Tim, I’m not sure if you read these comments, but I have a qualm with your blowgun. First of all, let me start off by saying this, I am a huge fan of yours and your videos. And I really want to love the blow gun. Before I purchased yours, I have made several homemade blow guns that have been extremely accurate and powerful. But after watching your videos, I pulled the trigger and purchased one of the Cold Steel Slockmaster blowguns. The quality is great. The issue that I have is with the tolerance of the skirts on darts vs the inside diameter of the barrel. If the darts were .5mm larger in concentric diameter, they would be perfect. But they’re just a tad too small, and if I load one up and tilt the barrel down slightly, the dart just slides out the end. And if you try to let the dart rest in the rubber part of the mouthpiece to hold it in place, there’s not a human alive that can muster up enough lung strength to dislodge it and sent it down the barrel. So I had to do one dip of powder coat in a fluid bed on the 1st 2” of the barrel to add enough concentric mass to get the dart to grab without it sliding out. If you’re only shooting horizontally, it’s not an issue with the stock blowgun. But if you’re shooting at any sort of downward angle (from a tree stand or blowgun fishing) the dart will slide right out of the barrel. Perhaps I got a “lemon”, but I actually called the tech-support number and spoke with a lady who told me that she believes that’s how the darts fit into the barrel, and there was nothing she could do about it. So maybe you can tell me if this is a fluke, or if this is common. Because on all the videos I’ve ever watched you using your blow gun, I’ve never seen your dart just slide out of the end if you point down at an angle.
I’m so glad someone can live out my dream for me 😅 maybe one day I’ll be out there in the woods like you one day love the vids I hope you don’t ever stop Tim
I would love to have these opportunities! Congrats Tim! Until i can do hunts like this myself i live vicariously through your channel. I have taken to blowguning small game and enjoy myself that way.
Man this makes me think of the stories of my dad deer hunting and hog hunting in Illinois in 1970s with spears, throwing spears and atlatl darts and blow darts too. He hunted rabbits too with atlatl and even big snow geese and Canuck honkers. Of course my dad was a crazy Vietnam war vet and didn't give to shits about hunting seasons or mans laws. He donated a lot of the meat to friends and family and the elderly farmers and folks too.
what are you talking about? We can hunt.. We can own S.A guns.. Australia cant, UK cant, NZ cant... Our laws are fine and our wilderness is the best in the world for the Americas, better than Oceania, better than Europe by infinity. Better than many African countries due to their overhunting
