it's fascinating that these songs work in this setting. the drums, bass, and electric guitars work so well that it's surprising the songs are still great like this.
Brave. ... Of course. Who wants to talk about what their songs mean. That's stepping on the magic of it all. ... True testament to the talent of these musicians that they can make beauty in a bare bones format.
wow I wasn't a super big 'future me hates me' fan before but this performance of it is amazing... definitely giving it another shot. love love love this band
I love this band! They are seriously one of my all-time favorites. I really wish people that interview Liz would stop asking her about the origin and meanings of these songs. She seems like a low key down to earth kind of person and they are little pieces of her. Low key people don't usually like to focus on themselves like that.
Future Me Hates me - Definitely one of the best indie album...Now that i have finished listening the whole album it's simply AWESOME!! Elizabeth Stokes simply reminds me of Molly Rankin from Alvvays...Really enjoyed the acoustic versions...ORIGINAL....Looking forward to see you in Chicago @ Logan Square Arts Festival...
if you seen them live they are a great tight band and are a bit heavier than the record giving the songs of this album more punch. they are great live and its the best way to hear them!

Don't say that - the other guys are much more than woo-ho-hooooo! 😀
Nice hearing acoustic versions of these tunes. Sounds great Liz! Gotta add, that's a really cool shirt Ben is wearing with the Baaaaad Mooooves cows :)
Found this after listening to the Beths for like 4 years now and I just realized I've never seen Tristan standing next to the rest of the band... idk why I thought he would be the tallest? Maybe bc he sits so straight at the drum set? Sounds great as always!
Ha Ha Ha Liz did smile when got the wrong chord, I saw that , I heard it , but I wont tell 🤫 Great song of the Beths , but you got to rock this, even in the middle of the desert in Austin , give them some Amps and Drums 😍 and of course some little wounder boxes like Distortion or Fuzz or so.
I personally dig the humble approach. You can tell they're nervous, brings it back to reality. To me that's what makes a band worth seeing live/ obsessing over.
Katie Everingham toured with The Beths last Fall and she is an awesome drummer (see The Naenae Express, among others), but when I saw them on that tour, she explained that she was jumping in to cover due to some unexpected circumstances. I thought she did an amazing job and would love to see her again with The Beths.
@@mrcoan7553 The dude in the video here is not the original member. I don't know his name.. The original drummer is Ivan Luketina-Johnston. His other band is Sal Valentine (not Valentino) and it's totally different musically and really well done. interestingly, you can see Liz and Jono are former members of that band. Check out the video for Cherry Blossom ruclips.net/video/nZ-EB5XU178/видео.html Very fun.
@@KeithPearce11 : Indeed! I am confused. I THOUGHT the guy in the SXSW video is that same guy, Ivan. I guess Beths go through drummers like Spinal Tap. :P Thanks for the link. Do you know so much because you're in New Zealand?
I'm totally in love with this band I can't stop listening to the lp over and over
If you are going through this life without knowing about The Beths, you aren't living your best life. 💛

A proper song works regardless of the arrangement
The way you know if a song is truly great is if you strip away all the theatrics, and it can still stand just on its most basic elements.
I’m in love with her voice! 😍🥰

Can't get enough of the Beths since Joe Scott talked about them. So glad I checked them out!
Saaaame lol. It really is feel good music. It's nice to ignore the world blowing up around us every now and then.

Love the barbershop trio to the left
This is soooooo charming.
I'm now, not sure if I love these versions or the album versions more. 😍

greatest band in the world right now
This is so good. Elizabeth sounds so great and then these dudes come in with these sweet harmonies.
They should record and release some of these acoustic versions
Love the smile at 8:28
obsessed with these guys, love love love them

I was surprised no one but she played any instrument lol Sounded awesome though!! I love her voice and guitar! :)

The Beths - unplugged
Looking forward to seeing you at SXSW in a few weeks. it’s always an interesting experience.
Que buena rola!
Such an inspiring performance. Flawless (almost)! And so exposed!
Liz is so beautiful
Great version! I feel bad for Jon, Tristan and Ben having to just stand there waiting for the backing vocals to kick in.

come back to TEXAS the Beths pls
:)
Liz is endearingly awkward with conversations. A lot of people, myself included, can identify with that.
Pro tip : watch series at Flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Albert Rodney Yup, been using Flixzone for years myself :D
@Albert Rodney definitely, have been using flixzone for since december myself :)
@Albert Rodney yea, have been using Flixzone for since december myself :)
The rest of the band poor guys hahahahaa well done for standing there tho!!!
Can we get an acoustic album from her please?
Great fucking record!
Every time i listen to the beths all I can think is “what was the writing process like??”
Thumbs up 👍 liked u
what mics are they using it sounds so good.
Someone let them go to the loo already
Could the rest of the band look any more awkward just standing there? Kinda love it though : )
Yet another reason we love New Zealanders, right?
it is hilarious isnt it!?
God damnit Liz you’ve got to get more into it than that! You’re the front woman of the best rock band in the world! Let’s get famous!
I personally dig the humble approach. You can tell they're nervous, brings it back to reality. To me that's what makes a band worth seeing live/ obsessing over.
@@MrOhyeah21 second this. I love her consistent mellow yet articulate energy, especially in her singing.
She's obviously a bit introverted. As long as she's singing, what do we care? She rules!
What happened to the female drummer

Keith Pearce thank you 😊
I wondered about the drummer switcheroo, too. Yes, she's a talented drummer! I think the dude is the original member, though, correct?
