U can get a cheap set of hydraulic bonnet lifters sometimes from tactical racing or pricier Nrg ones. Personally i would save up and get the nrg ones.

Im only 3 mins in but your idle problems could be idle control valve. Common on K20's.
EDIT: Ok maybe your issue was the not so good job on the idle assist delete
