Does the radio antenna work well? i found one adapter by (SCOSCHE VW3A4B) that is amplified and it brings up a question. I was wondering how well your AM/FM works and if it struggles to pick up signal more than usual? I'm also not completely sure that adapter is for this radio anyways

How easy is it to remove the radio after an install with this double din dash unit? How do you do it?

Putting the same set up in right now and am wondering the same thing did you figure it out ?
@@zaya.916 Yes I did, the grounds are considered mute wires. I taped them and the red turn key power wire together and left them. Hope this helps.

No, I was not able to retain the steering volume control with this adapter.

It worked with the monsoon amp, no separate wiring.
Thanks! And have you had any issues with the battery running out? I have understood that the Monsoon amp wouldn't know when to turn off with a aftermarket Head unit hence draining the battery.
Nah, the amp never drained my battery. To make the aftermarket radio turn off automatically, check out my other video in the description.

Hey, can you help me figure out something I have a factory radio I checked all my fuses and they’re good and I play sound, and I put it on low volume or high volume and my radio like cutting it in and out on the audio but not power the audio will cut in and out every 3-4secs

Nah, it stays in place.

Steering wheel buttons will not work with this harness. You need to get the harness that's made to retain the button functions.
Do you think the Passat can fit a dual electronic 7" double din?
Yes, I think it will fit.

It depends on what harness you use. The harness that I used in the video did not maintain the steering wheel controls. check enfigcarstereo.com for a harness that will let you keep the controls,

No, the radio stays in place when I press buttons.

Yes, this is a double din radio. As long as the car radio slot is a double din.
When I installed mine somehow now the cruise-control don't work or the volume on the steering wheel any help from anyone would be great.
how did you wire so its not drawing constant power?
As long as you car is on while your listening to music there's no reason to worry about power
will this setup work with a bhw car?
The BHW diesel? the only differince is this car in the video is a GLX and the TDI only came as GLS or GL, with the optional monsoon system on the GLS. I have a GLS TDI with a non-monsoon system and according to every photo and website I have seen, the adapter will be the same, it just has less pins on it because it is not the monsoon. the setup will be the exact same on a non-monsoon system, as long as it is still a double din (the size of head unit in the video) in your car.

If you want the radio to turn off when you remove the key, you gotta do an extra step. Check the link in the description to see the other video

Hey, from my understanding that's normal oem sound the car makes when the key is inserted. Maybe your speaker that makes the sound is bad? Did you check all the fuses?

I have an 01 passat (face-lift one) and after putting aftermarket radio in, the car is always dead after 2 days if I dont drive it. Do you know the fix for this?
The radio might still be on when you turn off the car. Check the link in the description, about how to make the radio turn off when you remove the key.

the only reason I watched your video is to make sense of the wire colors.. that snap was not helpful at all. can you explain what wires went where? there are three brown wires called mute.. where do they go??!?

Did you disconnect the battery prior to doing the install?
I did not disconnect the battery prior to the install. However, I would advise to disconnect the battery if it makes you more comfortable with the install.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds Thanks, but I ran into another issue. Keys that I ordered didn't work. I was unable to remove the system and one of the keys is stuck. You made it look easy, hasn't gone smooth for me at all!!
@@darrjon67oh okay, did you order they keys from the link in the description? If you install the keys correctly sometimes they do get stuck, which is fine. They will be easy to remove once the radio is out.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds Ordered the recommended keys, I think the clips must be broken. Radio still won't come out, frustrated!!
