      "Christine"????
      What does your sentence mean?
I have already spoken with you, I have watched the videos about transferring waste to a tote (unpopular with neighbours on a caravan site?) and how to LIFT that heavy tote to a disposal point.
      Extra steps!
The tote isn't an answer - it's an extra level of inconvenience, filling a tote, THEN having to empty it.
The answer is - a cassette conversion and somebody will make a lot of money, if they do this because these 5th Wheels (toilet apart) are really excellent holiday homes.@@CCRVUK

    THE TOILET! THE TOILET!!
With a motorhome, you can empty the cassette toilet on virtually EVERY caravan or campsite.
With a Fifth Wheel YOU CANNOT EMPTY THE TOILET - it (the waste) is in a large underslung tank and you have to take it home with you.
It is designed to be emptied on USA and Canadian sites - where they DO have black water dumping facilities.
If somebody , in the UK, did a cassette conversion, these 5th Wheels would be ideal, in so many ways......BUT nobody does, so you are stuck with a big tank of waste, driving around, with you - until you get home and empty it into a manhole cover, on your drive - IF YOU HAVE ONE????

      @thebebbsbeat 5 месяцев назад +2

You are so misinformed and very very wrong. Toilet waste, is toilet waste, do you think a caravan cassette somehow magically cleans and purifies it so you put it down a drain that is “ONLY” for the use of caravans?
5th wheels have no problems disposing of “Black” waste, and as it is a holding tank they do not require chemicals like cassettes so therefore much easier to dispose as it go into any sewer or septic tank.

Having travelled 26 countries over 7 years I would always prefer a tank and the disposal. I never had a problem if you know where to look such as in Zarutz in Spain we found a signposted sign that was in an industrial estate. Portugal and France have similar signs of a picture of a campervan "having a poop". Scandinavia and the Baltic states and as far south as Ulcinge caused no problems. Look up Paul's shorts on using a tote for the difficult to reach sites.
Tank, cassette, composting or bucket the choice is yours, mine is a tank.

Your interpretation of my comment is what is very very wrong!
I take the cassette toilet to a disposal point - on any UK caravan or camping site - as do all caravan and motorhome owners.
There are facilities to clean the cassette too.
YOU said "magically cleans and purifies"...."ONLY for the use of caravans" - I didn't?????
I seem to have upset you, to the point that you are not addressing my comment? Sorry about offending your sensibilities.
My comment was referring to disposal, once the cassette is full - it goes into a drainage system or a septic tank and is then cleaned.
5th Wheels DO have a problem, in that there is no way and nowhere to empty the toilet tank - WHEN YOU ARE AWAY FROM HOME.
I searched UK sites, when I was considering buying one - and there are a handful of sites only. Rather limiting!
It was this issue that stopped me from buying one, when the time came.
I like them - they are a great idea and are beautiful vehicles and as long as you don't mind driving a pick-up, are a great way to holiday.
But the fact remains - the toilet waste disposal IS a problem, that nobody has addressed and is "skimmed over", in all the hype.
