that was not a saliva ejector that is an air water syringe tip
RIGHT?!?!?!?
yesss i got confused when she said so..
I was about to say that was not right lol
that’s the saliva ejector mate.
The small instrument is called air/ water syringe, not a saliva ejector... The saliva ejector is on the far left that is plastic.
college pliers or pick -ups are both valid terms used.
Great video thanks 🙏🏻
That's right, Health Profesionals have standards, I can't teach this to my students, gloves need to be worn when setting a tray too!
Monica Plata HATL Services my boss thinks not and he’s the owner. How can I convince him wearing clean new gloves to set up trays is appropriate???? There’s about 3 people touching the trays with bare hands before it goes into the patients mouth.
Thank you
also why no perio probe?? Very strange examination trays you's have there
So many health protocols were violated in this video! I know she's probably not actually going to work on a patient with contaminated instruments, acrylic nails, hair down, etc. but still...
Also, She mixed up the names of the saliva ejector and air/water syringe tips.
I have a question when you have a cavity that just started to decay would you need to numb it still
It's your choice, small cavities can go unnumbed
Make sure you put your mask on first and then your gloves. You should always put your gloves on last.
wow... Iam barely half way through DA school, and this video embarrasses me!!
Anna Duke yes I've only been in for 5 weeks now and I knew better than that
Michelle Machuga lol I’m not even going to school for that but I knew as a patient.
hey! she is just showing the way to do it not that she is doing it at the time, she is just demonstrating the way is setup not other things!!
That doesn't look like a saliva ejector tip. It's a tip for a 3 way.
I was just about to say that!
jesse gonzales its an air water syringe
Last time I checked, her 'saliva ejector' was a 3 in 1 tip and her 'suction tip' was a saliva ejector.
she called the air water tip syringe a saliva ejector?
ANNA CASTILLO absolutely they do I thought this was all wrong from the beginning not counting her nails or her hair being tied back or sleeves rolled up she should have loved up before she touched any of those sterilized equipment
michelle the white tip is call air/water syringe tip
Some saliva ejector! LOL, how is she going to bend THAT?
explorer and cotton wool pickups?? um no, probe and tweezers. You're so called saliva ejector is a 3-in-1 tip, and your suction tip is actually a saliva ejector. Your hair should definitely be tied back, sleeves should be rolled up above elbows and acrylic nails should not be worn !!
how old is she?
just wondering...
To all of you who needs to be enlightened in terms of proper INFECTION CONTROL go to CDC Guidelines for Infection Control in Dental Health-Care Settings --- 2003 and you will see that long fingernails is unacceptable due to its potential to harbor pathogens. I teach this & I hope all dental staff/DHCP practice this!
was just wondering what office lets her have long nails like that.
Molly Romanek- Morrison where I live almost every office I have been to they have long nails. I don’t see the big issue. While working your hands are gloved and you are mostly holding the HVE.
she should have had one gloves to set up the tray in the first place also her finger nails are too long
lol she called the air water syringe, a saliva ejector! And cotton pick ups? lol Ok. A suction tip?, Aka Saliva ejector, to boot she has acrylic nails on." Solutions " should send you through a basic dental terminology class
so helpful
Actually the third object on the tray is not a saliva ejector, that is a air water syrine tip aka your 3-way tip and the other tip on there that she refers to as a "suction tip", that is the saliva ejector not the other one. Also those arent called "cotton pick-ups" they are called cotton plyers. wow..
yes, that's right
She needed more training.
i never heard of a dental assistant with solutions..that is a basic set up tray
Why bother with RUclips videos when over half the DA’s have no business trying to teach . … every other week there is some fresh DA who did some mediocre 12 program that starts posting “how to “ videos and make a hundred rookie mistakes in the process or mix up basic terminology.
It’s fine, but maybe don’t make videos until you’ve been in the game a few years
i actually thought it was cotton pliers, college pliers, or pickups, not cotton pickups;)
NAILS HAVE TO GO!
angie bengoa it depends on the doctor. She may be aloud to have nails in her office
It doesnt matter if she has nails as long as she can work with it, and the dental tray setup depends on the dentist. You guys are just mad cause half of you guys probably don't even have a job as DA.
@Elvinson Espinal who doesn't clean under their nails ? a nasty person doesn't .
the nails are a problem because microscopic dirt and contamination gets trapped in there and can stay for a long time. What if the patient has an oral STD (or nowadays, has covid)? Blood, saliva, and germs LOVE living in long nails even when you scrub them afterwards.
Go back to school!
I'm so sorry Michelle, but this is not how you do patient education. First of, you have to show your viewers that you've performed aseptic technique before touching the sterilized instruments. Then, tie your hair up, wear your gloves and your mask. Also long acrylic nails are not allowed in your profession. Hmm...A BIG NO-NO!
Nola Marie Espinosa nails depend on the doctor you work with.
It doesn't matter what the Dr. lets you get away with;there are standards of procedures and precautions. You need education in prevention as well.
Great video thanks 🙏🏻
