How to: Fix Ford Sloppy Shifter! Detailed how I resolved my issue!

  • Thanks for watching! In the video I explain how I fixed my loose shifter due to one bolt falling out! I’m lucky enough I didn’t loose the bolt!
    Tools required:
    T30 torx
    1/4 ratchet and an extension
    Locktite

    Awesome! Thank you! My pin fell onto my foot and I had no idea where it fell from haha! Your video helped me see where to re-install it. Using the information I checked my T-30 bolts and since they were tight I was lazy and didn't unscrew them and Loctite.

    Now replace the two shifter shaft bushings and the shifter pin at the base of the shifter. It will be like new again.

    My 1999 F-150 Lariat was doing this so I tightened up the bolts but it didn't fix the problem. It wont even go into any gear.

      Then you need to do your due diligence and try to find where the prob is. If your shifter moves at those bolts, then check the trans side and see if it moves there. And go from there

    Take your middle bolt out. You have a bolt in the plunger bolt goes a little bit farther look at it take a picture with your phone its not right

      It’s not a bolt that part of the linkage. The two top/bottom are the only two holding it on.
