Get one of those emergency car kits with a small first aid kit, a cable jumper if your car dies, and a flashlight! I just keep it in the back just in case of emergency, especially at night.
I was close, I guessed 25. My tip for keeping a tidy car, no matter where we have been or how long our journey is/was, we take everything out of the car that doesn't live in it when we get home. Even if it means a few trips to the house. It helps when it's time to clean it. I love upholstery cleaners!! Love cleaning videos. They are so therapeutic. Thanks for sharing!!

My car looked like that when my children were young, now they are grown and my car is always clean. However, now I have my two grandchildren ages 5 and 3 so grandma gets to deep clean again and I love it. Also love the way you hang your cleaner on your jeans

A friend told me to use a spray bottle with water on furniture and car uphostery (I added grapefruit and lemon essential oils to it). Then when you vacuum the stuff that was stuck to upholstery comes off much easier. I have a dog that sheds year round and this trick works on the car and living room furniture.

Pro Tip, if you take one of those like portable steam machines and like steam the back of the seat or the seat in general it gets rid of any kind gunk pretty easily and makes things look pretty shiny afterwards. I will steam my seats and any kind of sticky residue and it comes off SO easy afterwards.

I try to take out all the snack wrappers and big pieces of food (besides the crumbs) + anything she brings in the car (socks, shoes, cups, toys, etc.) every time we get out of the car. I also keep a grocery bag in the front for any trash I we accumulate while driving (straw wrappers, receipts, etc.). Then I vacuum it probably every 2 weeks. Makes it a lot easier to maintain the mess! Takes about 2 minutes every time we get out of the car just to pick up the big stuff & 20 minutes to vacuum every 2 weeks, vs the hours of mess to clean up if I don’t stay on top of it!

For captains chairs you can use a t-shirt over the seat back. I’m not sure if you’re able to in your car though,if so it’s an easy fix for messy feet.Please make sure to attach the tether on your forward facing seat?it didn’t look like it was attached.

I just found your channel this past week (now a subscriber) and have been going back watching your previous videos. Great car clean!
I do want to point out since you spoke about car seat safety. I am a certified child passenger safety technician/instructor. Since you switched your oldest forward facing you need to make sure you are top tethering her car seat. It’s that hook that was dangling from the top back of the Safety 1st car seat. It connects to the top tether anchor points on the back of the vehicle seats just below the head rest. This is a MUST safety feature and helps prevent head excursion (forward head movement) in a crash. Also, Your vehicle seats need to be in the upright position when installing a car seat. That information is found in the vehicle owners manual under child restraints. Lastly, Seat protectors are not allowed on every car seat manufacturer on the market. While Graco & Safety 1st (Dorel) allow them but other manufacturers do not. I would be careful recommending anything car seat related for liability reasons.

Here are some tips I recommend trying to help keep your car cleaner 1. Buy and use reusable sandwiches bag for the girls snacks one you will save waste and money over time. Two get a cereal container put a plastic bag in it and use as a trash can. Three like you said definitely invest in car seat covers for the girls car seats. And four buy a lily brush it will help get hair,dirt,and crumbs out of the carpets. Hope this helps
I’m sure you did but just in case you missed it in the manual, all forward facing car seats need to be tethered. 😊

I'm going to guess like 11 socks because we all know it's never an even number!😂 I love that you do your projects over a period time because I also rarely have time to do something in one go and it's sooo relatable. The hidden bow stash in the car is so real with daughters! Everytime I take my daughter out of the car I'm like wait weren't you wearing a bow?!
I think the biggest downfall of me having leather seats is that I can't use an upholstery cleaner on it 😭 we have to detail the CRAP out of my car so we can sell it because we can't fit 3 car seats in my current one 😬

I have the Graco one and I can take it apart and back together in 10 minutes. I find it easier to put together than to take it off but I do it once a month because OCD gets the best of me.
We have the car seat cover that you put over the seat before putting the kids car seat in and I definitely recommend! :)

I just watched your video on your other Chanel and since I have no instagram I just want to say I’m so sorry for your loss, and I couldn’t help but be furious at the people in that surgery you went to, like seriously I am very angry 🤬!! I too went through a miscarriage and also had a terrible experience which im not going to even describe ... it’s tough but guess what? Channels like yours helped me at the bad times seeing your girls grow and watching your family vlogs gave me comfort and hope I guess, it’s ok to grieve so take your time, but also don’t let your self go, you have two beautiful girls and nick that need you to be healthy and well. It took me a year to get out of my darkness and it took a toll on my mental health and that’s not right, I pray that the Lord may give you strength to get through this in Jesus name! 😂 thank you for making me feel like I’m not alone in this. I cleaned out my car this morning and found an entire garbage bag’s worth of trash, plus probably 1/2 a load of laundry and 10 dishes. But instead of goldfish crumbs, I had graham cracker crumbs. I definitely didn’t go into quite as much detail as you did with your cleaning, though.

So on both my my greco car seats on the tags that normally get cut off when you get it has the cleaning instructions most of them state to use cold was on a delicate cycle. Then air dry. If I could post a photo of the cleaning instructions off both I would.

This is the 3rd “mom car” video that I’ve watched and I’m shook lol
I’m so glad that I stay home with my kids and have the time/ energy to maintain the cleanliness of our vehicles. When we had our van as our family vehicle it would get pretty dirty. That under the car seat situation is REAL and it happens so fast and unexpectedly. Now that we have a newer vehicle, anything we take in with us, comes out with us (I have 3 toddlers) I vacuum the car at least once a month and I will literally starve my kids before letting them eat in there hahaha kidding! But I definitely try to be more intentional with feeding them at home and not in the car, especially giving them anything that’s too crumby 😖
And I’m only 7:00 min into the video right now, but I just take out my car seats and spray them with the hose. 🙃♥️

Girl, we have a graco car seat and you are not joking about the removal and putting it back on 😂 unfortunately, my daughter has had a few bathroom accidents and throw up incidents so I have definitely had to remove it multiple times. What a pain.

Carissa, I don't have Instagram, so this is the only way to communicate with you! I've been with you from beginning and I want to say so sorry what happened! There's no words to be said, but would love to give you a hug and say there's everything for a reason! I lost my baby at 18 weeks few months ago, the day a found out it was a girl( I have older son). Nobody knows what happened! It was really hard even we didn't plan this pregnancy! You need to know that it happens with so many women and be easy with yourself! I created tradition to remember my baby, I had a balloon in the sky ( it helps you to let it go) and my song which I always sing when she comes to my mind! I have tears in my eyes right now, but it gets better, I promise!!!

Invest in car cleaning/dust cleaning slime. It made my car 10x cleaner and it would be great for all the small crumbs or dirt :)
My son is the same way with socks and shoes, he’s 14 months. So I’ve just decided to throw the socks and shoes on the diaper bag or extra pair in the car to keep.

At 18:57 and I say 33 socks, lol, probably too many but that’s my guess. Also, I totally get you when it comes to exhaustion. I’m almost 36 years old and 26 weeks pregnant with my first child. My worst complaint is my feet though. My feet hurt so bad when I stand on them for too long. Plus they are already really swollen. Doesn’t help that I’m overweight
