I just bought several Watchdog water alarms. Work great and cheap. We’re at home most of the time so I’d be able to handle the issue during an alarm and don’t need an automated system. Additionally, water heater tanks don’t typically catastrophically fail. Yours is in your garage where you would see the typical failure of a leak because it would drain into your garage I would assume?? Much different case of the heater was in the attic
One other tip. You don’t have to put it in vacation mode and mess up your setting. Just switch it over to pilot. I used to do that when I leave the house and realized pilot does the exact same thing
Even if you shut off the water 💧 to the water heater bc of a leak sensor doesn't mean there's not still a tank full of hot water coming out of the water heater to your bathtub...right
@KenTraining I say that bc in your video, you were surprised when your tub was still producing hot water with the valve auto off. Wouldn't the existing hot water still reach the tub
@@imaphxaznative when the auto valve closes all the water is off to the tub. I tested this with the new valve in the video and the water shut off 100%.
We have the same system on our water heater and it has begun to beep. The red light blinks three times and I know it says to do something with the valve but not sure what exactly. Can you help?
After all these years I learned that I had been pronouncing "Taco Bell" wrong. I was hoping your valve was going to turn off the main water to the wholes house. I want to get a valve that will work with wireless sensors like those made by Govee to put at other locations in the house not just at the HWH.

Great job 👏 on your taco 🌮 water valve installation 😅
Install date 2002-2004 😂😂. You and I are a lot alike Ken. I have notes all over my water heater too.
I have cpvc and a a plastic ball valve, I’m scared to even attempt this. Would be nice to have for reassurance

Correct, but I will be alerted of the leak asap, I also installed Govee Leak detection under the water Heater which will alert me via cell phone app.

yes, first question, do you have leak or is this a false alarm?
It’s the valve those things are junk 😂
@@Magasfavoriteson Wow, I thought the quality of the Taco Valves were good.

They have those systems. I have seen them at Govee and Yolink. Check out both.
