Had an RD-800 and a DM-800 boulder haulers at the boulder hole. The DM had a V-8 till the goobers let it run out of oil. The RD had a 350 Dog and a 12-speed. I drove a Superliner tri-axle on the road with an E-9 and a 12-speed. It was THE bear. Blessings
Nicely done...! Started right away and drove off without an issue. Would not expect anything less out of a bull dog Mack! That's a lot of truck you got there for that little dump bed...lol Thank you for sharing with us
She got the purr hasn’t she, sounds great. How’s the folks down there in the mountains doing, are they keeping warm and got full tummy’s? Look after one another won’t ye, the govt don’t seem to give a hoot, it comes down to friends and neighbours in the end. Kudos from Newfoundland.
Need more details. Back in the early 70s I was running bucket with some guys doing 95 by the Philly airport and they had those V8 Maxidynes turned up and they would take off like a car when loaded. In their day with that 5 speed they couldn’t be touched 😉
@@carldrexler7883 that’s what Dad says about the other one. It’s a 1971 with a 5 speed. This truck has a two stick 6 speed it’s a 1974. If you haven’t seen it watch my video Where I walk around the yard. I take a little closer look at them.
@@carldrexler7883 I just mentioned the years and transmissions. I can’t remember off hand the model of V8. This truck is a heavier truck than the 71. The 71 was a tractor and had a reyco suspension but they switched it to Mack suspension and made it into a dump. Said it never really did well being it was a light truck. Probably switch it back to a tractor sometime.
First Mack I drove was an early 80's dump truck with a twin stick. The last Mack I drove was a late 80's single stick dump truck. Not gonna lie, twin stick sucks and makes for a harder work day.
That old dog fired up like it was ready to get back to work. It was almost saying as you drove it out of there, "Load me up". I'd love to see a video of the red one it passed being started too if its been parked for a long time. Are you keeping it and putting it back to work? With some TLC I'm betting it'll do just that or it will sell pretty easily for someone who would.
It needs some work on the brakes. The air compressor has been replaced now. We might have it on a job, well that’s the plan anyway. So I’ll definitely get some more of this one if that happens

You got to love them old Macks.
Old Macks are the best! Thanks for the video.

@@maineman11 this truck is a 74 I think.
It’s got a 6 speed twin stick.
There is another 71 with a straight 5 there too.
Both with the V8s
Is this the 325 hp 865 endt or a 375hp 866 endt
It’s the 865
Really cool

The red truck is a DM with a 300 and rock body. Its in a few videos I’ve got. We are using it recently off-road.
And just like that, ready to go back to work. Typical MACK, they never die.
I know it's not an E9. Would you know the model?
The E9 took the place of this one I believe.. we were talking about it then. I’ll try to figure it out and let you know here.
@@AppalachianRust i think it's called a mack-v8 865. If you wanna sell it, lemme know
@@100016 hey it took me a bit to get back to this. It’s an 865-b.
I reckon we’ll hold on to it haha
U spelled champ wrong. It's actually champ.
Haha thanks. Just a miss type and I didn’t catch myself.
I also meant to type 1963 but wrote 1953 for a D12 in a recent video
