I honestly don't know... I never examined it from that perspective. But it IS an interesting question, so perhaps someone could chime in with an answer.
@@Foxbat9000 I found out there was a factory high speed option and I found some examples for sale. So probably a diy conversion is not worthwile as a capstan spindle and modification to equalisation curve is necessary.
@@Justas-M As you probably know. when it comes to modifying machines such as B77 there are two ways. One is increasing the capstan rotation speed by changing the drive circuit. But the correct one involves replacing the capstan motor shaft with larger diameter part. There is actually the second mounting position in the chassis. So I presume the G36 has similar provision. A tube unit running at 15ips is an interesting possibility... maybe I will look into it later. The EQ modification should not be complicated.
@@Foxbat9000 I would be grateful for any further input you may have. There are working units for as low as 150eur available(basically for the price of tubes inside), so if the motor can possibly be moved further, a slide on part could maybe be manufactured to slide onto the existing capstan motor shaft..
This is one of the many machines in my collection that is patiently waiting for me to repair/restore it one of these days...
❤
Nice and beauty setup
Hi, indeed sounds great on all videos I checked out on RUclips. Do you know if it is hard to modify to 15ips? What exactly needs to be done?

That would be nice, but alas, no. 7.5ips.
