Oh man you NEED to check out Yungblud. He's one of the big Brit artists bringing emo pop punk back. He mixes genres a lot with some rap thrown in but it's much more punk in origin. Check out his live stuff especially, his live shows are mental and he started as a proper grassroots artist who built a following because noone wanted to sign him as he was. Try Loner (Live at Reading); Hope For The Underrated Youth; Original Me; Casual Sabotage (Vevo live). Also on the drugs comment- if you listen to his verse he actually sings 'you take drugs to let go and figure it all out on your own, you take drugs on gravestones' -which is a comment very much not glorifying drugs but saying he gets why people use them but that when you do you're walking that line between 'enhancing' yourself and destroying yourself. He's someone who puts message before all else when making music.
Thank you for this feedback. We will definitely check out his other stuff.
@@Spiritsmusicwa yes!!! You guys would really dig his style. Gotta look at all of it tho. Old and new
Hes about as emo as panic at the disco is emo which is not emo at all lol
There’s literally no such thing as emo pop punk.
Christian Peters tThank you! These kids are the reasons we get dirty looks and people assume we cut ourselves when we say we listen to emo lmao
yungblud is a British alternative musician, he's much more in a rock direction than rap, very influenced by older British bands. I would really recommend checking out "hope for the underrated youth" "parents" "Loner"
MGK really struggles with his mental health, and was always an outsider growing up, same with yungblud who also talks about his experience with Adhd in his music
You should check out MGK's new song "Bloody Valentine" from his upcoming punk-rock album produced by Travis Barker. And Have you listened to Falling In Reverse's Emo-Rap? I remember from an old video you said you like Ronnies voice.
We'll check it out for sure.
@Josh derp haters gonna hate it's pop/punk rock
@Josh derp its pop punk, and its really good pop punk
And check out “The Break Up” and “Why Are You Here” by mgk
Or their champagne supernova by oasis cover
Yessss deff do this too!!
Sam Rohloff yes this is so good
Their Paramore cover too!
Yes!!
You should definitely listen to more yungblud and mgk songs. They did a champagne supernova cover together
i think mgk is experimenting in this genre which is cool because he's always been versatile, i mean he has elements of rock throughout his career, hopefully he does get better vocally in the future. would be dope to see mgk hit an octave higher because he does have naturally deep rapping voice,
I completely agree. You explained it really well
He's had issues with his vocal chords in the past, take what you get.
@@autumnkay1877 true, maybe its the reason he has had chest pains in recent years?
I think he’s gotten better in terms of singing
I think that's exactly why he "needs" Yungblud in his songs. Their voices go together very well and Yungblud's vocal ability covers for MGK's shortcomings. Still, I think he's better in that department, on his new album.
Fun Fact apparently Yungblud came up with that verse in literally 5 mins or less while freestyling with MGK for this song. The track was done, Yungblud went straight into the booth and spat those lyrics.
For anyone who doesn’t know MGK went on warped tour for a few years and grew up on this type of music as well as his rap background
MGK grew up loving this kind of music and has openly expressed admiration and inspiration from the punk rock and emo genres. That's what I like about the dude is his musical talent is inspired by the variety of genres he himself listens to.
Idk why people can’t understand this. Every concert he does a punk song
Yungblud is kinda just yungblud, he does rock punk and rap all like together? He's really cool and I can see you two liking him tbh
@Josh derp well, this was random 😂 hope you have a good day though, my dude
I'm sorry but y'all are literally seth rogen and Tim the tat man
Haha don't be sorry.
Hahahha wow
I would love to be Seth rogen fs
Wait.. i can't unsee that now HAH.
I swear Riley and Mikey from American Chopper are the same person haha
The fact Yungblud and MGK have multiple emo style rap songs together and or covers
That Yungblud sounds a lot like Bert from The Used, I like it.
