I went to Provence in Sept 2021 and this video definitely helped me to plan my itinerary. I rented a car in Avignon and drove out to visit many of these towns. My favorites were Isle La Sorgue and Menton - just past Nice on the French Riviera.
@@lemonsandlavender Michael, it was extremely uncrowded in Oct 2021 (due to the shadow of covid no doubt) but that added to the charm. By far the best surprise was Menton - I spent a whole day on that same pretty little beach you were standing on. In restaurants and around town you could hear as much Italian spoken as French.
I had some fond memories left at Arles, Alés,Nimes and Avignon. The charm in Arles was particularly powerful...the awakening in dawn summer. Thanx for sharing your experience in Provence. 👏👍👌
I love your videos. Can you please tell me the bossa nova tune at like 4:10. I have heard that on several videos and love it and I am trying to find it
Your Portuguese is very good, I don't know Provence but I'm eager to go there, while I can't travel due to the closed borders I look for places to add to my itinerary 😊
@@deniseoliveira728 Yes we also can not travel. No new videos for 18 months. So sad. I hope we can travel again, but I don't want to take the vaccine. I dont trust the government, especially ours. Full of dangerous people who only want power. SO, if France and the rest of Europe requires a vaccine, I don't know what I will do. Maybe Chile and Mongolia.
I believe and hope, we have the sky and clouds to behold, we have nature around us and the positive energy of people who want a better world....Believe!!!
@@lemonsandlavender ..... My husband & I spent 10 days exploring the Normandy region & just recently got back. Hello chance upon your video. Plan to go in January. Which town should I be based in to travel around Provence ? Am thinking of Avignon or Aix but I saw many other pretty towns. We are driving so would like a place w easy access and parking too.
I prefer a town of 5k to 20k people. Therefore, I like I'isle sure la sorgue. Gordes and Bonniux, although amazing are too small. In my opinion, Aix and Avignon are too big. Not too much to see in Avignon anyway. See my L'isle sur la Sorgue video.
@@lemonsandlavender thank you. Didn’t know there is nothing much in Avignon. I was thinking of the L’isle as la gourge as well due to reading it being a place of vintage . I might consider that thank you .

My favorite village provençal is Moustier Ste-Marie .

Have you considered they're touristy because they are some of the most beautiful villages in Provence? I fully admit there are some villages that may have some more natural beauty (Crestet just up the road from Vaison has incredible views), but one of the reasons people love towns like Vaison, Roussillon, and L'Isle sur la Sorgue is that they have all of the amenities and you can spend a weekend there walking around and not having to get it your car. I have 30 restaurants, 6 groceries, 6 bakeries, 4 wine shops, a hospital and a dozen sites of interest all within a 15 minute walk from my front door...not to mention one of the biggest weekly markets in the area.
..wonderful video of Provence, one of the most beautiful places on the world..thank you very much..
thank you for your kind comments
what I like most is that you almost do not show yourself, just the necessary, nor you talk. Thank you
Yes, some want to be a youtube star
Was in Provence this fall. Arles was my favorite. Beautiful and artsy. My kinda vibe.
Provence is the best region in the world
Great video
Loved Arles too. Loved all of it. Can't wait to go back.

Great video thanks! I'm planning to go to Provance in September for a month
Cool, one town that I regret missing is Lourmarin, just a little south of Bonnieux. It think its worth seeing.
Nice variety. Nice detail. Beautiful pictures and great overview of the area! The music was not too overwhelming!
Thanks for the nice comments. I'll keep doing what I'm doing. Have a great day
I love that Vaison la Romaine made your list! Your view of the Roman ruins was taken just outside of my home.
Tanks, Merci, for that splendide virtual trip in France 🇫🇷 😀

The Provence is everywhere beautiful :)
No mentions Les Gorge du Verdon(Canyon) is very beautiful Thanks from France
It's a wonderful life
Drinking Coca-cola and beer in Provence, how interesting! With all the wonderful wines surrounding you...
Weird huh. Actually we had our share of wine, too but you make a good point.
Do it have public transportation from one village to the next liked Cinque Terre (Italy) ?
That's a good question. I'm not sure but I would expect to find buses. But it won't be as good as in Cinque Terre with the train.

Not in provence
You are very correct, but I decided to include it anyway.
But it is often included in Provence on many maps. I can point you to one if you would like.
PACA Provence Alps Côte d’Azur is the name of the province
NICE VIDEO. BUT LOUSY MUSIC, NOT SUITABLE, HAS RUINED THE WHOLE THING.
You have simply picked the best known most touristy towns. Not much imagination...could have done this video from my easy chair.

Des Brittain, but he doesn't talk throughout the video, just on introduction.
