  • The Alberta Children’s Hospital’s Child Life Team has a new ‘paw-tner’!
In March, the team received a donation of a robotic dog. Casey, who is named after the generous donor, will be a helpful tool to assist our youngest patients in their recovery.
“This could be a really good motivator for patients,” says Child Life Specialist Jackie Pearson. “We often have children in the hospital that need to get out of bed and practice walking again, perhaps after a surgery or procedure. We're starting to think that the dog might be a great addition to getting them up and moving around.”
Made possible by Casey Mallat at Leading Edge Developments, Casey the dog joins the Child Life Team’s MEDi, another interactive robot designed to assist in therapeutic interventions at ACH.
