That means are you telling that lord sastha incarnated as manikanda to the pandya emperor of madurai.Even i had a doubt about it earlier.Because pandala was a branch of pandyan royal family.pandala branch was formed in 14 th century.So I think he incarnated in the same madurai where his parents lord Shiva and goddess Parvati ruled as Sundareswara and Meenakshi.It is also the sacred spot where lord Shiva did 64 miracles.more insterestingly pandya clan was continued from lord Shiva. In sasthapancharatnam lord sastha is mentioned as "pandyeshavamsha thilakam".Such a description points the relation between lord sastha and pandya dynasty.
No......Lord saastha incarnated in many avatar......especially 8 Avatars are celebrated......one of the saastha avatar was swami Ayyappan I.e. Shri Dharma saastha at sabari malai which we are worshipping today having yhe puranic history ( pandhala raja, Mahishi, Puli paal, ) everything comes under that.......Vaavar, Robber udhayanan and Aryangu varman are later history after the muslim invation all are mixed now......(even that Aryangu varman renovated sabari malai temple)
