The Bai Lang is my favourite tank in Steel Hunter. The final derp gun upgrade is soo good. And the little drone tank is really funny
Tips for steel hunter: Always take higher engine power, always take longer range radio, auto loaders are really good usually. Gwolf: take the 4 round auto loader (broken), Bai: use the derp and combo with acid shell, sneak up shoot then run then sneak and repeat.
I prefer the shorter range radio
@@louiswinterhoff334 I’ve tested both and longer range literally covers massive distance compared to short + 90% of players say they will use it more because of a lower cool down but no one does+ when you use it your ping pops up in the map so it wouldn’t be so smart to constantly ping your location and only see a small radius around you.
My unpopular opinion, I really like steel hunter. There's a mode where it's unironic that it's you versus everyone else. I like the added variety with this iteration as well. There's a tank for every playstyle, and different strategies for getting ahead and winning. It's satisfying to go head to head with players with the multiple microbattles throughout each round.
Absolutely agree, the rental system this go around is dumb; and I do wish the rewards were at least enough that I felt I was putting myself behind in battle pass progression if I am playing steel hunter instead of random queue.
I once had the flank of a KV-4 in my type 59 and was no more than 100m when I shot at it. The shell missed and after reviewing the replay, the shell went in the space between the back or the turret and the hull. I felt very lucky.
You can remove the Acid Shot by repair not heal
I was able to get first in the Varyag 7/9 times, but as soon as people started renting the new vehicles, I just kinda stopped playing since they’re a little OP.

I think Steel Hunter is a nice game mode, it needs a lot of skill to master and it's fine when the matchmaker gives you a rough time. Sure it's not profitable but games are meant to be played for fun. We often forget this inside wolrd of tanks
You may personally find WoT at its most enjoyable when playing together with other players, but I really don't want WG to stop making these more solo-oriented game modes. Even though any sane person wouldn't blame their team for dying when they are not at fault, there is always that element of toxicity between "allies", even though in the current 15 - 4 simulator you often find yourself competing with them rather than working with them. As a result, it's surprisingly refreshing to play as well as you can and only have your own poor tactical choices hindering you instead of Steve a LT throwing his tank in the first minute of the battle where you can do nothing about it.
One thing you forgot to highlight is that Premium Account players will also receive 50% more hunter seals, so they will be able to enjoy their favorite tanks more often and have to grind less overall.
What have the steelhunter seals to do with the speed of the grind?
@@juanzulu1318 From what I understand they are a currcency you can use to "rent" the vehicles besides the 3 default ones. So in essence, I am referring to the play-to-play grind as QuickyBaby called it.

I think you can grind with any vehicle as much as you want. But many players probably prefer (and/or perform MUCH better in) one of the rental vehicles, but they have to play the standard vehicles first in order to afford to rent their favorite.
That 8 round autoloader was disgusting! Great video, I was contemplating playing it to help with the battle pass, but I think I'll skip it. I don't pay often or well enough to go into a mode that gives less points. Thanks!
I like all game modes that dont show in your account win rate. Im just an average player with under 48% after 12k and 50,5% wins after 32k games. and my opinion is that the lifetime win ratio is the source of most of the toxicety in the game. The gameplay and attitude is just so much more relaxed. I dont like stressing myself even more after a hard day.
I hope wargaming makes this gamemode a separate game. It can be creative seeing that you can make up many tanks and upgrading the tank, having multiple pathways is very cool.
I am in complete agreement with Quickybaby at the end there. I played a grand total of 2 battles. The first battle I finished in 3rd place in that Russian looking thing and the 2nd battle I finished in 1st place with the little Frenchy thingy. After both those battles were over, I was so bored.
It looks like Mad Max took over WoT and that, to me personally, is 100% the greatest thing that could ever be! I adore WoT and I absolutely LOVE the Mad Max franchise! So this seems like it would be a match made in Heaven for me. But it really isn’t. I wish that I could have these Mad looking tanks in the random battles or on the Frontlines. You know, something with more TEAM PLAY.
I hate battle royals. I tried my hands at PUBG, CoD, I even tried Fortnight(for like five minutes). All of them just sucked. Huge open worlds with no fun to be had, aside from the few times my shot would go through an unsuspecting players head.

It looks like a replay bug that causes the tank to revert to its level 1 appearance when you try to rewind.