Check out YUNGBLUD, “Hope for the Underrated Youth”🔥
Yungblud is an incredible force. I have filmed 3 complete concerts of his for my channel, as my son and I go to see him every chance we get. He is the first new artist I have found since TOP hit the scene to make something new/unique/compelling to carry the Emo flag into the future.
That's so cool that you share those experiences with your son. Sound like a great Dad to us. Thanks for sharing this.
As another older fan I’ve also said several times. That I could adopt and raise him as my own too
"Drown myself in alcohol"- 'I like that.' "You take drugs to let go"- 'I hate that.'
Yeah but the line was “drown myself in alcohol; that shit never helps at all” and that’s when he said he liked it.... or at least I thought it was then lol bc why say it just at “drown myself in alcohol”? Lol kinda a standard line. But I think even in the second line about drugs it’s said more in that way too.... like he’s using drugs to try and feel happy or whatever but it doesn’t help him to feel okay. That’s how I took it anyway.
I think he just meant the opening into the back of his head looking into the glasses. They are watching a video after all.
Dizz Dizz, you nailed it on the head!
Love the message you spread after the video . Respect
Thank you so much. Welcome to the spirits family.
So glad the band is back together! After watching the actual video 4 or 5 times in a row, I always have to come back to watch y'alls watching the video of it a few more times. Y'alls commentary makes this video equally enjoyable as the original. Keep spreading positivity fellas!
Wow, thank you so much, fam! We really appreciate the kind words, and supportive vibes! Hope you have an amazing holiday!
Yungblud is a UK singer/lyricist with a big push on equality and togetherness of young people especially. Hes a really good guy from what it looks like!
Love this reaction video. Genuine insight into the genre and how pleased you both were to hear how great the song was!
Thanks so much for the feedback.
i think parents, loner, and doctor doctor are good songs to get to know YUNGBLUDs music he does all types of genres and is great at them, amazing reaction so happy you liked the song
I’m glad you guys popped up in my recommendations!
Thank you so much. Welcome to the fam.
the first time i heard this song, i remember saying to myself, “this makes my 2007 emo myspace heart sooo happy” 💚✌🏼😉
This reminded me just HOW MUCH I love this song yessss
Love the way they don’t stop to talk they talk through the video
Do you actually or is that sarcasm? Thanks so much for the feedback!
YUNGBLUD mixes emo, alternative, and hip hop with some dancehall vibes
that ending message abput people jumping pn emoism as a fad supports a lot of us younger emo/punk introverts and people who bully me acting and puting on a mask and then turning back to their high horses once its over
If you are ever being bullied that is something that we 10000% speak out against and if you EVER need anyone to talk to please message us on our band facebook page and we will always be here for you to talk to. You are wonderful and you have worth. DO NOT let people who are insecure with themselves bully you into thinking otherwise. Thank you so much for the view and keep your head up. We are here for you!
Just found this channel and have been binge watching a ton of videos LOL loving it
Thanks so much fam!
Yungblud is an amazing writer and singer. He's not a rapper he's an alternative artist :)
It's all rock to me love it all.
The reaction @2:56 is gold
It caught us by surprise! That was both of our first times hearing Yungblud and that part is KILLER!
@@Spiritsmusicwa keep rocking out guys! Love the vids
This is a really meaningful discussion
Fun fact: MGK was gonna have a 2nd verse.. yungblud came thru and dropped that verse in ONE TAKE and it made it in. Wild. So talented!!! This is so incredible!!
I’m loving yalls vibe. You got a new subscriber.
Thank you so much! Welcome to the Spirits family!
Listen to bloody valentine or his cover of misery business, he's also currently making a pop punk album that should be out in a month or 2 called ticket to my downfall with Travis barker
Misery Business cover for sure!!
You two are great on camera and strike me as really genuine people, I really like this channel and your music!
Thank you so much fam! We appreciate that a lot!
