One of the better videos out there that I have seen using these tools
Great video. Got straight to the point of what I was looking for. Thanks!
What a great video, thank you
I know this is an older video however I have never seen this kit before and I will be looking for one. I am in Aus. but am sure snap on will have them here too. thanks for such a clear video
Great video. I ordered a 25-piece set from Amazon for a 6mm axle clamp bolt on my ZX-10RR. I hope it works!! Thanks for sharing
How’d it go?
Great to have on hand when your a classic vw beetle mechanic
Great quality video! Very thorough and helpful 👍🏼
Good video. The only thing I'd do differently is use a breaker bar during removal, especially if you encounter a lot of resistance. What you give up in convenience you more than make up for in the additional strength and preventing damage to the ratcheting mechanism. You could, of course, start with the BB, then switch over to a ratchet once the fastener(s) has (have) been loosened.
Thank you. Usually I would use a breaker bar in general but most broken bolts are usually fairly loose considering the head is gone. Anything too seized usually requires more drilling, over sizing and a helicoil.... or my friend Mr. Blowtorch XD
Great content mate! Look forward for more videos like this. 👌
Thank you bro, appreciate it 🙏🏻
Don't forget the center punch or you'll end up like me , with a bunch of off center holes trying to hollow out the bolt
Great, really impressive video bravo....
Thank you very much. I have a bunch of things to edit and upload with lots more stuff like this.
Excellent tip. 👍
Great content, can you post product links? Or list the specs of your tools you using.
Hi, thanks for the feedback. I have now posted a link to the product in the description.
@@MrBoostLee I got a bolt that just spins in place. That I can't get out. It's probably the wrong size. You have any idea on how to get that bolt out? It's not broken by the way
Thank you 😍😍😍
Nice one bolt remove trick's
Good job 🤙
Thanks. I have a bolt that broke off in my Cummins isx.
Quality stuff thanks.
when you using the extractor kit do you use a smaller size one while taking out the broken bolt or it’s size?????!!!!!
Whichever one fits in the deepest and grips the most when you start turning. The bigger the better as it's less likely to break.
Nice work
Thank you 🙏🏻
Have you ever worked on setras?
Boost was the drill bits titanium coated🤔
What snap on drill is that 🙊🙊🙊
They make it look so easy until it is your turn. Then nothing works right
Haha damn right
Does that snap on brand work effectively in terms of strength
Yeah 100% Everything breaks but with experience you can gauge what is worth buying from Snap On and what you're just paying for the name for.
@@MrBoostLee thanks for the info bro
Did you drill it clockwise or counter clockwise?
Clockwise, but a set of anti clockwise drill bits can be a big help in some situations. Not only do they stop you potentially making it tighter, if it is relatively loose they can also draw the broken stud out.
Why are screw extractor kits SO much cheaper than bolt extractors?
Where can we get that set “easy out” & how much?
Check the link in the description bro
Broken SMALL screw trucks needs now
What do you do when the drill bit breaks off in the bolt?
Then the extractor broke off in the bolt .
Cry.... No seriously this happens sometimes. Try to use a very small drill bit next to the broken one. If you can make multiple holes around the broken bit, you can then use some long nose pliers to wiggle it free.
If the extractor breaks off and there is nothing you can do to free it. It basically mean the stud is seized and far to tight to come out this way. You will need to drill out the entire thing. Then either cut a new bigger thread or use a helicoil kit to insert a new thread. I think I'll make a video on this too actually.
Could smaller size bolts be extracted?
Yes absolutely
@@MrBoostLee okay cool. Are threads normally stripped when a broken bolt occurs due to over tightening?
The most important tool for this kind of job is patience. Remember the old motto for carpenters: MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE. The most difficult thing for me to do, is to set aside my male ego, be patient, walk away and THINK, make a PLAN, gather the correct TOOLS.
Also, WD40 is not a lubricant. It is a solvent. If you use it on bicycle chains, you will destroy them. "WD" came from Water Displacement. "40" came from formula no. 40. The best lubricant in this case would be PB Blaster, a PENETRATING LUBRICANT - - or something similar.
