Its very unfortunate we Indians didn't supported Tata Nano, it was a great product at a outstanding pricing. If we would have shown some interest in it till date Tata would have definitely turned it into a awesome product as of now.

My first car was a Nano 10 years back and even now owning an AMT Nano for city run as a secondary car. Always preferred to drive it than my sedan due to its fun to drive nature and maintenance cost on par with TVS Scooty.

This Ami is aimed at making the teenagers interested in driving and to give them an opportunity to experience car and roads before getting their license. Ami is aimed at the 16-20 age demography. India too had such a car, the Nano. But the tag- "the cheapest car" in the world ruined Nano. TBH, Nano is best suited for the city conditions. An electric motor with speed limited to 45kmph in a Nano would have helped the young adults to experience and learn about roads before actually buying a new car.

Nano could have been the first car for someone who is 19years old. Nano could have been a good transition car for someone who wishes to move from ICE to complete electric Vehicles but doesn't wish to completely avoid the ICE cars. The maximum speed limit of the car could have been limited at 50kmph. The lack of quality in certain places like the AMI will help Nano to cut short it's buying price. And to be honest, not every car on the road is safe and secure. The "Safest" Nexons and Altrozs will not guarantee you 100% safety. There will always be a catch. I was not proposing Nano for highway uses. Nano had a good market. The only thing that killed Nano is the marketing term "cheapest" car in India. Yeah, Nano didn't have the best engine, but for the purposes that I mentioned above, the not so powerful engine was apt. Going forward, we will be forced to look for a compact car because of many reasons.

Tata nano was a great product. There were problems which Nano faced. One was from Tata itself that they marketed as cheapest car rather than most driver friendly car in the city. Second from the public who thought they would loose their status by purchasing Nano.

This is what Rattan Tata brought to India in the shape on Nano and it’s a cool super small car to own for city reason I can say this is because I own one past 5 years use it randomly when I have to go into old city of my town logically it works well and yes an Electric Nano would make an impact with improved quality
I live in the hills where 30% gradient is common. I have a bolero, a WagonR, a gypsy , M800 and a Nano twist. My preferred drive is the Nano even for soft off roading and long distance. Ground clearance is better than wagonR and M800 and can easily be lifted by 2 to 4 persons and placed in a better line if stuck in the mud- hence my choice of vehicle for semi offroads. As a 4 sitters, cabin space is as large as my wagonR but feels much roomier than my sister's brezza (my sister's word not mine). Seat thigh support better than my bolero(my wife's comment). Feels much airy(my daughter). Cruises comfortably at 80kmph on the plains. And on the winding, narrow hill roads where it is impossible for any cars to speed beyond 55kmph, the nano can over take any other cars. Best AC (but needs to be switched off on climbs. Strains the engine). Perhaps Safer than M800 (has speed limiter and crumble zone in the front. Just should not roll off the hills. Lol). Nano twist cabin looks decent and features are better than Alto/m800 (handsfree phone interface, remote cabin light with soft dimmer) Openable rear door. Spare parts dirt cheap. Very responsive power steering- and awesome turning radius. Zippy and nippy to drive and park in busy market areas. Negatives are: refuses to climb with new engine(very embarassing). After breaking in the car and with just 2 occupants it climbs even extreme incline. Fuel economy in the plains is good but for hills, it is less than WagonR. Boot space is less fits only two backpacks. And, contrary to the common notion, my Twist was not cheap. it was costlier than the Alto800 when I bought it(over 3Lakhs). Reading the negative feedbacks on Nano, I feel that these people may have never driven a Nano or, the car is not right for the big cities in the plains. A youngman parked his brand new tata harrier besides my Nano and was eyeballing it. He had never seen an hatch openable nano. He told me he had a Nano and he loved it so much that he bought another one and uses on his farm as small errands work horse. He said he owns several car but none like the nano. For rural areas and small towns especially hill towns like ours the car is just magic. My regret is not buying another one before it ceased production.

Every one comparing this to Tata Nano...Nano was classified as a car this is an electric quadricycle ,the comparable vehicle in India is the Bajaj Qute, though the qute is a petrol powered vehicle.
People did the same thing when nano was launched. People were like it is better to get a maruti 800. We Indians do not appreciate new technologies thats why we are always delayed by 20-30 years in every sector

Every one comparing this to Tata Nano...Nano was classified as a car this is an electric quadricycle ,the comparable vehicle in India is the Bajaj Qute, though the qute is a petrol powered vehicle.
People did the same thing when nano was launched. People were like it is better to get a maruti 800. We Indians do not appreciate new technologies thats why we are always delayed by 20-30 years in every sector

Phir wahi bakchodi. Hum indians ki aadat hai kisi bhi chiz ko kisi bhi chiz se compare karne ki. Nano ke time pe maruti 800 ka rona ro rahe they... koi electric cycle le le to bolte hai isse better scooty le leta. Scooty lelo koi mehengi to bolenge isse better bike le leta. Bike lelo to bolenge isse to iphone le leta. Bhai ye quadrcycle hai.. car se kyu compare kr rahe ho? Nano bhi dusre logo ke liye tha, ye dusro ke piye hai. Do alag alag chizo ko jodo mat

Nano twist last model cost me around 2.64 lakhs .. wasn't cheap and it's still like new. Allready done 6 years and 97000 km.still love Nano car