I always liked the idea behind Steel Huners but I could never really get into it, Frontline feels like a way better game mode to me, just wish it stayed around for longer.
I give credit to WG for creating these fun/different modes. After playing WoT for 8 years I can say that these modes are the ones that prevent it from becoming stale.
I still remember the Chaffee races, the Footbal mode, the space mode (with those ball tanks) and so on.
Frontlines was nice as you played with your own tanks, Steel Hunter is nice because you can play a different mode than the regular TDM/CTF we constantly do in random battles and, simply, do not give a damn about the outcome as it's a fun mode.
Yes, I want to win but as it is a FFA mode, the frustration about your team not doing what it is supposed to do is simply not there and that is what makes it amazing!

Well, I’m going to say that if you can upgrade the bai Lang then it is absolutely BROKEN
but not when you are in 1v1 and the enemy is a max varyag.

I am one of those ones for whom Steel Hunter is the most fun game mode in WoT. As a single tank fighting for yourself only, you are the sole master of your game, not beholden to the misplays of teammates. Every win or loss in Steel Hunter is my own success or fault. This makes it, for me, more satisfying than regular matches.
Plus everyone is equal, no OP premiums, no paid for gold rounds and so on
You miss/don't pen a single shot or you low roll your shots because of RNG and even a perfectly timed repair between the enemy shots won't save you and you are sent back to the garage without any mistakes made and perfectly played.
Or my other favourite is when you engage an enemy because you see on your long range radio that nobody is close by and you fight hard and win and a 3rd party randomly joins in out of nowhere to kill you and reap the benefits.
It is just so much out of your control that I no longer have fun in this mode. The first iteration of Steel Hunter was the most fun I had in world of tanks ever but these newer version just don't cut it.
The skills and abilites are tied to tanks, the upgrade paths are less diverse. Everyone equal? I wonder how long that will last with this new rental tank mechanic. My bet is next time they will sell the vehicles for money.
I really like this mode and I want it permanently because diverse gameplay to spice up the game. This is good for a break from the random battles when you get bored.
Honestly I have no fucking clue why wg doesn't just keep frontline, steel hunter, ranked and everything else constantly available. They made content, and then they don't use it most of the time?

8:45 when qb rewinds, the replay displays the wrong tank for what he is playing, pretty weird!
Regarding the ghost shell incident, I don't think it prevents WoT from being a competitive game, as Melee, a pretty competitive fighting game, has the phatom hit mechanic that frustrate a lot of players but don't manage to deter them from competing in tournaments. Bugs be damned, if the game is fun people will play it, and if the game is competitive people will compete in it !
Not a chance in hell, at least if you mean competitive as in E-sportslike.
The game has too much RNG and the disprsion is too large its impossible to exert enough control/skill into the game for that type of setting.
This game will (and as such has) also never been tournament-worthy because of that. Why do you think all those other game don't have this rediculous RNG, or more plainly.. random-chances

The new map is fantastic, played it three times and won two of those games!
I loved old game modes like first chafee race or football game mode. It was great to play with friends in platoon and just drive around and get fun, more fun than with random battles.
Chafee races lost a lot of their charm when WarGaming tried to make a production of it.

Quickybaby forgot to mention that you can remove the acid effect with a repair kit, same goes for the electrical discharge after you manage to escape the zone, so if you are a skilled player that knows what they are doing, both abilities are not a big threat to you, i have played the Bai Lang a lot and there were only about 5 guys who actually knew how to deal with the acid effect which is kinda sad to be honest.
And the acid effect stuff is written in the description page of the event ! ;)
Bái Láng most likely refers to the characters "白狼" which means "White Wolf ". Ironically, in front of the tank, the paint says "虎 Hǔ" which means "Tiger". lol
steel hunter awesome i just hate that some of the vehicles are stuck behind a play to play wall.
Im starting to run into these people who are teaming up in solos for the whole match and its starting to make me really hate this mode. (they are dropping together a lot of them were from same clans)

This new game mode is the most fun for me. Finally a game mode where I can make credits instead of losing them. Also a game mode where I feel like everyone is equal and they don't have some 54%+ win ratio tank that I don't have and bully me with it. Along with bond equipment 5 skill crew and field mods. As a player who does not have these types of advantages over others and plays tanks that are at best 51% win ratio, this game mode I find very fun
The one thing I hate about steel hunter is how quickly the map shrinks.

