A Carolina rig is the 1st real technique i learned as a kid on Toledo Bend and I've caught fish all over Louisiana Texas and Arkansas on it... I have at least 1 tied on and on my front deck every time i go fishing but a lot of the time I have 2 a heavy one with like a 1oz and lighter one with a half oz. But what you're doing here is something i love doing during the spring right before they go to the bank... Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

Hey, love the video. I use smelly jelly pink flake by Tackle warehouse. I rub that on my worms and the bass love it. It really stinks. A jar of it is about $9.00. I order 5 or 6 jars at a time to avoid shipping cost. Those 5 jars will last 3 years. I got that tip from a Kentucky angler that has a winter house here in Lake Wales. He was catching bass and I wasn't. He then showed me his secret. Throwing same bait. Wow, what a difference. Don't get it on the boat carpet. It stinks and hard to get up. I lay a cloth down when I apply it to my worm. You get the picture.
I love fishing the stups with the light Carolina rigs here in nc we get finicky bass in it and that’s one of 2 ways to catch them the other is a jerk bait but it’s hard to beat the good ole Carolina rig in the stump fields

They were killing the grass where I fished in FL. Water clarity was crap too in those waters. Only lures we had success with were reaction baits with the dirty water.
It's really sad to see that happening to these great Fisheries and the results are even more disappointing ☹️

There's multiple waves of fish that move up I've seen fish spawn as early as October and as late as early May.

As an aside, while I fished with it periodically like most people do, I was never a fan of the C-Rig. Too boring for my style. That is until two years ago. I was out fishing with one of my Lake Fork guides. That day, Fork had been the plan, but the wind was just too high and spearing 2-3 footers just didn't really sound like a fun deal, so we decided to hit up a small lake just down the road. Was fishing the drain area (and by that I mean an ACTUAL drain that takes overflow and discharges it when the lake is high) when all the good happened.
I was dragging the "ball and chain" and being imminently bored by it when, all of the sudden, I had that solid "thunk" you get when a big one decides to latch on. Finally got it in and we hooked it up to the scale and it was a 10-1. Just a few minutes later with the same bait and rig in the same place, another "thunk" and I was into what turned out to be an 11-2. Being just a week-end hack, it had taken me nearly 60 years of finally accomplishing the lifetime dream of catching a DD. To get two in 15 minutes, was more than I could have ever hoped for. Goes without saying that nowadays, I am a huge C-rig fan. I had to say, that day, was a good day.
Dude first off congrats on the double DD that's insane I'm always scared when I hook a big one on that ball and chain just because they got that weight sort of swinging around awkwardly two or three foot in front of them. But no I'm not paid by Bait Fuel unless you're offering 😁
@@mikeybalzz LOL....... Thanks, dawg and I was just wondering. Even a blind hog can stumble around and get an acorn once in awhile. The first one, I was too shocked to think about it, but on the second one, I was definitely nervous because of that very thing. Too much weight, too far away from the hook, slinging around that ups the chance for it to become unbuttoned.
