- When Buddy comes to visit he is glued to Nathan, the other dogs get a break from babysitting duties and leave it over to Buds. Today he had a wierd fascination to clean Nathan's feet for some reason, who knows, but as long as he's beside his furless companion he's happy. Nathan was torn between Kodi and Buddy at the moment of who his favourite is but as Buddy is relentless in providing attention he seemed to win haha. Nathan loves the interaction with his pets and he wouldn't be found without one by his side all day long! Buddy literally thinks he has to look after Nathan he doesn't even take food off him, he has to clean him and look after him too! All in a days work for Buddy

I own Golden retrievers and they are the most adorable nanny’s to kids! I grew up with a golden and my love began there! They are kind , loyal and totally a best friend to grow up with as a child! My dog ( this was back in late 70 s and 80s when we could go to the park on our own with friends at about 7 /8 years old. ) my dog Heidi used to walk to the park with me and play with us if it was a ball game on the grass or just sit near the swings or roundabout etc and watch over me! She would never let anyone she didn’t know come anywhere near me if she could see I didn’t want to talk to them( not often back then a stranger approached a child) but my parents knew that Heidi would die before letting anyone hurt me! She was a true member of our fam8ly and my brother and I both grew up learning how to care for a dog and animals with feeding , walking them etc . I remember Christmas mornings she’d have a stocking as well as a pile of pressie too and she’d be as excited as us to open them. A dog bring so much joy to everyone but to have that bond as a child was unreal and unimaginably special!she was a working dog too and loved nothing more at night after picking me up from school- she’d walk 2 miles to my school alone and wait outside the school to walk home with me! Mum would just say go fetch Suzi from school and off she’d trot!I loved coming out of school and seeing her sat having pets from the other mums and waiting for me! She even could go to the local newsagents with a little bag with money in and fetch the papers for Dad! We did live in a small village where everyone knew each other so Heidi and other family dogs did these kind of things . I always had a friend hoax I was growing up I could confide in , always ready to play then sleep outside my bedroom door ( mum used to move her bed then) Heidi died of 9ld age when I was in college and it broke me, but I understood she’d done her job and now it was time for her to rest! After about four years we did have another golden retriever called Poppy and again she was family and helped the whole family have a better life in her way, all dogs bring something slightly different as they are as individual as us but I’m grown up now and have my own home and always I have a golden retriever in my home and life! Always! ❤❤❤

Adorable … brings back memories. My son now 38 now had a Buddy when he was 3yrs old …. His buddy was actually Jamie who was a she . 14 yrs they were best buddies. Our golden retriever and our black Lab were the most lovable, sweet , and caring dogs we ever owned . Many years of them being best buds 😊

I’ve had many rescue dogs over the years. When my kids were babies, we adopted a rescue Yellow Lab. She decided that the babies were her puppies. She was a saint. They tortured her when they were toddlers, and she never snapped or bit them; in fact, she enjoyed the attention, no matter how outlandish! When they got older, Sadie got old too. The kids nursed her as they would a sick old grandma, and they were terribly sad when she passed away.
