Hello, I am also in the same process with replacing the floor pans on my 1978 280z, what welder are you using, or do you recommend for someone who's never welded.
MiG for sure. Not a wire welder, but a welder using c25 gas and solid wire. Probably .030, .024 is great but seems like most budget machines won’t run it very well. As for the machine itself. Maybe buy a lightly used machine, you could turn around and sell it for what you have in it. Otherwise look at the primeweld machines online, or if you have a harbor freight near buy the titanium welders are pretty good.
What’s so funny is I saw your truck at morrisville. I just found your channel looking up how to repair my 280z😂 small world ain’t it
Looking good, nice workmanship!
