- So, story about this piece - I'd never heard of "Earth Girl Arjuna" and I'm still not entirely sure what it's about. However, over a year ago, I stumbled across a striking RUclips video of a series of KH sketches illustrating the "red string of fate". This song was in the background and I fell in love. Since the description was in Japanese, I had no idea what it was, and only last month was a friend able to identify it for me. I should have figured it was Yoko Kanno by the made-up language featured in it.
Anyway, instead of the actual context of this music, it will always remind me of the words:
“An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet,
regardless of time, place, or circumstance.
The thread may stretch or tangle,
but it will never break.”
Original music by Yoko Kanno
Live instruments: English horn, oboe, and literally one measure of piccolo
ENGLISH HORN. It is one of the best instruments ever, and you play it so well.
You always have the nicest comments and it means so much that you listen to all of these!

I loved your music before I knew you were an awesome person, so I'd have nice things to say anyway. But you are /also/ an awesome person and that makes me even happier to listen to your music!
I love this piece by Yoko Kanno so much and your playing is absolutely amazing, I couldn’t help but start to sing along. I’ll treasure this cover dearly, its beautiful.
this song has meant so much to me since i was a kid... when i heard this i started tearing up. it's so beautiful. thanks so much for this cover
I can't believe I've only just found your covers, they're outstanding! I've always loved woodwinds (& French horn) with the Oboe, Clarinet and Basoon being my faves. I mean the stuff you make is so fantastic, keep at it! ;u;
So brilliant! Great tone! I've improved my vibrato as much as I could. I was at band camp and in oboe master class, and they told us we'd get to try english horn. At the first signs of "what is that" I pulled up your songs. You're the reason I really want to try English horn. Thank you! But in the end it turned out that someone had taken it to practice on. :( I keep hoping for a chance to play it one day.
I absolutly love this, thank you so much for this Piece, hopefully there is chance i can hear pieces similiar to this in your coming Work this year.
I love all the music you play. The English horn and oboe sound amazing in this piece.
Can I just say that I love your music, it's always so beautiful! :D
Gorgeous.
Your playing is marvelous. Please consider doing more Kanno covers! On a side note - you might like to know that the Arjuna soundtrack prominently features the english horn on the song "Didn't it rain?", which I'd love to hear you cover.
Finding this video made my day :)
This song is real magic and you give it so much with this instrument. Can't get it out of my head..
I play alto flute and viola, but can't seem to find sheet music. Where did you find it? Can you tell me where to get it
Yayy outstanding cover Kristin!! All these wind instruments always bring me such peace and kind of a nostalgic feeling, if that makes any sense :p Also the intro reminded me a bit of Skyloft :3

Is there any sheet music for this song, I love the sound of it and English Horn is my favorite instrument to play, nice job with this cover by the way
May I know where u got the backing accomp track? Thanks!
Hi, I make all my backtracks from scratch, transcribing by ear. :) In this case, I couldn't wait to use some of my more 'twinkly' sound libraries I've been otherwise ignoring, haha.
Such an amazing production!!
