This kind of thing is very difficult to accomplish on Nightmare where Steve barely stays in the vent shafts. You usually have to resort to throwing something at the human NPCs like a flare or noise maker to get them to interact. There are however sections where the game expects you to pick your poison, a bunch of NPCs with long range attack or the Xeno.
I was playing on nightmare difficulty the other night when some humans noticed me. Being nightmare I had almost no resources so I smacked the wall with the wrench and hid under a desk. Just as they were entering the room I was in, pretty much cornering me, my savior popped out of the vent behind them 😂
You definitely should play it. It's without doubt one of the best games I've ever played. The sheer terror involved is just awesome. I mean this guy seems to be very experienced and knows exactly how the game mechanics work. Playing it through for the first time was just one of the most intense gaming experiences I've ever had.
Damn! I always tried to lure those guys into this area! But never could. Their default position when entering through the key card door is always so far away. Takes ages for them to arrive at this place. If they arrive in one piece that is. In my case, Don Deathcore usually tore them new ones long before. Which always annoyed me since I wanted to have those guys in one spot when they, shall we say, expire. It's worth looting them because they carry tons of goodies. And nothing terrified me more than hearing them getting mauled in the distance, because I knew that if I wanted the loot, I would have to search for their remains in those dimly lit corridors. Great job on doing this buddy! Best horror game of all times. Oh the memories...
I’m ashamed to say I only play easy or at best normal modes in this game. Are there more complicated human and alien combination encounters in the more tougher modes? If they redo this game, I think have the combination of humans with the alien lurking makes the game more fun. They do this with the Last of Us and it makes it so much more fun especially if you can get them to attack each other.
@@avae5343 It’s a classic inasmuch as KOTOR of Star Wars and The Thing but those games like Alien Isolation are based on dated algorithms and coding. There’s a lot of room for improvement for this evasive based horror modality. The open world environment can be expanded substantially and your decision making through the game can have an impact on the outcome of the game in very creative ways. As you say you can figure out the alien once you get comfortable (with the flares and noise makers) with certain maneuvering and safe hiding spots. The scary modes really are largely about making supplies scarce. That’s no fun. In the movies you never get the impression that the limitation of weapons and supplies are the issue. The issue is that the Alien is super smart for a young critter and large monster. The AI while very decent for its time is very limited as is. Newer versions can get super sophisticated and scary and less predictable with more advanced game play algorithms. My worry is that some video game makers want to just make easy quick buck low budget rip offs like we have seen in some Star Wars and Star Trek games and other franchises.
True, like how the devs made the Xeno able to look under tables, but the human NPC's can't. You would be in more trouble if NPC's were able to look under desks & in lockers with their guns & then all that commotion brings attention to the alien.
I confess to luring the alien to attack other hostile survivors so I can sneak through areas without being noticed, then scavenging their bodies for loot and ammo. It’s pretty scummy in retrospect but, in a survival situation with a near invincible monster drawn to noise and human survivors hindering you instead of helping you, it would be much harder to avoid them. Even on the harder difficulties, you can provoke survivors by popping your head out of cover, then keeping hidden as the xeno mops up. Wait for it to pop back into the vents and then move, move, move!
You kept agrivating it in the same area so it knew you were close by and it was inevitable it would get you in the locker, in the cabinet or under the table or desk. Those are the only 4 choices. LOL. Applaude you over drawing the pains in the butt out of their place in the next sector into the kill zone in whats her face's office. LOL.
Lol the way he/she plays in this game is actually very funny. First he lures humans to their death, then she also becomes sick and tired of her life here and begs the monster to take her too 😂😂😂😂
Do these people only appear in the fame modes above Normal? I can't remember these people being near this area on my playthrough, which was on Normal difficulty
They appear on every single difficulty. It is possible to completely avoid them and while unlikely, it is possible to go past them without even seeing them if you follow the tracker specifically and they don't move from a certain point.
