      Chances of minimizing that are slim to none. The only things they can really improve is changing from nuts and bolts to some kind of quick connect system. There simply aren't a lot of ways to keep the compact setup while speeding up the rail setup.

    In fact, its need too much heavy machine, a container mover, a crane, a wheel-loader and you need 400v external electricity to deploy it, 4 mans, and a mega flat area.
    Need to be more auto deploy, more easier, more placeable.
    Maybe with a battery pack in the middle for auto deploy, less solar panels for not use a football stadium, and can be put directly with a truck container crane or back loader.
    It's very good, but i don't understant ho is the customer for that type of mega structur. it's take a full parking aera for a festival. compare to a 3.5to trailer with a Caterpillar Gens.

    Gute Idee, gut umgesetzt!

      Noch besser wäre es, wenn das Container quasi als Drohne mit Propeller fungieren und zum Einsatzort fliegen könnte. Dann könnte man z.B. bei schattenwerfenden Hindernissen den Container mehrmals am Tag je nach Sonnenstand "umfliegen" und so die maximale Ausbeute an Solarenergie haben.
      Vllt. könnte man die Propeller so konstruieren, dass sie sich im Stillstand drehen und als Windkraftanlage fungieren können. So könnte man Solar- und Windenergie gleichzeitig nutzen.

    this seems way over engineered. And you need a motorized trailer, a 120T crane, a front loader, a boom truck, a flat bed, and 5 workers? It seems like more work to layout half a kilometer of rail and assemble a motorized conveyor than to simply just unload the panels by hand. Why not make the container self deploy? Have it crawl along and unfold itself.

    • @patrickd9551
      @patrickd9551 3 месяца назад

      Quite simple actually. You would need to over-engineer the entire solar array structure in order to do so. Either you have a beefed up, over engineered rail system, or you need to have an over-engineered beefed up array structure to account for all the bumps and holes in the ground. You would need to have automatic leveling feet which are expensive and heavy for each ground point.
      The entire reason you need to have a 120 ton crane is because the total weight of the structure is 30-40 ton. Even if the system got more mobile, you'd still need a crew of at least three to handle the weight responsibly. Additional the amount of power these systems generate is no joke and you need experienced electrical engineers to work and validate those systems.
      To simply put, the engineering put forward in this system enabled them to put as many solar panels into the container. As a downside they require a larger (not by much) crew and an expensive crane. I do think they put some thought into the economics of this system.

      @timderks5960 10 месяцев назад

      @@NTM2009 Ah, you meant plug it in to the grid, I thought you meant plugging the individual panels together / connecting them to the inverter.
      Your "issue" really is a non-issue though. Either temporarily run a generator, if you're in a really remote location, or just run an extension cord. These things aren't meant to be some miracle device that's an all in one setup, they're gonna be a part in setups that have a generator and battery. Newer generators come with battery banks these days, so the generator can run at optimal power when under low load and charge the batteries at the same time, saving fuel and reducing noise. Add this solar array to one of those generators, and the generator has to run even less, again reducing fuel consumption and noise.
      People should really stop seeing issues and look for solutions instead. Pretty much everything can be solved. Instead of just saying "this sucks because of X", how about "X seems to be an issue, maybe that could be solved by Y".

    • @NTM2009
      @NTM2009 10 месяцев назад

      @timderks5960 that is an all in one setup, it has the inverters on it already so no need for generator, or even batteries if your not storing power. Have done a couple systems where there is no power supply on site other then the panels and inverters sending power out, no incoming power and not going to run generator up to them every time they need opened and closed. Put a couple batteries in the system.and they couple work all in their own.
      Also generators are better to run near max output then at low output. Running near max will make them most efficient and last longest

    • @merendell
      @merendell 9 месяцев назад +1

      That motor is probably only a couple of horsepower tops. Looks like its just moving a section of chain belt that grabs a tab on the bottom of each panel segment and pushes it along and is only connected to at most 2 segments directly at a time. At around 3kw of solar per segment there's really no reason the workers couldnt unfold the first segment by hand and use that to power the motor to unfold the rest. even if your only geting 50% of the rated output of the solar thats still enough to run a 2hp motor and your available power will just go up as segments unfold. You could also probalby jump start the system off a couple of car batteries or any portable power station capable of a couple of KW of output for a minute or two After that like I said there's more than enough solar avalible if the sun is out after a few segments are exposed.

      @@whyomgwhywtf Shelters don't weigh 40 tons, nor do they contain delicate components. Just because there is an example out there that can deploy without a crane, doesn't mean it can be applied to any situation. Military shelters are designed to be banged around, be abused by military personnel and are generally installed on a location which permits driving vehicles around the premises. This is a totally different application. Also I would like to know which military shelter can be (semi-)automatically deployed to a width of 50+ meters.
      Most military units these days come in containers, which require some form of unloading, either by crane or forklift. And I would really like to see a container forklift working in a grass field, but that would be an impossibility as 4 wheels will dig into the ground once you load 40 tons onto the tines. Equally so for a roll off container. You still would need to drive that truck into the field, place the units and drive away without completely destroying the field. Good luck with that. You could of course install driving plates, for which you need another truck and a smaller crane to place those plates, but also kind of defeats the purpose.

And before you comment you can place temporary driving plates. Sure, you can, but you would also require a truck, a small crane and an additional crew to do so.

Unloading the container could provide a few easy kits to install in a garden, that can be lifted by hand and installed with an easy battery + connector system (probably just a few power outlets) for the emergency need.
      This is for something else.. Something very specific, and definetely not for disaster responders. the 30 mins to "unfold" is not the 30 mins installation. That took several hours and a lot of heavy machinery as you can see in the vid.

    Sure, it takes 27 minutes to unfold it.
    But there is no timer or number for how long it takes to place it, build the rails, and all that.
    It's a cool product, but as others have said, make it more easily deployable and not requiring external power to deploy it.
    Another thing is that every other panel is angled away from the sun, so being able to angle them individually after deployment would be great.

      Fully functional up to wind speeds of 74 kph without any further ballasting.
      With ballasting or rails bolted to the ground, even higher wind loads can be withstood.

    I guess this would be cool for like say ultra rich party's or like a fair ?? Not sure where else this would even remotely make sense with the amount of room u need and then the cost of cable to run it to inverters.

  • @ursthuer

    Das Prinzip ist gut aber es würde viel einfacher gehen ohne noch Hand anzulegen. Heute gibt’s Ultra leichte und dennoch stabile Materialien die eine solche Konstruktion um ein Vielfaches vereinfachen würde

    seems overly complex for what it is, why not just stack the solar panels in a container and also stack some mounting frames. Unload the solar panel mounting frames using a crane truck and drop, expand in place, then use the same truck to drop the panels on the frame. Fewer parts none of the complexity of rails, takes about the same time and uses 20-30% fewer parts. I have even seen the whole system in a single container, batteries, inverters the lot, the panels are lifted and installed using a winch built into the container.

      Does labor really matter though when you're setting something up that's gonna stay there for a minimum of weeks, probably months, and potentially even years? It's not like we don't build houses because it's so labor intensive... Also, compared to building a permanent solar array, the labor is virtually nothing.
