    Thanks for these Sonata videos. Because of them I was able to see the different features and levels. I bought a Sonata SEL with the 2.5 L non-turbo, with back seat A/C vents, sunroof, and heated front seats. I told the salesperson what we wanted ahead of time, got pre-approved for a loan, and set up a test drive. He had the car waiting for us, test drove it, and it checked all the boxes for us. We bought it, in all less than a couple of hours. Your videos showed more details and gave more info than the others. Keep up the good work and thanks!!

    God 30 grand for a mid trim, I got my 2020 sel convenience for 23 and some change. It is absolutely ridiculous how expensive cars are getting. Hell even my other sel plus 2021 only cost around 29 and that was with the tech package.

    • @CarsMadeSimple

      You have to be careful comparing 2020 SEL Convenience to the 2023 models because the packaging changed. The sunroof was a separate option where it is standard for 2023. If you combine everything properly for the 2020 vehicle, the difference is $1,895 for the SEL Convenience and $1,695 for the SEL Plus. I would consider this not out of the ordinary for increases over three model years. The biggest factor is the loss of rebates that totaled thousands back in the day.

    I'm noticing a trend across Hyundai vehicles of features cut in the mid trim that used to be there in years past in mid and even lower trims. I think this is due to the "chip shortage" but things that USED to be standard in mid trims, be it Sonata or Tucson (and I suspect other vehicles), and now missing in those same mid trims are rear parking distance warnings (not to be confused with cross-traffic) and the "auto-dimming rearview mirrors" have all dropped the Homelink feature in all but the Limited trims. These same features were all found in mid-level trims as recently as 2022 but are now gone. I just traded in my 2018 Tucson Value trim (basically an SEL w/Convenience) for a 2023 Tucson Hybrid SEL w/Convenience and noticed both those features were present in my 2018 and now gone in my 2023.

      @@Sodainspace Well, I bought the mid-trim Tucson Hybrid SEL, then installed my own Homelink rear-view mirror... I shouldn't have to do that, but I'm not paying an extra $5,000 for a trim that includes it!

    Tired of all the car manufacturer excuses of raising prices so high. This isn't a $30,000+ car. Small standard boring 4 cylinder cars should NEVER be over 25 grand. 2023 is the worst time to buy a new car. It's the most expensive time in history to buy a car. "Value"????? There is NO SUCH THING this year. Cars full of cheap ipad screens that don't cost a manufacturer nothing convincing you to spend thousands more for an extra inch and your all suckered in. You'd be CRAZY in your head to buy a new car this year.

    I want to say through this message exactly a month ago that I bought my Hyundai sonata sel 2023 and today driving the car it completely lost power when accelerating so I had to stop immediately I put my turn signals after that I turned off the car! I opened the hood and I didn't see any smoke coming out until that part, everything was fine. Then when I tried to start the car, it made a strange noise and a strong smell of gasoline began to come out! try several times and the same result that the car does not start the engine makes strange noise and the smell of gasoline is very strong that I had to get out of the car and leave it off.😢😢😢
    My dealer said is the fuel injection! I hope they fix the car.

    Can we get leather seat in SEL convenience? And how much extra would cost for a red variant?

    • @CarsMadeSimple

      No, you cannot get leather on the SEL convenience. Red paint on the Sonata is a no cost option. Only the white paints are $400 extra cost.

    I have a 2023 Tuscon SEL AWD with the convenience package, i am wondering why the convenience package DOESNT come with the leatherette interior? It sure lots much more upscale than fabric and it seems the option is the same cost for the Sonata and Tuscon

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  Год назад

      Great question. I would believe this is due (in part) to the fact that the Sonata has more trims. The SEL Plus offers the suede and leatherette combo which is an upgrade over that of the SEL Convenience's cloth.

      Like the Tucson, that feature is only found in the most expensive Limited Trim... SEL w/Convenience in both Sonata and Tucson do not have that feature.

    • @CarsMadeSimple

      The key differences of the SEL Plus are the 1.6T engine, suede/leather seats, premium audio system, and 19" wheels. It is about $2,300 difference in price.

      The 1.6T alone is worth the upgrade... that 2.5L NA engine is pretty weak... I guess it's okay if you like slowly merging into traffic at a snails' pace, but that engine is barely adequate... I highly recommend an engine upgrade unless you're okay with the low power of the 2.5L. I'm a big fan of that 1.6T... I've had two in a row, love that engine.
