It's crazy that people are just now learning about XG, the world is huge.
A lot of people only hear about and listen to mainstream media, so unless it’s on the tv, radio, or the algorithm on social media shows them XG, they won’t know about it. Especially whene it comes to artists that are form other countries

XG fans are delusional sometimes. If Kendrick Lamar calls himself not hiphop you will say he's not hiphop? XG is a korean group made of japanese members. They are not just promoting in Korea. They do everything in Korea, hence why they're a Korean group and use K-Pop industry as a platform for their music, hence why they're K-Pop. The dumbest thing I've seen XG fans is discredit Korea and trying to detach themselves from K-Pop when even the girls themselves and their producer doesn't do that. Instead they embrace it. They embrace the K-pop culture. They are part of it, regardless if they consider themselves a global group (whatever that means). The reality is they appear in K-Pop festivals, tv shows, radios, etc. They are in K-Pop charts, etc. By every definition of what they do, they are K-Pop. It's a pity that such a good group has such hateful fans towards Korea. Y'all take the "global group" too literally because you don't want them to be "k-pop" because of some dumb reasons. Reality hits different. I swear k-pop/j-pop/g-pop whatever the fuck letter-pop fans are some of the most parasocial and delusional human beings I've seen lol. There's no reason with them. Same with Swifties.
However, they themselves have asked us not to call it KPOP since the beginning, and we fans just want to respect what they say.

It seems like people who aren't familiar with asian music tend to refer every asian artist as Kpop idols. Wherever they came from, whatever music genre they are doing as long as they are asian they are directly Kpop for many people. I've seen some RUclips reactors labelling Band Maid and Lovebites as Kpop Rock just because they are asian. But in the end Kpop is just pop music in korean language. Even if a korean group sings in another language it is not Kpop because Kpop = pop in korean.
So even if XG promotes in Korea and participating in Korean music shows, they are definitely not Kpop no matter what explanation anyone can come with.

In Tokyo they trained in KPOP way. You can see Tokyo Tower in the documentaries of their training days. It is a familiar view to Japanese people.
