Don't care what anyone says Threshold piss all over Dream Theater with far more quality songs and albums in their discography, it's not even a contest at this point.
You know, that was a perfect answer. I have loved DT for the past 17 years or so, since I found them. But the truth is that the CONSISTENCY of bands like Threshold and Fates Warning is the amazing thing that drew me towards those two. The last few DT records sound the same and I am not able to discern which song comes from which album, which was totally not the case during the Portnoy-era.
@@al3k0 I'll have to revisit some current DT stuff and give them another go but yes the inconsistency, and just that feeling like you got individuals just trying to show off their mastery of their craft, I get that they are great musicians but not necessarily a great band. Have been to both DT and Threshold gigs and honestly Threshold live are something absolutely incredible And didn't quite get the same buzz watching DT.
