Very cool Simon, I have two questions. Do any of these boards include a lithium-ion charging module? Also is there a way to program/compile the firmware and then upload via Bluetooth?
Hi James - No I don't think I've seen a module that includes a li-ion charging module - I you have a project in mind I'd just get one of the TP4056 modules with the included cell protection circuitry on it. As for updating over bluetooth - I wish! Unfortunately you have to buy the programming module and the Bluesuite software is getting hard to find also.
Excellent video. I've got a module with Qualcomm QCC3005. When I connect to it using my Android phone, it doesn't show "phone calls" on the menu. When I have a voice call while I'm connected to this module, the call is not output via the speakers connected to the module. Is it possible to enable phone calls?
I want to add a pairing password so my neighbors can not connect to my module with their phone. How would I go about adding a pairing password to the module?
Hello, I have bought 2 KRC-86B Bluetooth modules from different vendors and both have terrible audio quality, for some reason the bass is almost non existent... did you notice this as well on yours?
InTnMnNmAz Most modules don't seem to require a code. However, whilst I have not attempted to do it I believe it might be possible to set this with this software.
InTnMnNmAz: I would imagine it would depend on what's available as changeable variables. The programming tool Simon is using is showing the values that are stored in the EEPROM module. Pretty slick, overall. If you wanted to get more functionality, I would imagine it'd not be very difficult to completely reprogram the chip with new firmware. Not sure if you can use Arduino IDE or other to do the reprogramming.
amazing! i tried to conect a ttl-usb adapter PL0323 to my bluetooth headset with RDA 28 pins eeprom chip. the bluetooth headset have only gnd tx and rx. i tried to connect with OVC3868 software however the doenst seems connected . do i need to connect a 3.3v battery to the ttl-usb adapter ?do i need to disconnect the internat battery of the bluetooth headset? please help!!
I saw your videos well. I am sending a message because I think you can solve my problem now. Krc-86b module is being used. However, it is hard to find a way to change the Bluetooth name. Please tell me how or how to change the Bluetooth name. I will wait for your reply. Thank you.
The wiring for the KRC-86B is covered in the "instructable". Follow the link in the video description for a step by step guide. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I have a project where I am going to use the CSR8645 and I want to set volume limit to it because most amplifier will clipping at maxium volume. Is there anyway, I can set volume limit to this chip. Waiting for your reply.
Sorry I'm not able to answer your question. It depends on the version and firmware, sometime this option is present and sometimes not. You have to just connect it up and hope!
I often use my bench mounted magnifying glass which has a ring light incorporated into it. A steady hand and a fine tipped iron is also required. I hope you manage to succeed!
@@PowerOn- i put that on the backburner until seeing a darieee vid the other week, where he mentioned the little pogo pin bench thing..got one and hooked it up today :) Have you looked into doing/adding custom sounds to these chips?
Hi, thanks for your videos, very helpful. I have to rename a CSR8645 (the 6.5 volts version, this one: www.amazon.com/KNACRO-Bluetooth-CSR8645-Amplifier-Receiver/dp/B074FTCY9T ) I do get how to connect: MOSI→I CLK →K CSB→B MISO→O I’m quite confused about all the others connections. I saw you used a resistor, but I can’t see where you connect it. Could you please help me? Thanks a lot
thanks for video :) Now I'm trying to get information on programming CSR and using PIO. may be Qualcomm will give access to information.. But it's not like programming! :P
Nice! Thanks - I've been meaning to program a KRC-86B and the damn chinese seem to spell everything as NC nowadays 🥳

Hello,
great video by the way.
But I was wondering if we can reprogram it in Transmitter mode as my application includes it as an audio transmitter.?

I wonder if you can change the startup sound
Is there a way to change the audio prompts? For example, the pairing mode, can I put a custom mp3 or something on it?
Did you got the method? I want to change audio prompts
can this be used to change the sounds? i would love to change the sounds to ones from windows 11, thanks!

Hi, I have the same board. Since yesterday it shows me at connecting CSR BC7. I don't hear any more sound. What could be the error?
Do these BT modules have a secure connection capability so only the intended user can connect?

That module is covered in my instructable. Have you gone through it? You will find a pinout for this module there. Thaks for the comment 😀
I want to learn how to use csr8670 usb-spi
how to turn it into a transmitter?
Nice
How to set dsp with qcc3003? Please help me
Can I factory reset the stored BT device, so I can reconnect another device to the chip

@@PowerOn- Can you tell me that is the option called? I can do research for it.
its possible with any spi programmer?
Sorry, i don't know. Im guessig when I say there is probably some propriatery issue in the dongle.
i still dont know how you manage to solder to points that are 0.8mm apart, they are so damn tiny

Its not programming. Its only change settings...
I guess the difficulty of changing these settings it feels like reprogramming!! Thanks for the comment though.
