Skamba kankliai 2015 LINAGO Instrumentinė ragų sutartinė (Birch bark trumpets)

VDU ansamblis "Linago" pučia tradicinę lietuvių liaudies instrumentinę ragų sutartinę kasmetiniame Vilniaus folkloro festivalyje "Skamba skamba kankliai", šįkart sutartinės papuošė Bernardinų sodo takelius / Traditional polyphonic wooden horn melody from Northern Lithuania performed by folk ensemble "Linago" at annual Vilnius' folklore festival "Skamba skamba kankliai". The birch trumpet (Norwegian: neverlur, Swedish: näverlur, Latvian: taure, Lithuanian: ragas, daudytė) is a type of natural trumpet made of spruce covered with birch bark, known in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus. They are associated with the early European Chalet culture, where it was presumably used to intimidate predators, frighten supernatural enemies, and convene council meetings. The neverlur, as a natural horn, thus has no fingerholes or valves. The oldest recovered näverlur in Sweden dates back to the 10th century, and resembles earlier bronze trumpets.

In Romania in the Carpathian Mountains, in Apuseni or Moldova region we have the instrument and it is called, "bucium"

Nah, that's just how the instrument sounds lol. It's beautiful but not exactly harmonious.
