    Looked like a successful day on the river! All the best for 2023. Tight Lines man. Great Tip on using the current the way you did. 👍🏻

      It was a very great day, I am so glad you can use the information I shared. 2023 will be a better year. I hope your year will be awesome as well.

    Was down fishing that stretch of the Grand for opener and didn't have any luck either, covered in weeds every cast. Spent some time at mohawk lake and plenty of bluegill and crappie biting there, so wasn't a total waste of a trip!

      At least you were catching some fish, bluegill and crappie are nice catching fish. The Grand hasn't been producing much this year for me either.

    Can we use lures on Grand River fishing ( 9:00 min) ?
    because the regulation says :
    Credit River and its tributaries - Town of Caledon in Regional Municipality of Peel, Upstream of Old Baseline Road
    Only artificial lures may be used
    Only 1 single-pointed barbless hook may be used
    Brook trout, brown trout and rainbow trout - S-0 and C-0.............

    Don't worry about that pike. Studies show whether barbed or barbless pike can shake out the lures. Just for my peace of mind I always use barbless.
    If I cann find the university that did that study on pike, il send a link.
    Great video!!!

      Thanks for commenting. That would be very helpful and I would like to read that study. I will be going barbless as well this season. I do with the trout species

    I think I know where you are here, I was about 5-7 km downstream today after getting skunked trout fishing and thought it would be a good idea to try walleye after the clouds rolled in and the wind picked up. Caught one 10 incher, saw way too many suckers and a decent pike that wouldn't take anything lol.....do you find that the walleye move around a lot in that part of the river?

      @HookLineandKyleP  2 года назад +1

      Yes it was so weedy and stained all day when I went out with friends. It would not have mattered if you were using Texas rig since the weeds so thick. I have seen a ton of suckers as well.

      @@HookLineandKyleP I hear ya, every 2nd or 3rd cast I was removing clumps of weeds and it didnt matter if I was fishing bottom or mid water lol....looking forward to the next video, cheers!

      Oh that's cool. I have heard of Ecogear paddle tails before, but never used them. Are they good?

      That jerkbait was a Floating jerkbait by Rebel. I can’t remember the actual bait name, but that’s what it said on the lip.

    How often do you get snagged when you fish in this type of shallow water?

    • @HookLineandKyleP
      @HookLineandKyleP  2 года назад

      I actually don't get snagged as much. As long as you keep the bait moving you'll be okay.
