Pretenders:
Pretenders are a type of parasite that appeared some time after the collapse of civilization. As the name suggests, these parasites are capable of mimicking humans both in appearance and behavior. They're able to mimic humans so well that it's almost hard to tell them apart from one another. Even though pretenders are known for mimicking humans, some claims suggest that they're capable of mimicking animals too.
Pretenders are found all across the globe with different variants and sub - species inhabiting different regions and areas. They're most common all throughout Europe and Asia.
Most pretenders are found alone or in small groups but there are times where these parasites are found in towns and small villages. In some accounts, there are towns and villages that are inhabited by pretenders.
Despite what most people believe pretenders are not a byproduct of the Day - Night virus. As of now no one knows where this parasite originated from. Some have suggested theories as to where they have originated from but these are just theories.
If you ever see a person or a group of people out in the middle of nowhere there's a chance that they could be just ordinary people or pretenders. To avoid getting their attention, just keep walking and ignore them and if the parasite starts moving towards you, Run.
Defending yourself is an option but unless you have a match or a lighter on you, then just run.
If you ever stumble upon a village infested with pretenders, light the whole area a blaze. Pretenders are very vulnerable to fire and it is important to prevent these parasites from breeding and expanding their influence across the globe.

Sorry I've been dead for a month. College wasn't too kind to me and my fellow classmates during the finals. I was drained after the whole ordeal and I've sorta decided to rest for a while. But I'm back and doing okay now.

Hello! Welcome back!
I understand your reasonings, education is also hitting me pretty hard and I couldn't work on videos that much. Balancing both is hard and it's respectable!
The monster shown in this video is a pretender - which is obvious. But she reminded me of mythology characters like:
- A siren from Greek Mythology, who lures its victims to death with their singing
- Mananangal from Philippine folklore, who severs the top and bottom part of its body when hunting
- Kitsune from Japanese folklore, who have the ability to shapeshift into humans
I would list others but I'm somewhat tired as of the moment.
Also - regarding your contest I'm still working on it. As I've said earlier I was pretty busy and I couldn't find time to work on it. And I'm impressed with your editing skills because it's pretty hard to create a GCMV. I could post another teaser later just for upload purposes hahah.

Yeah looking at it now the pretenders do remind me of those mythological creatures even though they didn't come to mind while making them hahaha.
If you notice when reading the description of the video there's a bio about the monster in question. From now on when I do these My Little Dark Tale shorts about the monster in question I'll be adding bios about them in the description. Bios that gives you an idea of what these creatures are but vague enough to let your imagination and theories run wild.
Also in regards to the video you're making for the My Little Dark Tale oc showcase, it's okay no pressure. I understand that you have other things to worry about and it's all right. Take as much time as you need. 😊
