i think the only issue that person may have with a skip button is that most genshin players have the media literacy of a child, proceed to skip the quest dialogues and then get into massive heated arguments online while being confidently wrong. Personally idgaf about people getting stuff wrong though, if someone is stupid just laugh at them and move on

You have to think, IF we have the skip button and you don't want to skip the dialogue then don't. It will be good to the part of the player-base that doesn't want to sit through the dialogues. I rlly like ZZZ for this reason. I like the story, so I haven't felt the need to skip anything major. Just some portions if a character's voice is too high-pitched for me. Regardless, I'm glad the option is there in case I need to rush through smth that will expire.

From my perspective I stopped playing on my 2nd account (An account where I was spending money as well) simply because it is too time consuming to spam through all the story. I play the archon quests but I do not care in the slightest about random world quests. My partner who has spent money on every single archon that has come out doesn't play the game outside of the archon release simply because she doesn't want to play through the story. A skip button as an option that needs to be opt-in'd to be able to be used in the settings would be great for me however I think there is a concern that adding a skip button would significantly decrease the time it takes for BOTS to farm up primogem accounts that can just be sold on third party websites which I would assume is the main reason from a dev perspective not to do this. There is 100% data showing that people will re-install the game for hype of new big and exciting characters and then uninstall shortly after because they don't want to do all the story quests, IDK from a product design perspective a skip button even as a paid feature would help the game I would think. /end rant

i love the lore and world i think genshin has one of the best worldbuilding in any game ive ever played but i cannot be bothered to sit through every line of dialogue in every character and world quest like i listen to archon quests but ashikai exists for everything else

Genshin isn't an RPG, there is no role play. There is no role play option, no alternative build. Everything is set in stone. Genshjn story while good for its genre but quite mid when it comes to story driven games. So no wonder why some people just don't want to deal with that and prefer exploring and combat and it turns out genshin has those too.

@@nelumb000 Oh trust me, I'm not saying the story is perfect. I have a number of qualms with the story, but it doesn't change the fact that the story is Genshin's whole shtick. Still, I take the salt with the sugar, as games like these are commitments and are filled with up's and down's. I still find myself with loads to do, and I'm someone who both tries to do as many quests as I can while also building my characters to at least be somewhat meta. Which is why I can't help but roll my eyes at those who gripe about there being nothing to do. You don't have to do everything, stuff like TCG is entirely optional for a reason, but can't complain about story when Genshin advertises it's story constantly.

Its because its not enough content even with the story, the story is bloated af w empty dialogue and paimon repeating everything so it feels like theres more content with it.
It definitely has content, just not endgame or very high quality

@@nelumb000 Oh trust me, I'm not saying the story is perfect. I have a number of qualms with the story, but it doesn't change the fact that the story is Genshin's whole shtick. Still, I take the salt with the sugar, as games like these are commitments and are filled with up's and down's. I still find myself with loads to do, and I'm someone who both tries to do as many quests as I can while also building my characters to at least be somewhat meta. Which is why I can't help but roll my eyes at those who gripe about there being nothing to do.
You don't have to do everything, stuff like TCG is entirely optional for a reason, but can't complain about story when Genshin advertises it's story constantly.
@@AmirPrinceling most of the story in Genshin are goddamn visual novel simulator in a open world action combat game. So if anything, the story should be secondary.

i dont care if chingchong pingpong from Hoyoverse spent days brainstorming that awful story
i should have the option to skip it if i dont want to read it after ive been dissapointed by it time and time again
if after 5 years they cant improve it, there's something wrong with the creative team