@@Spiritsmusicwa I'm happy to hear that! If you want to react to something you probably haven't heard of, then you should check out the song Revolt by The Dreams, the song is in English and the music video is on RUclips. They were a Faroese/Danish punk rock band and one of the only groups to contribute to the local emo scene in Denmark back in the day. It is not mainstream and I doubt your audience would know about them, so maybe it is not so popular to react to, but you can still check them out! My favorite song is called "Himlen Falder/Helvede Kalder," give it a listen!
One of my fav songs. MGK scared me for a sec but he has grown on me. Love this song.
What a gem the RUclips algorithm has lead me to here. Looked you guys up on Spotify. Dope band 👌
Dude, that means so much to us thank you so much!
Loved this video! you guys have such a cool vybe :)
Thank you Val! We appreciate that a lot!
Just found this channel and I love it!
Thank you so much! :)
Yungblud is and MCR 2000s emo kid hence the MCR vibes he’s awesome. I love the kid
Absolutely LOVE the comment about bullies from the past. I was never into the emo look, but never would i judge someone from that. Love the music.
Thanks so much friend!
The end sort of reminded me of MCR "Famous Last Words" with the instruments fading out behind melodic singing. Both awesome tracks.
Totally agree. Thanks for watching. We actually have a cover of FLW that we did on this channel. Feel free to check it out.
I love u guys!!! I agree with everything u guys said. Keep strong!!! ❤
Thanks so much fam!
MGK's new song Bloody Valentine is also awesome. It's part of the album he has been working on with Travis they decided to do after working on this song.
He's non genre defined he doesn't want to put a label on his sound he said.
@Josh derp lmao
@Josh derp stfu josh. You fuckin cat turd collector
Josh derp not really.
Josh derp hey bud, you see how you didn’t get any support or likes on your reply? Take that as some advice :) shh now
@Josh derp sthu derp Yu sound like a twerp and a Stan
10 years of rapping 4 studio albums mixtapes and EPs all say Yu are uninformed
I was an emo kid back in the day and still am honestly, and listened to all of it. I listen to everything now and when MGK made this new album 😍 love it and did not expect it from him. His vibes were just spot on and it honestly made me go back to high school instantly
Totally agree. Feel free to check out our music. We have some of those emo vibes too. :)
great video. yungblud is worth the listening hes a great artist and great person🖤
I would love to see you react to Hope for the Underrated Youth by Yungblud
Yungblud does punk rock mainly, he does music like this. Machine Gun Kelly has been releasing Rock songs lately that are called Why Are You Here and Bloody Valentine. Hes also coming out with a full rock album called Tickets To My Downfall
Great review. I like this song too
Thanks so much Kim!
Brutaaaaaal🥁🎸🤘🏻
You know the best thing about this video - you didn't fucking pause it every 15 seconds to talk. You sat back and took the music in! Great reaction vid.
Thanks fam. We have people request us to pause and we try to tell them the same thing. Much love!
@@Spiritsmusicwa Love it. Fair play guys. Much love.
Much love to you fam!
Yungblud is a Brit Pop artist that has a lot of classic punk, emo and rap influence
Yungblud is amazing ! Love him!!🖤🖤🖤
I think you guys should do more MGK. A lot of his songs have a lot of inner meaning. The ones I always go to is see my tears and a little more love
awesome song, awesome video! ;)
yayy, more yungblud please 🥰
On the way for sure!
Love it
We did too!! Also, feel free to check out our 5 song EP novellas.
Riley listen to NF. I think he creates a beautiful balance of emo lyrics with a heavy message on depression. I think you will love his message.
2nd this NF comment. He’s great!
Hell yeah! What are some songs I should check out?
Riley Rose - My Life and Green Lights are two of my favorites from him. Hook after hook, great beats, fun to drive too.
And no drugs, btw
@@rileyrose1518 check out "How Could You Leave Us"
Having depression sucks... hit me deep bruh
Definitely feel that fam. If you ever need to talk our inbox on fb is always open! ❤
Tongue Tied with yungblud, blackbéar, and marshmallow. This song is beast
We'll throw it on the list

This past year mgk is in another level never thought i would enjoy his stuff as much as i have been.
