No it was bad too....weak engine,slow,easy target for meds and for beasts like SU/ISU-152 and you really not want be hit by 152mm HE:)

Elephant has had ups and downs. Mainly downs. Germans failed to understand what's better for tanks.. most of them were simply too heavy without capable enough engine to run them. Also tanks like Tiger II struggled with reliability.. well at least with Porsche turret. Henshel Tigers got improved but still during war IT was better to have a lot simple tanks that are mobile and have enough of power in terms of gun. German tanks were costs a lot and most of them got knocked out outside of battle due to technology failures or because of terrain and vehicle's weight. Yes german engineer is more complex and advanced but still its better to have 10 worse tanks than one good that can be easly eliminated by other things than enemy fire. Jagdtiger was perfect example of that.

Gun was great, platform had..... performance issues, to be kind.
Give Ferdinand his historically good reverse speed and it would be an entirely different beast. It is ridiculous that Ferdinand has a top reverse speed of 10km/h when it reality (on paper) its electric drive was designed to go as fast backwards as it can go forwards. If you want to buff Ferdinand I'd start there because for casemates faster reverse gear means faster peaking of hill crests and corners and thus less exposure time.

But iam not sure it help much in history still easy to get side hits and soo big that mighly SU/ISU 152 can punish you.
Actually it is a much more interesting buff idea compared to just buffing its gun/armor/top speed.
A fast reverse is basically what makes or brakes a tank in Wot. The ability to zoom back in cover is invaluable.
Hello, thats historically not true, Ferndinands max. speed was 20kmh, and because of the weight it was in realitly 10-15kmh :)

Need big speed buff and some armor buff.
Since we have TS-5,Turtle and others.
having the superstructure at 250mm will solve the problem since the gun arc of this tank is fairly large it can angle the armor easily
@@onemorebox148 Yes that can be nice and maybe 5-7Km top speed,bit of turning speed and 3km reverse speed.
When I was grinding this line back in 2020, I loved it as a f2p player. Good pen, nice alpha dmg, has hp, armor if you use it correctly, it was a bit slow tbh, but I made it work somehow.

This tank in stock config is just frustrating
The only advantage it has over the borsig is the fact that you cant pen it with HE and thats insane. Its supposed to be this brawling TD but you can omly play it as a sniper. Might as well plsy the borsig.

Derdi Ferdi will always have a special place in my heart. Got my first real kolobanovs on this tank as well. It’s just pure nostalgia to take him for a spin once in a while.

One of most pleasant tier 8 TDs in game, im on 2nd mark in like 65 games. The gun is definitely a highlight. I recommend boosting its mobility -> vents, turbo, rotation/grousers.
The 2nd MOE requirements are lower than most premium TDs 1st MOE, ~1700 thats like 3 shots and a bit of track/assist haha

The Jg Pz e100 was my first tier 10 all those years ago. I bought ferdi thinking it would be fantastic, and immediately regretted my decision. I actually went back to tier 7 to unlock the jg panth 2. So much more nimble and agile it was actually fun.
Just go for Jadgpanther 2 fellas, way more mobile and trollish sloped armor. Ferdinand has flat armor that gets punished no matter what.
Jagdpanther 2 is better for sure but if someone is grinding jgpz you have to play ferdi
Also fast traverse speed can reverse fast to stick to a wall when got encircle
@@marcellvarga4569 IIRC the modules are shared between many german vehicles from different branches and blueprints can make the grind a lot easier. Jagdtiger is great at tier 9 and the option of Frontline mode is also available to grind those stock tanks

I really love my Ferdi, just wish they would buff the frontal casemate and it would be perfect. It is really good in my opinion. It does take a lot of effort to make work but so rewarding.
You should definetly play the Jagdpanzer II cuz i think it should be a fun tank to play instead of Ferdi in today meta

I like the ferdinand, still need to get a crew in the borsig.
Borsig means camping, and i am not good at camping.
@@erikaverink8418 Ferdi too yes you can bounce few shots but you are huuge and easy target.
@@erikaverink8418 Borsig with the 15cm gun is fun in close combat. Go with your heavies and stay behind them. Wait for the right moment come out of your hole and boom 750 dmg in the enemies face.
for moe the smaller gun is better but I think the big gun is way more fun to play
also with the big gun you have literally the same penetration as Grille 15 with heat
I realize that this tank is not really good, but it's the only one so far where I get a second MOE and it holds my all-time damage record. Probably says more about me than about the tank, OK.

ferdi is one of me fav tds, i do not care about the community, ill rate it 5* every day of the year(as long as im downtiered[cause fuk gold ammo])

Ferdinand arguably more comfortable than jp2 except for speed
You are 1st line sniper. Doesnt matter if you get spotted, but do pull back.
Without top gun is pile of kaku, with top gun sadly as well kaku
For me, the worst stock grind is Challenger. I'm bouncing from everything

The Dirty Ferdi is one of my favorites! Such a pleasure to play this tank.
Penetration nowadays is meh, gun handling is shit, accuracy is fake, mobility has none, camo is zero, armor is meh, viewrange is shit. The vehicle is not competitive. DPM is ok but not near to compensate the problems.

This tank with the first 3 guns is just frustating to play. It's so bad.
Even then, with the top gun the only thing it has is the damage per shot.
Need 30k xp to get the next tier....its taking me already 6 months...the tank is just annoying

THE GAME IS NOT GOOD IN 2024!!
Hands down one of the worst TDs in the game at any tier, from any nation. Mobility is extremely bad and couple with not having a turret, this one's about as flexible as a stick of ice. The armor... this thing can't angle because of the huge hull cheeks that any tier 6 can punch through without giving it much thought. Even without that, the casemate armor of 200mm flat is useless at tier 8. You say that at least the gun is good... yeah, when it hits it's great. The trouble is that the gun tends to misbehave more often than not. I'd much rather stack up blueprints and skip this turd altogether. Cheers!
Ferdinand was, is and prob will always be a steaming pile of sh.. in WoT. It's the worst TD I've ever, ever played in WoT. It's so bad that I simply ended up spending free xp to jump through it.
It was pretty good a few years ago but WoT has had some pretty silly power creep
