@@TheThemeParkAmateur You should definitely do that. I cannot imagine someone loving theme parks being disappointed with Europa Park. I hope to visit Universal Islands of Adventure one day

Such wasted potential!!! The ride system is great! The onboard audio is perfect! The start of the ride looks fun and thrilling and even some of the outdoor sections are okay. But then it just….ends? Should have been twice as long and included dark ride sections full of dinosaurs.
People make fun of seven dwarfs mine train, but compared to this. It’s a phenomenal ride. It actually has a few nice drops and the theme meaning is spectacular compared to this ride. I kept waiting for the fun part to actually begin…
Seven Dwarves Mine Train is a pretty decent coaster with fun coaster elements and fun theming. Jurassic Flyers has a couple helixes and no substantial theming. Both are supposedly targeted to the younger audience. Kids would be bored waiting for Jurassic Flyers and riding it too…
The Mack Inverted Coaster technology is very enjoyable, gives it a great sense of speed. It’s a real shame the only thing to look out for is a bird’s-eye view of the park, rock work, the backside of water, and an oddly placed power generator prop.
I agree, but a ride is a ride. As long as you have a good time, it's awesome! Seeing the lagoon, and the innovation center had me nearly tearing up. I think, it's a beautiful ride.
This aviary setting would have better served as a housing for an upgraded version of the Pteranodon Flyers attraction. Even better with the Jurassic Park river adventure also passing through, it would be truer to the original Jurassic Park source material.
Jurassic Flyers definitely feels like a spiritual successor to Pteranodon Flyers, but the Beijing Jurassic World Isla Nublar does feel a bit lacking in overall theming, detail and atmosphere.
When the first POV dropped I was really disappointed but now that I look at it again it looks fun! Defently would've benefited from a proper dark ride part with a few scenes with animatronics, but the coaster part itself looks incredibly fun!
Such an awesome ride system. So sad there is no ride that really utilises it properly... This ride lacks the theming completly beyond the queue line. And the one in europapark is lacking in the coaster part of it, with only really one "fast" segment. I guess the system is just too expensive. Considering you really should build a proper darkride segment with it and a good amount of track. Not many parks are willing to do so sadly, rather focusing on somewhat cheap ride systems or standout thrill coasters. And with universal doing an absolut meh job with this ride, I guess we can only hope some european park might someday decide to do it properly, yet it seems unlikely in the near future...
The theming in the queue is already quite minimal, nothing really intriguing to look at. A few animatronic (or even static) dinosaurs would do so much to improve the theming, like what was done for Velocicoaster.
Not sure if I agree with your statement about Arthur. It delivers a great family experience which is what they were going for. I'm not sure about the statistics are but powered coasters can only go so fast. The cost is one thing, the appeal another. For all intents and purposes it's a family ride system that heavily relies on theming to the point where, in our current believe, it can make or break the coater type. Mack is a company that moves forward on what they learned from their previous builds. Logflumes turned into water coasters, powered coasters turned into inverter power coasters. Spinning coasters turned into extreme spinning coasters etc. So who knows, we might see a inverted power coaster 2.0 that can lean more on thrill. That will should create more space for coasters that should be less "meh" according to your tastes :)
@@beerfish109 don't get me wrong, I do think Arthur is a good ride. It fits really well in with the line up and general target audience of europapark. What I mean with 1 fast segment is, that arthur only really has one element of this: speed up phases 2:35 and 3:20 . I do understand why, afterall it's the first installation and the footprint it sits on doesn't allow for multiple spirals like with jurassic flyer. (on a side note, arthurs theme is so bizarr to me. The movies never were a massiv hit in germany and only had minor impact in france. Well only the first movie to be honest to begin with was somewhat popular. And with europapark now switching more and more to their own IP "Adventure Club of Europe", I wonder what the ride would have been like if it had been planned just 3 years later then it was.) the ride system has potential for more elements that enhance the coaster aspect of it, without making it too intense for a general family target. For example the swing motions as seen on jurassic flyer at 2:49. Then there are options utilising the speed up phases in conjunction with theming, think of something like a chase scene. In theory they could also akin to a wildmouse get more centrifugal forces from their tracklayout and adjusted vehicle orientation, but that might be too much. In the end it's a dark ride system and should primarly be utilies as such....
