      I have terrible pterygiums. I've had surgery twice.
      Last night I was watching TV and was amazed that I could see. I often wear 2 pairs of glasses to see the tv, but I was seeing perfectly... All I knew was that I just took CoQ10 and a few other supplements. Wasn't sure why I could suddenly see! So happy to have stumbled upon this.

      @mina-yu4hn my dr has me apply a heating compress to my eyes at night and then massage and wash them with baby shampoo. This uncloggs the oil glands in my eyes that is causing the dryness.. I then use Optase eyedrops... And yes, I still take CoQ10

    I looked up the subject because I’ve been having issues with my eyes, not wanting to focus far away after reading or looking at things up close. I don’t have any diseases of the eye and have been taking fish oil for over a year now. I did start taking CoQ10 about three weeks ago and just recently noticed that my eyes focus well when I look up after reading and watching things up close. I was curious if this had anything to do with the CoQ10 I started taking. I am taking 200mg daily

    Is COQ10 beneficial for keratoconus

    • @JoelHayden
      @JoelHayden  3 года назад +2

      Hey John.... Thanks for commenting. Very good question. There have been studies that show a correlation of Keratoconus to oxidative stress. With CoQ10 a powerfull anti-oxidant, It makes a lot of sense to take it if you have KC. Hope that makes sense.

      @@JoelHayden actually I have been taking coq10 with high dose vitamin D and high dose vitamin b2 for the past one month and in a recent eye exam my left eye which has keratoconus improved from -4 to -3.50 and my right eye which is myopic from from -4 to -3. Don’t know if it’s the effect from the supplements. Also do you have suggestions for any other supplements I should add to improve my sharpness of vision and myopia?

      @@Quirkyfactoids123 - That’s awesome! Both Lutein and Astaxanthin come to mind. Search my videos for Astaxanthin and the Eye. This is great stuff. Keep at it! I also happen to fit a lot of scleral lenses for keratoconus and I will be certain to pass your info along!

      @@JoelHayden Thanks a lot for the suggestion. Do you have any videos on how oxidative stress affects the eyes?
      In my case I certainly believe the keratoconus was a result of oxidative stress caused by the side effects of
      Ciprofloxacin, a Fluoroquinolone antibiotic associated with oxidative stress and various other side effects known together as FQAD - Fluoroquinolones Associated Disability.

      @@Quirkyfactoids123 - Have not heard of FQAD. Looking into it now. For some awesome articles on antioxidants and oxidative stress, check out the articles at Life Extension. LEF.ORG They always have dozens of citations at the end of the article to back up their facts. Hope this helped. Thanks again!
