    I just finished watching the 29 networking videos included in this section. I just wanna say thank you for your hard work and the way you teach things.. I've learned alot of useful stuff and I'm looking forward into the other sections of your channel.
    Now about this video, nothing against you but if this video should be renamed to "Introduction to the beginning of Skynet".
    I am against incorporating networking to every devices because we have way too many security flaws to deal with nowadays to considere such a thing. Bruteforcing and ddosing is still too much of a threat to gives devices total control over everything.

      haha, truthfully there could be a skynet "nsa" based network for that very soon.

    Since we're so good at securing our networks nothing could go wrong by making all of our appliances and machines IP addressable.

    Astounding technology. However, the Big Brother implications are frightening.

  • @UnicyclistRemi
    @UnicyclistRemi 11 лет назад

    I don't think this would happen all that fast.
    There would be too much security issues for everyday use that need to be solved before even implementing wireless chips.
    Business wise however, there are tons of possibilities.
    Full automation would be possible on a business scale. Your farming example is perfect for this. You could build massive automated farms that send information to a server which automatically grows, controls and harvests the crops.
    The sci-fi geek in me is getting excited.

    hi eli, I had a question, I wanted to get into the internet security business later on. Currently I'm 18 and i'm going to be a freshman in college studying computer science. What role do u think the internet security will play as we move into the Internet of Everything?
    thanks i'm a big fan and enjoys all of ur videos.

    Hi, Eli I'am big fan of you and have few questions for you. Does this mean that if all "SMART THINGS" will have routable IPv6 and can't be firewall'ed and secured? Like if you want to know what your sneaker thingy show you look at label on it which will tell it's IP ant you then put it in server or whatever? This mean that hackers can find your sneaker IP ant they potentialy will know where you run and how much and so on.. P.S. I'am from non english speaking country.

    Got it wrong that IoE is bi direction and IoT is one direction. IoT can also do bi-direction or interactive. Basically IoT = networked connection of physical devices, while IoE = Networked connection of people, process, data and things. Thus IoT is a subset of IoE.

    Eli, I have to be honest, you are kind of my role model. I REALLY enjoyed all of your networking videos. However, I did start liking you a little less when you introduced, what I consider, too much politics into this class lecture. To have you look with disdain at people who may be opposed to pesticides as "tree huggers" and portray them as sort of irrational was disappointing to me as a student wanting to learn about networking/IT. There are many good reasons to look askance at pesticides, and the reasons are based in science. Science, computers, logic, I don't know these kind of go together for me, as an analytical person. I realize that you were having a bit of fun with the issue, but to me it kind of came a little too close to stereotyping. Hope I'm not being too hard on you :) And I will still enjoy your classes, but hope that they stay in the neutral zone. (And, I reeeeeeally hope you're not one of those who thinks global warming is all an elaborate hoax. If I see that in the next "Hacking DNS" video, well, I might just have
    to like you a little less.)