@@pa5287 I haven't played this mode much, but after having spend some more time with the mode I have to say Frontlines is infinitely more fun. The tanks in this mode, and then specifically the differences in level are utterly broken.
Not to mention some of those abilities.
I dont remember which one has the thing that completely cripples mobility but that is goddamn nuts. Tanks cant drive nor turn for fuck...
What a broken and shitty mode this... The map skrinkage actually is the least worst part of it on second thought.
i've been playing the Huragan, and it is OP, if played well, it can out perform some tanks early which can help later on with late game matches.
my path is radio range, dynamics, magazine, double armour and magazine again. i have won most of my games like this but i did try the rotation for turret and the other magazine, and still claps tanks if you pen
For me personally the mode is quite fun and at the moment I feel a bit addicted, maybe like Dez feels XD but so often I died to a Beowulf, it's not even funny... I think it's a bit too strong.
And as well I think the starting position aren't the best, so often I start in a crowd of people, not rly able to do anything in the fifght...
But much fun still and I like it

I've also got a lot more play time in steel hunters as it's my favorite mode in this game and I've made whole spreadsheets about these tanks. Additionally its been weeks since this round has been out so QB also probably has changed options if he's played more Steel Hunters.
1. So the steel seals are only a problem if you dont want to play steel hunters. Spend a few games with each trial tank then you can easily get keep your favorite 1 or 2 of them unlocked for play the whole time with about 4-5 games a day in this mode.
2. The Huragan is downright busted. But I think you're build is a bit wrong. At teir IV you should go for the auto loader. It has more DPM and enough damage in the clip to take down all the mediums and lights without HP upgrades and with luck or any ability thr heavies as well. Additionally the harugan with the 5 and 6 powers active can 1 clip anything with the HEAT shells at max level. So good luck winning in a 1v1.
3. Bai lang is not the fastest, the Arlequin got a huge buff and its fast engine now goes at 90 with the power engine still going at 75. Otherwise I think you've got the Bai lang just about right. The Derp gun is actually super good IMO the HE guarantees the corrosion trigger and the reload is very fast considering. Generally I think the Bai lang is just slightly better than the Arlequin.
4. The Beowulf i think you have mostly wrong unfortunately. Only because you were playing in the first few days. The tank itself is fairly good, but both of its abilities are SO BAD against experienced players. The 5 key is a RING not a circle you can sit inside the ring and just face hug to completely ignore it. And the 6 key hardly heals anything if your opponent choses to not shoot at you. For clip tanks you just reload when you see the heal pop and for non clips you just wait.
5. In general Steel Hunters does have a problem. All of the gun options for the tanks at the end have very similar DPM (light tanks are the exeption) this means that all of the auto loaders will get a DPM advantage proportional to their clips reload when going into a fight on full amo. Which for some tanks can be up to 22 seconds.
5.1 Arlequins HE clip gun has stupid DPM but both shells are HE with not great pen. The AT MG is slightly lower DPM than the medium tanks but still better than the heavies with good pen. And the double gun has marginally better pen but the lowest DPM by a huge margin just so it can have a 980 double shot.
5.2 The HE gun has great HE DPM but the AP DPM is only okay with terrible pen, but at least it gets through all that spaced armor. The clip loader is good with acceptable pen and DMP tied for the top DMP heavies. The ROF gun is better than the double gun but you sacrifice dmp for 20mm more pen than the clip loader.
5.3 the harbinger is weird AF. The auto loader have way higher DPM if you only use the top of the clip. But they don't benefit from the ROF increase from the berserk. Since the intra clip doesn't decrease.