Solid.
Got bullied all through school.emo and pop punk kept me pushing didnt feel so alone
We love you fam. We were too so we can totally relate. We're always here for you
Just found this channel, but you guys are ill. Binged a whole bunch of the videos, so you got my sub; keep it up!
Thanks so much and welcome to the family!
love how yall are actually talking and not just jamming along saying "this is sick" the entire time like a lot of other reaction videos hahahaha
keep it up yall
Thank you so much. We definitely love giving insight from a musician's perspective. Thanks so much for the kind words.
@@Spiritsmusicwa for sure homies!
Hahaha looooooove this reaction!!!!
Thanks so much
You guys are fucking awesome, thank you.
Thank you Spencer! We think you're pretty rad yourself!
This is a great track and like you said gives you that feel of 90s punk/grunge era ... You should check out the mgk - love on the brain cover
I appreciate how you watched the way way through without constantly stopping to comment
Yungblud is a rly rising British artist, you guys should check out more of his songs, I’d be interested to hear you take on them
anyone else hear Bert from The Used when Youngblud sings ?
100% agree!!!
I love what you said about depression I have it and your 100% it has messed up my life relationships jobs everything I would give anything not to have it I wasn't into emo at all and wasn't friends with the emo kids but I didn't bully them I grew up listening to smile empty soul so underrated still trapt hoobastank stuff like that love ur guys videos tho keep them coming
Thanks so much fam! If you ever need someone to talk to, join the group the spirit world on fb. Amazing people from all over the world that will be there for you. Also, Sean got to open for Smile Empty Soul years ago. Great band!
Yungblud mixes alt rock, indie, emo and pop with undertones of rap. Sounds really weird when saying it but it makes sense
Talking about emo rap.
Check out "NF - The Search" pretty sure it wouldn't qualify as emo but his sound is very atmospherical and the lyrics are deep.
Haha when he goes "I heard it's like an emo rap song and I don't usually like those " myself in my head "welp we got him lads he's gonna love it "😂
Hahaha I mean that’s pretty spot on fam 🤣🤣🤣
Check out Nothing,Nowhere. Emo hip hop guy that kills it musically and vocally
Please do more yungblud reactions :p hes one of my favorite artists ^^
Check out "Bloody Valentine" by MGK, another song where he sings instead of raps :)
I can listen to anything but r & b and country.
This song isn’t about drugs though, this songs makes me shiver because it’s so relevant to me being bo-polar!
The drugs can apply to prescription meds!
This scares me how much this song is me, how and what you do, also how you feel!
this is pop
*nods along too*
Yungblud sounds like Bert from The Used to me. Love this song though.
I've gone through your original songs and I have to say you're an awesome band and I can't wait to hear more songs!!
Someone who I would love for you to check out is Nothing,Nowhere. This guy can do it all in the emo genre.
There isn't a single bad song he has made, all masterpieces. He made an EP with Travis Barker which was an epic collab.
I recommend listening to ALL of his songs, you won't regret!
Thank you so much Josh. That means so much to us. Thank you for checking our stuff out. We shot one for Nothing, Nowhere, but when I went to edit it, i found out the footage was blurry. We will re shoot it for sure. :)
@@Spiritsmusicwa You definitely have potential to grow an awesome fan base, your music rocks! And that's dope to hear man, can't wait to watch your reactions to his music!
@@UKstoney you really made our day. Thank you so much.
great reaction!! you should check out some more pop-punk songs by mgk- why are you here, bloody valentine (produced by travis barker), sick and tired (also has travis barker on it), and let you go!!
I believe MGK came out and said that YungBlood Freestyled his verse at his house during a session and MGK only had a chorus and a verse written, artists man theyre just so crazy talented
So glad we got requests to react to him! Such a great find!
here was 3 very different guys that when came together it just was perfect ,I give them all credit like them or not
We loved this a lot!
