Much love & and gratitude for your selflessness in sharing your gift, skills, and talents with great poise; more especially living righteous in what infinite gratitude looks like in real time💪🏾 All Gas No Brakes King🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Keep it, Blazin' 👏🏾💯🏁
It’s a whole lotta Alfredo in this video young king IYKYK ✊🏾💯👏🏾
I do this through my Apollo, but never printed in pro tools. Good shit bro
Appreciate you & yeah that’s what ppl overlook tho cuz the UAD console gives you the “industry “ quality plugin wise going in. But it’s goood to see more ppl understand that they have the option to record kinda like the major artists
crazy quality! impressive
appreciate you
youre a real one bro thank you!
This is dope, also love the How I Met Your Mother in the background tv 😂
Bro great vid 🔥
amazing bro , tks for the video
THANK YOUUU THANK U
My boy
Ba this was fire
appreciate you
Jason uses the Neve 88RS in unison with compression engaged when recording YB 😌
If you print the effects through the console it doest record the aux though by default right ? (Like is it possible to only print the compression but to still do the reverb/delay in post
🔥🔥🔥
HEY. What if you already have a pretty good microphone preamp, would I still need to take the same steps is four is recording with Mike Breann through universal audio?
Who Tf Made The Beat 🔥 Hi-Hats Dancin Onnat Bit Fr 💯 Thanks For The Vid
Been looking for plugins to really up the quality and this what I needed man thank you
Another 2 options are the uad native ManleyVoxBox or Avalon 737 VT
@@SKYJORDXNI noticed on your record track you only had the seven band eq plug-in on there alone on your inserts tab. How does this effect the sound itself as a whole, did you use a template?
@xavierreid9995 you looking at the wrong track. The one to focus on is the print aux above it. the record tack is only the record the audio the mic is on my tune track
@@SKYJORDXN bet
Ima hugh fan of tht CL-1B 🔥 I see y ppl love tht conpressor
It’s the 🐐
I usually don’t do this because I like to record the raw vocals you get from the mic dry and add everything else after because what if you just need the raw vocals with no effects to send out for someone else to mix? But you’re right they record through a compressor like the one you mentioned or like the Avalon vt-737sp so low key it already be on point when they print it but then nggas be using templates once they made a hit out that session, keep the same formula, but this is dope to knock out songs fast
Yeah it’s all preference based cuz depending on what’s going on. But in cases if I was going to have to send off the stems etc I’d have to communicate with the other engineer involved and then base it off that
@@SKYJORDXN exactly but most of the studios I’ve been to they were always running through an outboard compressor/eq while recording just like how you showed, that neve sound the best sound
Tryna give me some pointers?
I'm wating for them to make the Avalon universal like their other plugins! Buing it day 1!!!
Bro this track is awesome! How can I find it and where can I listen to it?
Hardddd🔥🔥🔥
What mic do you use and recommend for great sounding vocals? RnB, Pop, and Afrobeats/mostly
Dope Video bro! I fw the pacing of your videos aswell as your insight 🤟 imma have to test it out in my pro tools template
I was pretty surprised to find out this the “industry standard” recording chain. It’s how I found my sound. Been doing this since UAD spark dropped lmao. I just use LA-2 compressor instead. And Valhalla supermassive for my reverb/delay on the recording track anyways
@@auxnate4517 that’s because it’s not the “industry standard” there is no industry standard in mixing nor recording.most big Time engineers don’t even use this chain yet they stay putting out hits. Whatever work just works
@@BR_READDY225 Yeahh, I’ve grown to just use my ears a lot more now… when I track I just use low cut eq, rvox, pitch correction, and a hint of verb+delay just have a vibe during recording. Helps my creative flow… and really, if recorded properly, I don’t need much more then that.. just depends on the song. I’ve come to learn the less is ideal…
You’ll be saving my life by answering this question: how do you record your tutorial audio while playing the audio of your session at the same time? Do you have 2 systems recording simultaneously?
Thank u for the video Sky!
It's possible to it without needing a dual recording setup by using OBS, (free software.) A good audio interface would be recommended, personally I use a Focusrite Scarlett.
There's a short video on here that explains exactly how to do it, which helped me figure out how to do it recently. It's called "Setting up Scarlett with OBS // Focusrite". So I'd recommend searching for a tutorial on whatever audio interface you plan on recording with along with OBS in the search. Hope this helps!
i like your work flow
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate you
I don’t get the routing between the Tune aux and recording track
where is the link with the vocal chain to download ?? i use studio one 5. its works ?
Proving that Sky is one of the the smartest people in the game
appreciate you gang
Do you like the Atlantis more or the Eden?
Which software are you using?
Can you give the settings for the neve and the c1 please?
Hello how to fix, when recording vocals but also recording the beat? I want to record vocals only so I can add effects.
