As a student, i drove such a 300d in the early 90's all weekends to get some cash as a taxi driver in a small town in Germany. I loved the smoothness and the sound of this car. It felt always like a good friend, you could realy depend on.
Nothing better then a naturally aspirated 3 liter diesel with around 120 hp. These are one of the most reliable engines ever. Leave them for 3 years and they’ll start up in a few minutes like it’s nothing!
Where in europe are you. In the Baltics, looks like the car I had in Estonia. Car was a tank & blast to rip in snow. This is a much nicer one then ours was.

If i own this 300D,I will repair the rust and interior first. After that swap it with OM606,Holset turbo,Mynapump,weld diff,etc. That my dream sleeper diesel benz ever.

@@raigoor9 i know someone that turbocharged a 3 liter. It made about 210 hp and 400 tq..and it still got 40 mpg.
Last summer I started vw passat 32B with 1.6TD( it was sitting 9 years )-I only put in battery .... easy.
That has to be the fastest cold start I have ever seen!
