    I got my jackery explorer 300 (new version) lately, and there are some things ppl usually won't tell you on reviews, that This reviewer does:
    1. only 1 usb gives u PD and over 11w. other usb c and A are low wattage 10w-11w.
    2. The explorer (new version) doesn't have a designated port for solar panels. charging it from USB via solar panel, means u can't charge anything else during that time, for over 11w, unless using the DC port with a car charger or the AC appliance 220v port.
    3. when the AC port is on, even without anything plugged in (no load), will drain the battery pretty significantly. (around 1% every 30 mins)

      Wow. I think I might try an Ecoflow. Seems like a better value.

    I bought the old model like 3 years ago. Still going strong. I buy another one when it fails but it could be another 3 more years .

    I own multiple small solar batteries and my Jackery is the most reliable by far. I might pick up the new 300.

    I have 2 of the 1500 pro’s. Im a wedding DJ and using those for my more secluded events that don’t have power. Just purchased this new 300 plus for my cocktail systems that will only be used for less than a 1 hour / 1 and a half at most.
    Just figured it would be nice for the size and I just bring the 1500 pro for when it’s really needed

    Thanks for the thorough explanation on the difference between NMC and LFP batteries. I decided to hang on to my old 300 rather than upgrade to the 300 Plus after watching your video.

      Good choice. I wonder if Jackery will consider making a NMC version of this new 300 Plus (since they are now making both versions of their other models).
      400wh, and bring back the 8mm input that can do atleast 200w solar, with this new design and features!

    I use my 300 to light my room every night with a 10w lightbulb, charge phone and run a 12v fan, and it last all night no problem, the 300 for me was a hit....I don't see a dedicated solar input on this new model other than the usb c, which is weird...

    What about leaving jackery in my car during summer the car gets very hot. Is that a waste of the battery? I want it for emergencies and having power without idling. For a fan etc

    • @SoGenFan
      @SoGenFan  5 месяцев назад +1

      I would highly recommend getting the "300 Plus" model with the LFP (LiFePO4) battery for that since that battery type can handle higher temperatures.
      If you plan to leave it in your hot car a lot, you should try to atleast keep it as cool as possible (use a windshield sunshade, tint your windows, park in the shade etc) and always store the Jackery in a shaded area inside the car (do not leave it where it will get hit with direct sun).

    A 300 Plus that also has minuses when compared to the original 300. I'm confused with the different charging claims. If the only charging input is the PD100W port why are there big differences in charging times? They even show two different times for their 40w panel. 7.5 Hrs and 9.5 Hrs.

      People want LFP power stations, so Jackery delivered. There's a reason Jackery was so hesitant to switch to LFP, as shown here in this direct comparison.
      Modern LFP tech that Jackery and many other brands are using is quite good though (remember LFP is actually older tech than NMC). It's not like old LFP batteries, which would have been MUCH larger and heavier.
      Here we are talking about only around 10% larger. The other issues such as self-discharge, long-term cell balancing issues, and cold performance have also been improved, however they are still not as good as NMC.
      Most people want LFP for the long cycle life. However, in my other videos I have talked about this, for most people they won't see a difference and NMC will last just as long as LFP. Unless you are cycling it a lot everyday, doing passthrough charging constantly (even with UPS relay - if you are charging with DC power i.e. solar and outputting power simultaneously) and especially as I mentioned in the video - doing those things in high temps, you definitely want LFP.
      For most of Jackery's customers, they know their customer base quite well, and know most people use these powers stations occasionally, and NMC batteries are still better for occasional use. They will hold charge over a long period (many months) and they will hold charge pretty well even in cold temps.
      The safety advantage of LFP is well documented, and you can't argue that. NMC batteries in a well protected outer case with an advanced multi-layer BMS, such as what Jackery does, still have a very good safety record. And smaller capacity batteries obviously reduce the risk as well. For people on the fence about it, consider that the FAA allows up to 99wh NMC on planes (always check the latest regulations). The more wh, the worse things could be in an extreme event. For larger power stations, LFP makes more and more sense. Here, in this comparison, it's pros and cons.
      LFP is also more sustainable and has less environmental impact during the mining / manufacturing process, and as a result is actually a cheaper battery to produce. This is another reason companies are switching to LFP and telling you how great they are - more profit!
      And 500 FULL cycles to 80% is still a lot for occasional use. Most people don't do full cycles, and I try to remind people on this channel it's not good for the battery (both NMC & LFP) to discharge till it dies and then charge back to 100%. Keep it between 10 and 90% most of the time. In an emergency situation you can use it all. And 80% of new capacity is still a high number, most people won't even notice that!
      All that said, I still picked the new LFP 300 plus as the winner, with only a few exceptions. Even with the downsides of LFP, the benefits outweigh them imo. Plus the 1 hour quick-charge, app, "EPS", flat top, led light, and new informative color display screen are all nice features to have. The old 300 will still serve you well, and in some cases as mentioned, even better. At the end of the day, buy the one you like the best!

      The main difference it the battery they used. It will last like 10x longer than the older model.

      @@SoGenFanSmart man!!! Bluetti EB3A has Lifepo4 batteries as well. Most do now. I will promise you something breaks on that power station long before the battery hits 3,000 cycles. Run your NMCs hard. Lol much easier to maintain. Do not upgrade until broken and worn out. Lifepo4 tech and charging is better than it was but it's not worth upgrading unless your constantly cycling that pack.
      Yes they do self discharge much quicker must turn units completely off to avoid Bluetooth connection and self drain. NMCs hold the charge a long time. Batt storage as well LifePo4s like to be charged to 80%. NMC charge it up put it away lol. 80% rule applys to all batteries in most cases. But NMC I would be less worried about

    Why doesn’t the 300 plus come with a car adapter like the 300? 🤔

    • @SoGenFan
      @SoGenFan  6 месяцев назад

      I guess they assume you have usb output from your car - although most cars won't output much from the built-in usb ports. A usb charger (with atleast PD 60w) for the 12v car socket is your best bet.