I’m confused on what u asking… I wanna help tho
what kinda tune he uses?
to all where can i find this beat brothers please sos
any video about neve pre settings? AND do u put additive eq in ure vocal chain after since u already boosted in ure pre
There’s no set settings. It depends on what you’re trying to do. The mic pre isn’t EQ . It’s it’s own thing cuz you don’t have to use the EQ part on the neve.
i was thinking of picking up the neve 1073 and the tube tech and the Avalon VT-737 and lastly the Distressor Compressor since UA is doing a sale with the pick 3 get 3 free
I have the Avalon and Distressor too gonna be doing different videos for different chain combinations
I got the tube tech and other plugs in including autotune tap in with me
DO IT! They doing 3 months if they subscription for 99 cents.neve is included as well as LA2A compressors and shut. UAD>waves.
you should post the links to the plug ins
🔑🔑🔑
@sky jordxn what hardware interface are you using on this?
Are those plugins vst3
Apollo twin and one is native and the other one cl1b is uad powered
hey bro, what are your autotune settings? Sounds like classic, right?
can you tell me how you set up your flextune and so on? Greetings from Germany
I don’t use classic mode or flextune. I have an autotune pro X tutorial that I show how to use it and how I like to use it
Where you get the neve
UAD has it. They include the neve and a lot of other legendary analog plugins in they “UAD spark” subscription which is only 99 cents for 3 months rn
I'm using plugins but what's the best order for them I'm using autotune - > 1073 - > tube tech? Or autotune after the preamp plugin
You can go tune first but you don’t have to print the tune but that order is fine I usually put it first in my chain just didn’t for this video
Use auto tune in your DAW if you are going to print it (using it through an aux track to print it) only use UAD auto tune if it’s cheaper to buy through UAD (from a sale) or if it’s all you got. From my experience, UAD auto tune (real-time) doesn’t catch notes as effectively as Antares techs auto tune.
UAD’s auto tune is the same as anteras. Cause it’s still auto tune pro. Just not as updated as anteras. But honestly I fw anterad auto-tune EFX more then pro, for some reason lol
how do you record live with the autotune on?
Put on your channel strip
Aye can you teach me how to do this on the program i use
What DAW u use bro I got you
I have these plugins but I have a shure sm7b mic. do u think that could be why my autotune just isn't coming thru as strong as you demonstrate? also I am experiencing latency with auto tune realtime x. I mute my daw but it doesn't appear u muted your daw and it's coming thru just fine. kind of wondering what I should do in this situation. when I go to my preferences in logic and hit low latency monitoring it turns the plugins off.
I did a video on how I record in Logic Pro X a few weeks back walking through my whole process showing how I setup everything.
But far as the tune hitting that really depends on your vocal performance and my voice naturally has a Autotune type of sound to it so it be a bit more at times
thank you I will look for the video now. I was told this was a good mic so I was kind of confused@@SKYJORDXN
@fuego448 the mic isn’t the problem. If it doesn’t work I’ll have to try and help you over zoom or something
I’ve gotten decent on mixing I just still don’t like how my reverbs and delays hit sometimes. Can you do a vid on how to decide on the timings and such w reverbs and delays
I feel you with this too! Help!
@@jermainesturrup2219 tbh I use vahalla supermassive and go w they presets until I like what I hear and blend it on on a separate bus. But Ik I could do better.
same issue with delays here. tutorial would be cool
Y'all need to eq your reverbs and EQ
google reverb calculator
what would the settings be if I used waves class-76 and 2A since I don't have the tube tech?
It varies, not really a concrete answer. Most ppl go 76 with the frank ocean preset in the plugin into the CLA 2A with a 40 on gain and 50 on the right . That’s what most people have in the Yeat preset and that’s why everyone pretty much likes it without knowing that those 2 plugins kinda create the tube tech
aye thank you.... I'm sure ill have to tweak it but its start... appreciate it
For sure that’s the message I’m tryna show cuz everyone will need different settings for what they’re creating
You want to hit 3-5 db of compression on each on the second one I go all the way to 7 if I use the tube tech
@@SKYJORDXN UAD has great presets included w most of they plugins. You can almost just use presets lmao. But I still tweak.
so nobody gonna talk about how this gotta be Lil Durks brother?
Lol the world would never know 🤧
I got a question, would it even make sense to use a vocal chain and a vocal mixing preset, I mean the vocal chain is for prior to mixing and a mix preset would be the final mix basically but would it make sense to use both?
Think of it like this…
Artists go record at the studio to use the gear and record their vocals through the gear
Then their engineers mix the song and send it off to mastering engineers to master the song
@@SKYJORDXN Right right, okay so basically it would make sense than, I only ask cause I basically do everything as an I’m my own engineer, and everything, I’ve learned a lot as far as mixing but I’m not dat great wit mixing so that’s why I’m using presets for all my new songs to come but I do have some vocal chains with slate digitals VMR I set up that sound pretty good alone, I like how my voice sound with it
@TRKG27 work on your tracking chain to where you vocal sounds to the point where you have to do minimal work when it comes to mixing
@@SKYJORDXN I gotcha, Preciate it💯💯💯
Whats the Tuny Settings?
my retune speed always 0
what are other options if i dont have uad like tubetech and the p.reamp
CLA 2A and the 1176 Can make up for the tube tech and waves has their version of the 73
I like UAD’s better personally tho
Can you do an fl studio version of this please 🙏🏾
It’s the same bro. Just a diff workflow. Tbh fl is not where it’s at for recording. Idk why everyone hopped on a beat making DAW. I mean ik you can record but compared to Pro tools, logic, and studio one. The workflow is ASSSSSS. For recording. But everyone has they preference. And used to using what they been using.
