- I always associated the company Pacsafe with anti theft gear and always wondered how good they are. Now I finally had the chance to test one out.

HOW I REVIEW:
As you might know from my „How I make a buying decision“ video: Rather than just looking at the pros, I like to evaluate the cons or flaws of an item and then evaluate if I can live with them. That is why in my video reviews I concentrate more on the cons of an item rather than going over all the features. Therefore everything shown is just a fraction of all the points that go into the verdict and score of an item.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A QUICKLOOK AND A REVIEW:
A Quicklook usually covers pre-production units or items that I only used for a short period of time. While Reviews cover final items that I have reviewed intensively.
LINKS:
For all my videos I decided not to include links for the products. Everyone is living in different countries and therefore has to deal with different shipping and customs fees. That is why I would advice everyone just to Google the product within their country to find the best deals.
For instance: I live in Germany, It wouldn’t make sense to give you a German link while you might be living in USA or Asia. I hope that is understandable.

I just want one compartment, light weight, and a chest strap or belt. Light weight and simplicity are so much better than heavy backpacks with a million compartments. This backpack is the simplest I've seen so far.
All of your videos are such quality! Really enjoy them
+Brian Bodea thank you very much, Brian 😉✌️
As you said, there is no better theft deterrent than situational awareness. And unless you're a photographer, video Grapher, reporter, you shouldn't be jetting around with high end gear anyway.
+kidbach very true 😉 stay safe, mate
If you want a mobile safe you can lock down and leave alone anywhere for times on end, then get one. I prefer my Pacsafe CS350 to anything else. The slashguard cables are in the straps to prevent anyone from slashing the straps and stealing the bag from your back without you noticing on time. If anyone starts cutting the straps from the thickest parts, odds are, you will notice. Imagine someone with a knife, happily cutting away right next to your face. Might make you suspicious...
Again; if you want a mobile safe, then do get one and don't confuse it with a backpack with safety features.
+BagznBirdz very true. Of course they wouldn't cut the straps next to your face. But since this bag advertises the pop noise lock feature to attach your bag to a stationary item, I still feel like the should have gone all the way with the steel cable. It is obviously a cost saving measurement. And if this feature is just to prevent grab and run theft then you actually wouldn't need a steel cable anyways.
And another thing about the slash guard. A thieve will cut the bottom of the backpack that you are wearing as this is a) not as obvious and b) will help to get the items out of the bag easier due to gravity and the "natural" feeling of the bag pulling down (instead of away from your back). Therefore the slash guard inside the vibe is still kinda useless imho
So what you're basically saying is a bit like someone saying the brake pedal on a car is useless because it doesn't make the car go faster and reverse gear is pointless because the car doesn't move forward when reverse is on.
+BagznBirdz +BagznBirdz no, what I am saying is that If you put a lock into a car door, the lock is pointless if you leave open the window halfway. If you put an expensive steelcable mesh on one side of a bag bit you can actually cut into the side right next to the steel cable, what's the point?
Actually the situation would be more like "leave your car window halfway open while the car door is locked and your pitbull is sitting inside the car".
+BagznBirdz I like the comparison, but tell me: after a thieve cuts the sidewall of this bag (the one without the mesh) what exactly prevents him from taking the stuff inside (I. E. What is the pit bull 😉)
I know this video is a little older, but does anyone know if this bag will fit the new alienware area 51m?
Hey Bo, are you familiar with Lander? I would love to hear your opinion on their tech bags.
No, I haven't heard from them yet. Do you have a link?
Hey sorry for the late reply lander.com
I won't lie . I wanted you to get a knife to test how slash proof it was
Haha ;-)
tried and it doesnt work
Hi, Thanks for the review. For security, I prefer overbuilt features because of an incident my aunt had. While she was traveling in Southeast Asia on a bus and unknowing to her, a thief slashed open her bag. When she got up to get off the bus, all the contents of her bag spilled into the aisle. Sadly and she has told the story countless times, she lost her passport, wallet and cash. Slashed.
Thanks for the review, was thinking about this bag but your con about limited adjustable is making me look for something else. Thanks again.
Great product for Barcelona
Jesus fucking christ I could really use a backpack review right now
crack-pack review xD
How many pick pockets bought this bag and are learning how to exploit the weaknesses
😂 😂 😂 😂