There are actually a few problems with this video, I think QB as a content creator in general is slipping a little bit.
1: QB, how did you not notice that when you rewinded the replay it looked like a level 1 tank again?
2: QB evidently did not watch the video WoT released about the game mode. Acid Shell CAN be defeated with a repair kit, but not a recovery.
3: QB gave his opinion on whether or not Steel Hunter has worthy rewards, and not on whether or not it was actually a fun game and a good experience, he should have done both.
4: 39:22, QB has essentially said that this is not what makes WoT appealing to people. And I agree that it is not regular gameplay that most people will be used to. And QB, that is exactly the point! Steel Hunter is SUPPOSED to be a unique experience, it is SUPPOSED to be different from the rest of WoT. In my mind Steel Hunter is designed to refresh the players that have gotten bored with conventional gameplay. Many people can sit down an play WoT for hours, but sometimes, maybe just sometimes, you need a change of pace, you need to sit down and play Minecraft instead for a little while to change the gears in your brain so it doesn't get all rusty.
It always made me laugh too how WG blames your internet on Ghost shells...ghost shells have been a thing since launch of WoT's....just always funny whenever I see my shell go right through a tank at point blank range, I always think of WG's post about it on World of Tanks forums. Claiming that it's the 1k+ posts that were complaining about Ghost shells; that it was their connection and not because the game was buggy lol. So yea, that ghost shell was defiantly disgusting Quackybaby, should of been a hit! But other than that, I recently returned to World of Tanks and I have to say it's still fun like always, I might give Steel Hunter a try myself at one point, looks pretty fun!
Maybe a upgrade in video quality won't hurt, most(100% of them) of your videos look grainy and pixelated unless you reduce the video screen size. To the ones that think 1080 is still good, it was a must in 2012 that was 10 years ago.

I dropped the last battle pass after paying 7500 gold on it , only finishing like 60 stages ,I didn't even take part of the easiest mission on T8 tank you can ever get , I think after playing this game since 2015 for over 40k games random queue lost it for me , and I will wait for the next even to return playing the game again after this one pass , it could be the halloween event .
90% of your games in this mode won't end up like this. You're more likely to get yolo'd by a single tank and farmed by a tank behind you than to have a good game like this. This game mode is absolutely tragic.
Dayum are people on the NA really as bad as bots? Playing the Huragan I never got enemy players which were stupid enough to stay in the electrical discharge. It's not really that useful of a skill if ur opponent has even one working braincell. Dayum, playing on the NA server must literally feel like playing against bots or like a PvE game mode.
Good thing you didnt ram raven with bai lang, I slightly touched arlequin with my track and i killed myself while tryint to slow him down. And thats how you call Wareg ? its how it supposed to be named ? i thought it was pronounced War+egg.
Sorry gents, but i am still recovering from last year when i playd steel hunter....i am not in the mood to play this time....i love team work, team battles, to make new friends even if in many cases, the players are annoying and speak badly.....so, all in all ... a team game is a thousand times more enjoyable than playing alone against everyone....I still can't get my thoughts out of last year ..."Damn, I have to beat them all .... what do they all have with me ..... the feeling that you're cornered and lying on every corner".....

Yeah, I try it out every season and every season I only play one or two battles before just going back to random. I can see why Fortnite players who jump on WoT would like it, but for me...there is a reason I don't play Fortnite or any battle royal type games. Just not fun.
It's incredibly stupid that literally 3/4 of the tanks, even some of the old ones, are locked and have to be rented with some stupid currency. Why is this even a thing???

I stopped playing Steelhunter a year or two ago, bc the tanks like the raven and harbinger just seemed to be able to pen me every shot. I would play Walkure or Varyag, go for the armour loadouts, and still get penned every shot.
Of topic comment, I would like that steel hunters was a apart game from wot, it could perfectly be one, I loved it past years but I'm in a position where I don't want to download wot again, also nice skills
or just the varyag...mobilty (horsepower) at first lvl then same stuff. but you got minefield...everyone loves mines wants to hug them. if not push them in
I like Steel Hunter no worries about awful random match ups, win rates etc but rewards should be better particularly the Battle Pass points.
I'm just glad they don't force me to play it to get rewards I can't pass up like they did with Front line a couple of years ago. That got to be a chore after a while.
finally someone talks about how auto aim sucks on high ping, on the asia server 80% of the time there is not enough people in the aus server for good queue times so i join the hong kong severs but auto aim doesnt work, it can miss shots the have no conceivable way of missing
The type 5 weakpoint hatch has completely been ghosted, 5 perfect shot I put in to one and 5 times it passed straight through like nothing was there, this game really does piss me off.
I love SH tho the limitation on the tanks i can play kills it for me so i just havent been playing since whats the point of a fun new gamemode if the tanks you want to play are all locked and you have to suffer throw the tanks you dont like in order to gain the tanks you want and then in order to keep them you have to keep playing more and more and more.
On the Asia server with so many Internet cafe players. The stack a game and then run around pick off stragglers as a pack and then take it turns to win.
I was the best when this gamemode came out. With 3 vehicle.
Now with these new tanks just grinding not fun at all.

seems it turned in even a shittier mode since there are skills that can kill the enemy almost instantly. I would rage quit playing entirely.