I can help you out tho if you don’t know how to set the session up. Then you can save it as a template and be good to go
@@auxnate4517 I really appreciate it. I know fl has “printing” similar to that of pro tools and like you said there is a sort of workaround, but pro tools is miles ahead of fl studio in the recording department
@@auxnate4517 pop smoke first songs was recorded on fl like Dior & da first tape and dats before all the upgrades
@@michealelliotta lot of songs were made on fl . I just don’t like the workflow at all.
Iam not getting how to fix the vioce
It’s all in the preamp mostly. A strong but clean Input signal and low cut eq along w a lil boost on the high end of eq.. the compressor is there just to keep the vocals level and tamed.
Bruh it's durkio on my skcreen.
So is it ok to clip if you record through plugins? How do you get it to not sound distorted
I’m not clipping. Digital or analog when you can push the mic pre or compressors harder for the desired sound.
@@SKYJORDXN on my pro tools it just makes it sound super distorted and I don’t even be using the gain on my interface but I just updated to the apogee duet 3 maybe the focusrite just sucked
👉🏽
It's good brother
Where do you get the neve pre? Is that a wave plug in or what?
it's a uad plugin and uad spark plugin
@@SKYJORDXN bet thanks for the reply love your content man, keep it up
giving way too much sauce lmao speeds the workflow
What you talking about it's not good to keep knowledge to yourself this is what it's all about
You forgot avalon vt747, this is the Arista Records secret
Are you running the tune channel through a mono Aux into a mono audio track for this Vocal Chain
Mono
So the recording track and the tune chain track are both mono audio tracks
Yes
Nvm I see how dumb my question is I just never seen that tracking style
It recreates the uad console / printing like recording through analog gear
@sky Jordxn brooooo you just gave away the whole game lol great Vid Though
lol it'll be people who still complain because "they don't have the settings" but don't understand they depend on the artists preference etc.. crazy how people overlook that 2 pieces of gear used before vocals hit the daw fr
If he really wanted to start rapping he could actually get signed I know he making money ghost writing for people 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
i allready knew this
How to do this ..printing the vocals thru plugins recording
do you need the mic mod ?
No
Nahhh it just gives you a lil more “expensive sound” if you have a good mic , you prolly won’t even notice much of a difference. What I say good mic I mean like a AKG p120/p220 or something like that.
ig you done have those two specific plug ins what could you use from waves??
Waves has the schelps 73
CLA 2A and 1176 the 1176 and 2A together make the cl1b
Yo do you know how to fix bluetooth delay on Bandlab
That cannot be fixed
@@Rck-vert F- bruv gotta use the cord one
Don’t use bt EVER
@@auxnate4517 fr fr
How to get that nice crispy "Air in the high end. I think its a trick im not familiar with! Help anyone
Just boost the high end on the eq a lil. Can also use things like “shimmer” or slates “fresh air” but in the end it’s just EQ.
@@auxnate4517 Thanks... got this rothair plug in but I thinks I will stick to just eq
@@jermainesturrup2219 most of mixing is all in EQ, compression and saturation bro if you master those things, it’ll all comes together. Also vocal performance and mic placement trumps everything. I recommend use “fresh air” by slate tho for a even better crispness. It’s a great tool
@@auxnate4517 Say No more. Thanks Nate. Trying to get these vocals to sit right on top of the beat without the instrumental being too low in quality! Mixing really is an art. In your spare time, Check some of my mixes on my page and tell me what I need to improve on. class in session!!
@@jermainesturrup2219 I got you bro, I have audio movers so we can do a session. I can record you and explain everything I’m doing and you’ll see it. Just lmk when you have time. I’m free all day until the 3rd
AND THIS SHIT TALKING LOUD , EYAHEH
at which hz you do your lowcut?
just cut where you need it its not the same everywhere
Cut it just enough to where it sounds natural and not too thin.
@@daks9k wow thats exactly what i do but i asked for HIS LOWCUT! not how to use my own -.-
Outside of this video I usually cut the lowest amount cuz I’m also cutting on my mic going into the interface so I would cut more than 100 on the neve personally
@@SKYJORDXN thank you so much ma brotha
Bro, plugin boutique has a $50 special for all essential plugins!! 11 plugins for $50!! I paid and they are all licences (not demos) in my ilok!!!!
Definitely a steal
@@SKYJORDXN after watching your show I went to rent UAD plugs, daaammmm! they are for real! but I cancelled and was offered $10 a month to stay haha, now I rent UD for $10 month and own the essential 11!, im after the NEVE for keeps so I dont subscribe
@OfficialFatLip the neve is definitely one you’d want to own forever ♾️
I have the hardware vocal chain and to be honest it's not all that great you the engineer. I like recording with 1073, 1176ln into a prism sound