I think the best use of this system would be if there was some actual natural scenery, like if it whizzed you past some real cliffs and waterfalls or skimmed the surface of a lake or along a river. I suppose that would make emergency evacuations really difficult. This had floor through 70% of the course which I know Eastern parks like to do - I think it's a regulation that every foot of coaster has to have a side walkway even on parts where it's not likely to valley.
This idea would’ve been awesome if it was themed as an escape from the Jurassic park dinosaurs as they get loose in the park. This could also be an amazing kind of horror ride where there is a little bit of thrill but the setting is a haunted house or something but as a straight up coaster….. so awkward 🤣 but I can still imagine it being sort of fun if it was at a museum or something
@@TheThemeParkAmateur but velocicoaster has thrills and speed to make up for it. i think a slower more tamed ride like this could be used with some kind of thrilling story line where you can actually see whats happening
I'm impressed. Lot of negative comments and that's fine, it's their opinion but the stairway climb to the top of the aviary was pretty neat, and the break in the middle with the waterfall was good. Agreed, there should have probably been some dinosaurs but compare this to Pteranodon Flyers and this is 100x better, not to mention any adult can ride this.
Maybe I saw wrong, but it looked like there were side treadmills at load going slower than the main belt? That seems confusing and treacherous and I can't think of a reason why...unless they believe the main belt moves too fast to step directly onto and the slower treadmill is a midpoint speed? Neat ride system, looks thrilling without being too scary for families but it's like "ride through and around an empty hangar" with the only notable scenic highlight being the backside of water. I guess live birds are out because they don't want them escaping and flying into the ride path where they might strike passengers. All they needed was a couple nests of animatronic hatching pteranodons and maybe a couple of hatching labs you breeze past to give this experience a focus besides the interesting and novel powered vehicles with seat rotation.
There are side treadmills, good catch! On busier days, the coaster runs slightly faster with more trains for higher capacity. I presume for safety reasons, there’s side treadmills running slower to prevent guests from getting injured from the constant loading platform. The ride experience in itself is pretty great for guests of all ages, but yes it is definitely a “look at rocks and the rest of the park” and a “it’s the backside of water guys! See? It’s a reference guys!” Honestly wouldn’t mind a couple pteranodons on sticks, it worked fairly well with Velocicoaster. But for a Jurassic World ride, it does lack theming.
Forbidden Journey uses a ride system in which you are connected to a "vehicle" below that rolls on the floor, on this ride you are suspended from tracks above. Not really comparable.
is there any story behind why all that metal flooring under the ride? Like is that supposed to be an area where you're normally walking through but instead "fly" through it? Seems odd, especially in the caves, more like "ok here's a safety feature if the ride gets stuck, try to ignore it"
It's essentially the same ride as Arthur and the Minimoys in Europapark Germany, but without the animatronics and show scenes. Looks fun, but could be 10x better.
Seems like the initial thought was there , but it lacked the "Trills" that one might except from a Jurassic Park themed ride. Especially a ride that would be in a Beijing ran theme park , because they usually perform over and beyond expectation.
would actually be kinda cool if there werent as many huge catwalks everywhere. clearly they have sections that can operate without a catwalk. Having track above you with opaque catwalks diminishes any view you may have had
Why would you make a suspended Coaster and then put a walkway under almost every stretch of track? The excitement is gone when you can see there’s clearly no danger.
I would argue that the portions of walkways were in case of the ride getting an e-stop, but yes, they are very obvious and feel like they will chop off your legs.
It's almost sad how they took a ride system which is meant to have darkride elements and did absolutely nothing with it okay to be fair the views look quite cool
