    Randy, your point on fishing after a front is so true. I was about 35 when an old timer helped me figure this out, I am 74 now and always learning, good stuff Randy

    Most myths are started by people who can’t catch fish to explain why they can’t catch fish. I totally agree with the time of day being irrelevant. I caught my top 2 PB’s at 5:00 pm and then again at 11:30 am. If you are in the right place at the right time, you will catch fish. 🎣

      Did you ever hear of lunar tables and feeding times for fish, deer and birds. He must not get up early to see if the fish are biting. They always feed at daylight.

    As a kid i had bass in an aquarium and fed it shiners. It would eat until it was full and then catch the extras and keep them in its mouth so they must not be entirely driven by hunger.

    THANKS AGAIN!
    I am NOT a morning person, and after all of those freezing dawn fishing trips in North Wisconsin I have absolutely no intention of losing sleep to go fishing again in my "old age."😄😃 Seriously though, I have regretted not being able to go out early. I am disabled and early morning is a bad time for me. I am really working to get out and fish again. I haven't been able to for years, but it was something I really loved doing with my dad & sister. Now it's an incentive to get out of the house, even on the days I would otherwise be home bound. I sit on my rollator & just cast away.
    I Still haven't caught anything, but I've only been out practice casting twice! I'll let you know when we get a nibble or two!

    100% on alll this. This is the stuff people should be watching. Randy posts the juice. Theres one misconpetion I think of most often and that is you have to go deep to catch bass in the exterme time's of year dead of winter or dog days of summer.

    Several years ago I was fishing in northern Michigan after a couple of cold rainy days. The weather cleared and the temp rose by like 20 degrees. I was trolling a spinner bait out of a pontoon and caught 15 pike and my PB an 8 pound largemouth. It was probably the best fishing day I’d ever had.

    Getting up early to fish is a MUST for me. Why? I hate sweating like a hog in the middle of the hot day. Oh, wait…… Do hog’s really sweat? 🤔

    The time may matter more with conditions. When I was growing up fishing with my dad he preferred morning with outgoing tide. Tide mattered most to him. Since we lived in Charleston SC, I believe early and late was because it's FN hot in middle/ late day! He was also in a fishing club called Starlifter Bass Anglers, I believe. I have his notes and jacket put away. I'll have to check name now! 😁✌️

    So bass are sight feeders and can see the baits better midday, but most bass feed at night? I agree. There is so much we don’t know.

      I placed 2nd in a night time bass tournament many years ago and even got lucky to win big bass of the tournament. I threw nothing but a Berkeley 4" black powerworm curl tail. Go figure.

      If I recall, Randy has said that since bass eat mostly at night there's not much hope in trying to catch them during the day. Since he prefers to fish midday, I guess the two best times to catch a bass are midnight and noon.

    • @DennisMorgan-ls8sc
      @DennisMorgan-ls8sc 2 месяца назад +1

      Of course. Bass don't bite after a cold front. Anybody who has fished more than twice knows that. They go deep or on brush and won't move 2 inches to strike.

    Sir Randall when the wind is out of the east the fish bite the least when the wind is out of the west the fish bite the best when the wind is out of the south you catch a bigger mouth and when the wind is out of north you just don't go

    We won’t ever know what colors bass can see, and we will never be able to tell what they’re thinking. I do not think their brains are very complicated or complex. They hit lures that look like absolutely nothing alive, smart in their own way I feel.

    Quite a few big myths....Fluoro gets more bites...(probably true in crytsal clear water) can only catch bass on frogs with Braid, Braid + leader is a good idea, can't catch bass on topwater in the middle of the day, and many others...Bass are the ultimate predator in the world of fish, which is why they are targeted by so many anglers....nothing is guaranteed...oops, forgot....biggest myth...FFS is a tool....DEFINATELY not true 😂

    So I agree with 4 of your 5. However, Bass have dichromatic vision, they only have green and red color receptors (cones) in their eyes. They lack a blue receptor like humans. They cannot distinguish between blue, black and brown, chartreuse, white and yellow also all look the same them. Numerous studies have been done over the years which prove this over and over. The fact that bass will bite other lure colors has nothing to do with their color vision. Remember myth #2? Bass mostly bite lures for reasons OTHER than feeding.

  • @TheMIgrantFisherman

    Number 6. Bass are line shy. I can prove it. If bass are line shy, then explain why the Alabama (umbrella) rig is so effective that it is banned from tournaments. Fluorocarbon for bass is a scam.

  • @Shaqoneil81-ci7dr

  • @speedeetrim4028
    @speedeetrim4028 2 месяца назад

    heres another myth...you need a clear leader because bass wont bite...there needs to be a study on this...tons of Muskie anglers catch big fish with 50 lb steel leaders...doesnt bother the fish at all...but lets just concentrate on bass...everybody knows what an umbrella rig is...wire everywhere...never stopped bass biting...I have a huge problem believing you need clear line...I think its mental conditioning amongst anglers...I will say this...dropping down in line diameter is critical...why ?...it gives the presentation "loft"...making it look alive to the fish
