Why no one ever brings up the fact that he eats curses. Curses, which are explicitly said to be all of humanity's most negative emotions. He carries all of that inside him. I'm not saying that was the only reason he turned evil, but SURELY all that negativity would drain even the most optimistic pacifist?
That was my thought on it, especially when our introduction to young Geto was talking about how no one understood how horrible it was for him to have to keep swallowing all of that every day. He was poisoned every time he swallowed one, and there was no one doing anything to help him purify it or anything to make it easier. Even Toji wouldn't kill him, because he recognized how much was in there and had no idea what would happen if it all came out -- well, it all came out. Just figuratively, first.

I just don’t understand why he didn’t just take the girls lol he didn’t have to murk everyone. Also, idk that Geto even really has time to think about Toji like this. Since we see Tojo knock Geto out, then the next time we see Geto is when he walks in on Gojo carrying the girl’s corpse. So to say it happened in part due to Toji “beating” the 2 of them…all he ever sees is Gojo after blowing Toji apart. He never even thinks about him again…which I always thought was weird.

I wouldn’t say Geto was evil. He started with a good heart and strong principles. But as the manga and anime have shown, he was slowly crumbling and it didn’t seem like Jujutsu High did anything to intervene or counsel him. He was more broken than evil. I personally don’t even blame him for the direction he took…. Every day he was ingesting disgusting curses and risking his life because he thought its what Jujutsu is meant for…. In his final moments he did tell Gojo that despite his hatred towards the weak he always loved the people from Jujutsu High and considered them his family ….. overall great villain with great writing…. (This was his reason in the anime. In the manga, he had a different reason.) His other personalities however more or less wanted to kill all humans. Also he didn't have much time left aince he was dying from some disease.😮

Man writer is so amazing the way he executes the story plots, which are really perfect for characters' development and story as dark fantasy, which is believable. Geto was someone who believed "power comes with responsibility to protect the weaks," while gojo believed "power is something that allows one to see the world differently,which responsibility becomes burden", and after hidden investory arc incident the perspective developed and lead them in a new way in different direction
Very true but it's kinda sad that we never really got see Getos full potential in jjk, he didnt even fight the sorcers with All. He was killed off to soon, Apparently gege never really though about Getos backstory till after jjk0 and by the it was already too late to show his strength. After watching the first five episodes of sea 2 of JJK, I totally see why Geto became so evil. He was very conflicted and questioning his beliefs. I don't agree with everything he's done, but I'm intrigued by his character. He's very intelligent, skilled fighter and misguided. Can't believe that whole village expected him to kill those two little girls. Glad he didn't and adopted them. Plus failing his mission to protect that one girl probably pushed him over the edge. Even Gojo admitted he himself wanted to kill those cult members.
The two curse spirits in the village are Mimiko and Nanako's parents, and the villagers killed their parents, because they were not killed by a warlock, so they will become curse spirits, just like Naoya Zenin (comic spoiler). Regardless of whether it is the death of the Haibara or the curse spirit that appeared because the villagers killed the jujutsu sorcerer, all problems are caused by non-sorcerer. Coupled with the fact that there are two girls who are about to be killed by the villagers, assuming you are Geto, it is hard not to choose to protect the same kind instead of a sorcerer. Before, I saw a lot of people saying that Geto was weak/not persistent e.g. Geto once said that he should protect the weak, and also called Gojo don't killing Star Religious Group believers and so on. In fact, at that time, Geto couldn't find the object she really wanted to protect and the meaning of killing non-sorcerer, and her face lost her smile. When he found the purpose and meaning, he was no longer confused, and in order to create a world that protects the jujutsu sorcerer, he unswervingly subdued the curse spirit (stinky rag) until he could laugh from the bottom of his heart.

We can't forget losing the positive influence of his friendship with Gojo. GOAT-jo became the strongest and started getting sent on solo missions all the time, as did Geto. They lost touch and Gojo was now clearly "the strongest" when before they were both considered "the strongest"
It makes me sad how Akutami wasted his character potential. His relationship with Gojo and their past arc is peak JJK in writing. I can even argue why he is better than Maki as a character.
This arc is about to be soooo damn good. I started reading the manga cause I loved season 1 so much and kept hearing people hype up Gojo’s past/shibuya arc. Needless to say, this is gonna be one of the best arcs in shounen history. Hype, emotional, and insane plot twists. Strap in anime onlys.
I’d like to think because Geto never got Rct down, that his ability ended up corrupting him more than anything. He has a very strong effect but because he literally has to consume negative energy and it’s said that cursed energy starts from your gut I think so to not fully understanding his technique it negatively impacts him. Thus once defeated by Toji it all settles. I also want to add something I don’t think we understand Tojis pact. I think the reason he gives off such low energy is because his cursed energy goes into his body enhancing the body’s capabilities. I think this is what allows him to go to heaven because he is technically a cursed user it’s just the Zenin clan that roasted him and called him not a sorcerer. And because sorcerers use negative energy would that not make them negative people, meaning by toji eliminating them makes him a positive character?!?

This arc is about to be soooo damn good. I started reading the manga cause I loved season 1 so much and kept hearing people hype up Gojo’s past/shibuya arc. Needless to say, this is gonna be one of the best arcs in shounen history. Hype, emotional, and insane plot twists. Strap in anime onlys.

I’d like to think because Geto never got Rct down, that his ability ended up corrupting him more than anything. He has a very strong effect but because he literally has to consume negative energy and it’s said that cursed energy starts from your gut I think so to not fully understanding his technique it negatively impacts him. Thus once defeated by Toji it all settles. I also want to add something I don’t think we understand Tojis pact. I think the reason he gives off such low energy is because his cursed energy goes into his body enhancing the body’s capabilities. I think this is what allows him to go to heaven because he is technically a cursed user it’s just the Zenin clan that roasted him and called him not a sorcerer. And because sorcerers use negative energy would that not make them negative people, meaning by toji eliminating them makes him a positive character?!?
