Because I'm in college, I know I won't have the time in November to reach the 50K. So, I decided that so long as I write that day, I'll give myself the 1667. Congrats! I really needed Nano... Sept/Oct were hard months for me so I did Nano to get back to it.. And I crushed it. After years of giving up I won this year, by day 18. Then wrote other smaller projects I needed, and now started book two of the new series. Got almost 74k for the month so far. I never wrote that much in a month. My published books are a three book series of novellas so I'm proud.

One thing I would like to let you know that I admire about you after watching this journey is that even though you had this goal for yourself, even TODAY when you could have knocked those words out by sacrificing your time with your family, you didn't. I think that should be applauded because of how easy it can be to become too focused on hitting a personal goal. You can easily let personal relationships suffer during that time and I think it's really remarkable that you prioritized your family time. Jk). Wrote some words for Nano (almost 18K words), didn't win but I DID do a lot of work of several projects that I'm very happy with. So, I guess I WON in my own way :P
As a full-time teacher (with extra sections due to staffing shortages), I wanted to be realistic, so my goal was only 30K. Hitting that yesterday still felt great, though. I don't feel like I can in all honesty order a "winner" shirt, but I did get a NaNoWriMo writer shirt. Meanwhile, my Creative Writing students have completed 22 days of in-class writing sprints this month right along with me. Their projects range from 10 pages to over 100 and counting. One of them trounced my word count!

As a full-time teacher (with extra sections due to staffing shortages), I wanted to be realistic, so my goal was only 30K. Hitting that yesterday still felt great, though. I don't feel like I can in all honesty order a "winner" shirt, but I did get a NaNoWriMo writer shirt. Meanwhile, my Creative Writing students have completed 22 days of in-class writing sprints this month right along with me. Their projects range from 10 pages to over 100 and counting. One of them trounced my word count!
