anyone ever knew.
The Soviet mentality was always, sacrifice the majority for the good of thr few, or the one. America had a completely incompatible doctrine then. So the whole thing was walking on eggs on top of eggshells.
The USSR just changed formal names, but they will always sacrifice most of their people for a few to survive.

It is such a poor commentary on humanity that we survived one Cold War, merely to enter a much warmer cold war. I guess, as a whole, humans never forget until a new generation takes over.
Complacency certainly came back to bite the world once again, and again, and again. Guess it'll be over when the line is finally crossed.

Why does this channel blur certain scenes?. It can't be because of scenes where there's dead bodies!, I've watched enough WW1+2 programmes on YT where dead bodies were shown, So it can't be because of YT guidelines!, So WHY?. It is just ridiculous that scenes are being blurred out, It ruins the programme
