  • A brief comparison of the Swiza D03 to the Victorinox Spartan, Pioneer, and Electrician Swiss Army Knife (SAK). Links to making a corkscrew compass/sewing kit and a corkscrew ferrocerium fire starter. Reposted for clarity to show actual cutting edge length instead of blade length in diagrams. My apologies for lost comments. ElderEagle

    Nice short review.
I have an early version of a D04 and that had many small design flaws (can opener sharp outer edge, bottle opener slipping, very bad Phillips tip), partially fixed by Swiza on later models.
I like the way it looks, but I hardly ever carry it. I much prefer Vics, especially Alox.
The only things I really like more on the Swiza than on my Vics is the tweezers, and sometimes maybe that thinner but big blade.
The fragile awl and the tools digging into my palm with a stronger grip are big negatives for me.
Oh, and I can unlock my blade by BENDING the whole knife... I don't feel that good about that lock.

I have the first version of the Swiza and like someone has commented below, it has a lot of design flaws. That model is just unreliable and I hardly ever carry it. Victorinox, with 100 plus years of experience, wins by far.

Yes, I agree, Victorinox has set the standard. The Swiza has its place and provides an alternative design for those looking for a different take on the SAK.Too bad about your unreliable Swiza. You might follow-up with Swiza for warranty work.

Interesting, I'd never head of Swiza. I guess I'm just used to my Victorinox SAKs.

Swiza got very good blade ,but that awl is failure it will bend
In comparison with Swiza victorinox non locking soft steel blade is not at all atractive
My opinion want pocket knife buy Swiza
Want tools like awl, caplifter ,screwdriver etc with good functionality buy victorinox

My Swiza awl broke off while lightly drilling in a coconut. Luckily I also brought my victorinox!
