With this, i am reminded as to why i love more accurately translated English versions of songs! It feels like its so rare to see nowadays. I very much like this version!
for those who struggle to follow video lyrics: Headed for the train, the express that connects all the distant cities, i'm late and it though, oh, somewhere down the line comes a time you'll have lost your words, so i keep them in hand in my pockets and rocking on the train, on the way as you sway, you can toss your worries away as you drift away! somewhere down the line, when the times comes you've lost your words, get on board on your slow-moving local train drown out the calls of everything routine, and all your thoughts in the night. stop and take it slow; you wanna lie low when you're walking the backstreet alone. so wait and take your time, you see the streetlight's clearly telling you. so look ahead, ignore the dread that lingers in the corners in your head. Headed for the train, the express that connects all the distant cities, i'm late and it though, oh, somewhere down the line comes a time you'll have lost your words, so i keep them in hand in my pockets and rocking on the train, with the dreams that wore away, when you drift away, you'll return to them anyways! somewhere down the line, when the times comes you've lost your words, get on board on the slow-moving local train busy by the day, with people on their way so bothered by their delays. go ahead and lay your down on the way until they've all gone away! you stay that way 'til in midst of more distractions, dismissed from school with rushed interactions held back because they can't hold back despite the fact they're told to wait the gates are closed, just like their arms are posed, because they can't just keep composed dozing on the train with the dreams that wore away from these endless days that'll fade when i drift away somewhere down the line, when the times comes you've lost your words - get on board on the slow-moving lagtrain. and when your words are lost again, i hope you know it's not so bad. no need to always be so blown away; to hurry anyways, to always ride the faster train with nothing left to gain today. so take it easy, take it slow, it's time you let your worries go! ME TOO OMGG I felt exactly how I felt when I first listened to LagTrain, that drowning feeling inside my heart 😭 Idk why but I think it’s the rhyming scheme and rhythm that really gets to you
I definitely prefer Will Stetson's version, but this is pretty cool too! This version lacks rhymes, but you get more of the story. Glad I stumbled upon this!
This song holds a lot of emotions and nostalgia for me, and I could never figure out why the original hit me harder than all the lovely English covers I heard. These lyrics really hit the feelings of the original and was the only English cover to bring me to tears like the original. I would absolutely love to use your lyrics to make a cover, if that would be alright with you!
I just want to come back here and say this is a masterpiece. Even if the rhythm and the rhyming scheme isn’t perfect, I really appreciate it. The meaning is delivered and conveyed, the lyrics flows well, and this part ‘Held back because they can't hold back despite the fact they're told to wait The gates are closed, just like their arms are posed, because they can't just keep composed’ I REALLY LIKE THE METAPHOR HERE HAHAHDNDM
This is a bit of a late reply, but what I find to be the best way to go about translations is to first have a solid understanding of what the actual story is in the song. From there, it's a matter of finding how to creatively tell it again while sticking to as close as you can in each line. When it comes to accurate lyrics, a lot of people think it should mean the same as "literal", but even direct translations that aren't restructured in a way lose meaning with how barely any songs can be taken "literally" to begin with. You can look at each part individually and say the translations here are essentially what's being said with some swapped around slightly to keep it understandable and I personally think a surprising amount can be considered "literal" (since a lot of the Japanese can have multiple potential "literal" translations as well), but when I say it's likely the most accurate translation I mean that in regards to what story is being told while most people have a darker view of it when it really isn't. I went into a lot more depth from the notes I had while making it in a response to a comment on the original upload, but this upload isn't even 1% as popular as the one I deleted on another channel.
@@Kitsu-P I love this explanation, thank you!!! I'm really reassured that someone else saw it as a more hopeful/contented song, and your translation really helped me feel that too ❤ I'm sorry this upload didn't do so well though!!

NOOO THIS ONE MADE ME FEEL THE EMOTION OF THE ORIGINAL 😭😭😭😭😭😭
It's such a relatable thing and it's so reassuring to hear someone else saying it, and that it'll be alright anyway, guh

This version does have rhymes. I do wonder about the "most accurate translation there is", though it's probably more faithful than Will Stetson's.
aplle jumpscare
This translation was definitely needed, you just earned a like and a sub👍
Well technically they never said the word “lagtrain” in the original lyrics so technically you could be 1% more accurate 🤓
I think this version is my favourite. I gotta write these down so I can sing them over the others, ahh
TYSM FOR MAKING THIS ✨✨✨✨✨✨
nobody mentioning this cool ass visualizer in the background !

I JUST LEARNED THIS ISN'T A HUMAN SINGING THIS IS SYNTHV???
Slower moving local train? I mean, I guess that's super accurate but.. It sounds so wrong
This is cool. Will you make translations like this for other songs by Inabakumori, like Kimi ni Kaikisen or Kitai Avenue?
cool
Am I allowed to sing a cover of the song using these lyrics?
of course
So how literal are the lyrics?
