I wanted to learn this song so bad when I first started playing guitar. but the chord shape was way too challenging for a beginner like me. I ended up giving up after struggling for a few days. I’ve practiced a lot ever since. Now I feel more comfortable with the guitar. Then I remembered this song. So I came back to this video and somehow I didn’t find it difficult any more. I seriously couldn’t describe the joy I felt. I just wanna tell anyone who’s feeling frustrated or want to give up. Just keep practicing! You might not make progress instantly but your hard work will pay off in the end.
I don't think I have the right hand placement/technique even for just barring the second and third strings with my index finger in the very beginning :( his finger is so straight and mine just doesn't bend that way lmao
@@chrisl3193 if you don't play it exactly this way its perfectly fine. Just use whatever free finger you have or change your angle of attack. Just twisting your left wrist makes a world of difference. You can do it
@@freedomgunsandliberty Thank you :) I know having skinny fingers isn't an excuse haha but the more fleshy parts just don't go down far enough. The wrist moving down makes a world of difference though, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it with enough practice

Everyone who sticks with guitar for a while can relate to this. Happened to me with Blackbird by the Beatles. It seemed impossible, and I didn't try again for about a year. No better feeling than being able to finally play that tough song
This is the first time in a while where my legitimate guitar experience took over, after he explained the first chord, i just started playing the song, and progressed to the next part without even watching the tutorial on it, and i played the whole song by memory, and by ear. Im genuinely impressed with myself.
@aleksandarkovacevic7699 with experience you'll be able to know which chords make you feel a certain way, or the way each chord sounds, and be able to connect that with the song to identify which chord comes next. In time anyone can learn to do that as it will just come naturally. Really it's like learning a new language.

It was on this channel i discovered my love of music and can play almost anything just by listening (does take time tho). Im 17 now, able to watch your videos once and play the whole thing. @@daponygang You should start with songs that have beginner chords and easy strumming patterns if you haven’t yet. Just build up from there, it gets so much easier when you know the rhythm and your left hand can transition faster. You’re not dumb, every beginner starts from somewhere 😁 good luck!

Crazy how I started my guitar journey 1 year and 8 months ago now and this was one of the first songs I tried learning when I first started. Back then reading tabs and finger style for me was something I had never done before so I gave up on the song quickly. In the time since then I’ve learned tons of songs, wrote my own, and currently trying to learn music theory. I had some time today before my class started and decided to give a crack at this song. Surprisingly I managed to learn just about everything in this short time. It’s exciting really being able to pick up songs this quickly and just goes to show how much practice and commitment to playing comes a long way
Mate this is a fantastic format. The chord patterns on the left are so helpful. Much easier than the verbal descriptions of positions given by some tutors.
He asks you to because it’s actually easier, those two notes are all you need for that specific part, if you used two fingers would be a bit harder as the actual chord

@@nkechietudo7325 you'll have to endure for about a week until you get calluses on your fingers or you can search up how to get calluses on your fingers to help with trying to get your fingers calloused. I know how much it hurts when you first start playing but trust me it will get better and will feel rewarding when you finally learn a song on guitar.
Been practicing for an hour now, you can use your pinky, works for me then I used my 3rd finger like in the video. Getting better but choppy lol hope this helps! Keep trying I know it's difficult sometimes
When barring the 2 strings turn your pointer finger to the side a bit so the strings aren’t on the squishy part of your finger. They will ring out better that way.

So when you turn your fingers to the side you can feel that it is more boney feeling then pressing your fingers flat down on the stringers. So what I Like to do and I know others do this too is turn your finger towards the side so the harder part is pressing down. It will definitely take practice and it did for me too and still is hard for me. I hope this is better explanation!
Start with some easier tabs on Ultimate Guitar Tabs like happy birthday, jingle bells, etc that do not require you to hold a chord. They are truly easy and best for beginners. You get some quick progress and start understanding frets. Once you get a few easy ones down, learn some chords and then try this again. It will make a night and day difference for you.
For Bm and G I just press down the 3 strings that need to be pressed down. That makes it really simple going from Bm to G as only the index finger needs to move one fret over, everything else stays the same. Really simple.

I've only been playing for a little but what helps is turning your elbow toward the guitar, putting your thumb behind the third fret and near the middle from up to bottom and using the bony part of your finger aka the side

hey can you please teach me how to play the f sharp major in the intro I can't play it at all
I've only been playing for a little but what helps is turning your elbow toward the guitar, putting your thumb behind the third fret and near the middle from up to bottom and using the bony part of your finger aka the side

Literally picked up a guitar today beginner and man is the change in the intro hard. Im struggling to get my index finger to barre the 2 chords while getting my ring to reach that 4th string
It’s rly hard for me to reach the 5th fret on that A chord part so I just play the high E open and it plays the same note incase anyone else was struggling like me (Ik I’m trash)