This review is so nice and truthful
Yes, that popnLock thing is a deal breaker for me; looks like it will break open over time just with regular use. The only backpacks with the 360 exomesh integrated are the Ultimatesafe series. Those are basically 360 exomesh bags with shoulder straps attached very ugly, heavy & expensive for my taste. Another solution is to get the Venturesafe X30 which is a backpack compatible with the X15 exomesh bag that can accomodate 15" laptops. You put the X15 bag inside the backpack which has a dedicated hole to get the wire cable out and secure it to an object.
How do you remove grass stains on a backpack??
I'm working on a "How to clean a backpack video" but it is snowy in germany at the moment, so no grass stains. I have never had grass stains on any of my backpacks. I would need to read up on that first.
Dein Englisch hat sich so viel verbessert seit diesem Video! 👍👍
Vielen Dank. Aber den Akzent werde ich wahrscheinlich nie wegbekommen 😂
I think this backpack is meant to prevent theft on the go. Obviously these types of backpack are not meant to be theft proof, but more to discourage thieves to target your bag while you're at a bar or while your walking.
The 360 mesh is pretty cool tho!
Agreed. But it just still feels odd they the bag doesn't seem to be completely thought through. The 360 mesh is great, but I wouldn't recommend to get this bag if it came down just to security features.
Bo Ismono can you make a video of your 'ideal' backpack? :O
Like features that the bag needs to have, features that you would like but they're not strictly essential etc etc?
And maybe you can ask your subscribers to comment what their perfect backpack would be
+Erik Valenzuela that is a very good. Idea. I was actually thinking about such a bag, but I haven't come to a conclusion yet, because I like so many different bags for different situations. But it's a good idea for a video none the less. Thanks. Eric
Bo Ismono haha just hypothetically speaking what the features would be. That would help me too for my project :P
+Erik Valenzuela I will think about something 😉✌️
You're right. Common sense is the best anti-thief method.
😉👍🏻
Can I carry my my 50cm keyboard and 36 cm laptop
Hi Bo - what are you using to hang your art???
+slast85 I just use regular document clips 😉
New Floor! I'm curious if doing a weight comparison with a similarly sized carry-on backpack is fair or if Pacsafe did a good job keeping their Exo-Stuff lightweight.
+Jules-Frederic Nerestant it is lightweight even with the exomesh. But I wouldn't have minded the extra weight if it were 360exomesh
Awesome video Bo!!! Makes me want to buy a bag before having a destination. Haha. As a DJ and you a former Dj. Maybe consider doing a short series on DJ bags. Today’s DJs are different from when you and spun records. In addition to the normal gear now it’s HD, GoPros, DSLR cameras and what not.
+DJ BigDave thanks, Dave. Yeah, a DJ bag might be a good idea. I need to check out djtechtools and see what bags are currently available for DJ equipment. Haven't been there in ages
I love the bag and do find the lack of compartments a bit annoying. But when I travel with a luggage, I rarely go into it. Specially when I have their Vibe Sling bag to carry my travel essentials like chargers and such.
Great review though. Glad you pointed out their weak spots.
As always awesome review.
In future, would be cool to see a CHROME INDUSTRIES backpack if you have an opportunity.
Looking for the next new content :)
Thanks, mate. A Chrome bag is actually currently being reviewed ;-)
Ouh, Nice. Already excited to see that!
+Keep It Real 😉
man man, vielleicht minimal am englisch feilen, bevor man solche videos macht. nohate, aber 2019 ist echt weit unter dem erwartbaren niveau.
kein hate, ich lass dir trotzdem n like da.
Very nice. ' 0 '
nice...
😉✌️
Dang, my fav backpack and i have the camo one and its dope af!! Love everything and even airline people asked what it was!! #PacSafe
+Julian Fuentes the Camo one looks pretty good.
So what do you think about the popNlock thing? How sturdy it is? Would it handle a decent pull from a thief without braking open?
SuperMerlot used it at a Airport and some guy literally pulled the whole seat fixture it was tied too and was very strong!!
Finally a pacsafe review! Thanks Bo!
Thanks, Neil!
This was honestly so helpful. Thanks
+ohmycrayon thank you for watching my video. Cheers, mate 😉 ✌️
Cool. Danke für die schnelle Antwort :D
Hab mir den Rucksack mal bestellt ;)
+drug2 cool. Sag mal bescheid, wie du ihn findest
thanks Bo,good work mate.
+andymck62 thanks, Andy. 😉✌️
Great video. Garbage bag this time. ;)
+Joseph Ko thanks, Joseph. Yes, it was bound to happen. Although I would not call it garbage. It just isn't well thought through unfortunately
Note: please include size H x L x W in inches & metrics for future videos, tia.
Hey,
Thanks for the feedback, but that is basically just information that you can get from the website. I think it's more important that my videos concentrate on details that you can't find online. I hope that is understandable. Cheers
First. Love you Bo!
😃 Thanks!
Bo Ismono hi which watch is that ??
+pedro medina hey Pedro. I wear a steinhart ocean 500 titanium on my left wrist and a fitbit charge 2 on my right 😉
Glad I picked it up on Amazon! It's such a clutch carry-on.
+jamesgomez hey James.
I'm not sure if I understand the term "clutch carry on" correctly. Could you elaborate?
@@Youknowthebo "Clutch" means it comes through when needed most. Ie. Manuel Neuer came through with the clutch save.
Ah ok. Thank you very much for explaining
Isn't that bag heavier due to all the metal strings and mesh than any different 40L backpacks?
Actually not. You would think so, but it is about the same as the AER Travel pack. I guess that might be the reason for leaving out a lot of other features
