For the notepads (any kind), put a sign out that tells the customer what they can use them for, like: for your girlfriends, your babysitter, your coworkers, etc. Or: Appreciation Gifts, Good birthday gifts. Ty Paula!
I love the plate holder idea. Thanks. I agree with a lot of your subscribers about using shelves, etc. to add height. I use the wooden crates sold at craft stores to (1) haul my craft items. Then (2) use those same crates for display.
I agree with everyone's suggestions; especially about adding some height & some kind of price signs or ideas for your items. I do pencil treats too for my craft fair. Last year, a lady bought all 25 I had at my Christmas one; including the cubby holder. Also, don't worry if an item doesn't sell in one event or hardly sells. Sometimes I save those items & its what I use to put together a raffle basket item to donate. Thanks for sharing your projects. They all are cute.🙂
First time here and I liked and subbed. I didn't think of it until you said it so it is important to bring up and you did it in such a polite way. I look forward to more videos 😊
I sold candles at home parties for years and displays set up in levels really looks attractive and easier to shop rather than everything flat. An example? Your plate holders make the notepads stand out more and are attracting. I also make sure I’m using cello bags that fit the items better without all the excess around the item. They present better.
On the pencil thing- take them out of the cello bags and just put holder/pencils in a big round container that looks like a pencil cup holder and put a sign that says, "For your teacher!". thanks Paula!
Thanks for sharing, looking forward to more videos. You have given me many ideas for small treats for small nieces and nephews for Halloween and Christmas.
Thank you for sharing your wins and also what didn’t sell as well - very helpful! My only suggestion would be to give your table some height…try to get some of the things laying flat on your table to be more at eye level. I use decorative crates, tiered trays, and risers to get my items higher off the table into different levels. Good luck with your Fall shows!
I just bough tiered trays! thank you so much for your suggestions! For my next craft fair, I will have a table for Halloween, so I bought a black tree where I will hang my small treat bags. :)
Thank you for this video. I know so much depends on where the festival is located, the number of vendors and how well attended it is - so it will never be a direct correlation to shows we might be doing. BUT it at least gives us some idea of how various items sell. I wish more crafting leaders would do the same. Each year I do just one little craft show and want to do more - but have had health issues or my husband has had them. But hoping next year will be the year I get a few more. My little show is coming up and I have purchased the lip balm tutorial and made 8 with a very good quality lip balm. I am going to make a few more because I think they will do well at my venue. I also do the little mini notes holders and I ALWAYS sell tons of those. I LOVE making them and save my scrapbook paper scraps to have a lot of variety. Anyway - TMI - LOL! You are just wonderful to the crafting community and much appreciated!! ❤
I like all of your items; as well as the beautiful packaging you have done. I've learned not to get discouraged about items that don't sell well (or not at all) at one craft fair. In my experience those same items will sell out at another fair. I also try not to give in to lowering my prices...items eventually sell; depends on the type of crowd, public fair vs church bazaar and season.
thank you for this!!! I am doing a local craft fair next weekend and I am so nervous!!! I was debating on taking some papaw crafts and I think I will do a few. Thanks again!!!
If you are doing Christmas shows I would switch the orange tablecloth to a different color. Orange reminds me of fall not Christmas. I agree with others about having height. Baskets are nice also. When you have everything laying flat, people can see everything but you want them to stay at your booth longer. By putting things in baskets they will sort through your items.
Great observation, I did buy a green one for that but it's kind of dark. Now that I know the difference it makes, I will switch to either red or bright green.

Hi Paula!!!! I love all your videos. I was looking for a video where you added elastic to a composition notebook but you did it with grommets??? I swear that was you?? Did you take the video down?
It was me....but I know a much better way to do that now. Just punch the hole and place the elastic inside the hole, hold the elastic in place and press the eyelet so that when it is pressed in place, it hold the elastic. Then cut the excess of the elastic. In any case, the video o mentioned is: ruclips.net/video/2MfynEgXfgQ/видео.html
Where are your craft fairs & may I ask what the fee is for sellers? I used to sell at craft fairs but the fees they charge to sell now are very high, especially when the coordinators don't provide canopies or tables & it's outdoors. Location is everything when it comes to craft fairs in my opinion. I would not change your prices for the items that did not sell because they are more than fairly priced & packaged beautifully. Good luck at your upcoming craft fairs!
@@vanessamonteith5740 same thing is happening here, Vanessa! The fact that my prices are low, I can’t afford most of them. This one costs $150 and they take 25% of your sales. Still high in terms of percentage, but low compared to the rest of the fairs. That’s why I created one with my sisters and we do well. I encourage people to do the same. Get your crafty friends craft together and do your own.
I did a Christmas craft fayre last year in the uk. Prices were reasonable or so i thought, i had shopping totes at £5 which is about $6.50 and not one was sold. I took home most of my things and havent done one since. There was also cards books children's pack containing a handmade book, a small pack of coloured pencils, an erasa and pencil. Maybe search for another venue/fair? It really depends on where, their marketing, etc. The one I will do next is very high end and they are quite well known, so I can charge much more then others. :)
I gave up doing craft fairs years ago! Too many lookers not enough buyers! Sometimes I think most people go to them as an outing….. All the work of setting up and dismantling is hard work and also discouraging if it doesn’t go well….
Send me an email, It's still here. Funny that the large bags (I didn't show them in the past video) sold really well. The small ones not so much. The coral is available, contact me and I'll send it to you. :)
No signs. It really is not your prices that are an issue. I have noticed starting with myself and very prevalent in younger generations that they will not engage or even ask what something is or how much it costs.
When I used to do 2-day fairs, I bundled things that weren't selling the first day. For example, my Barbie stoles and wraps weren't selling well. I bundled them with my dresses and sold out of both. I printed coupons that offered $0.50 cents off when you bought a dress and a stole/wrap. I let the buyer decide which ones to pair. Good luck at the other sales. I'm looking forward to how you do!
I think your small notebooks and pads did not sell because you can get similar things in the dollar store. The same with the pencils. They appear to be dollar store things to begin with that you decorated.
Good idea about changing color of table cover! Your pencils will sell for Christmas as stocking stuffers!
