Awesome video and thank you very much for sharing i have a 10 ft myself that I purchased about seven months ago with a motor for a great deal, have never made the time to put it in the water or even looked at it to the point I was going to sell it but I found your videos and you gave me a good reason to keep it,here in Miami Florida we got so much fresh and salt water to fish that is crazy so I am going to make me a little fishing machine so thank you very much again and please keep the videos and ideas coming...
You are welcome, and Thanks for watching! Oh yeah...a 10 foot jon boat would be great in a lot of those canals down there! When I watch videos of guys fishing down there for peacock bass, and largemouth, I always think, "my boat would be great in those tight spots". Fishing down there is definitely on my bucket list of places to fish in the US.
Sorry about that. The deck as shown at the start of the video, floating in the creek, just drops right into that opening. Feel free to watch any of my videos that I'm out on the boat, and you can see that it is a functional construction. Thanks for watching!
Considering this now for my build. I'm towing a 1648 with a Jetta so keeping weight to a minimum is a primary concern. What did you use for the deck surface?
Is your boat a 3ft to 4ft wide too and how do u walk around the boat without it taking water? I weigh 178 lbs and the boat is close to taking water in the rear when i am sitting
It isn't the most stable fishing boat. Lol. But I don't take on water while fishing; I do stay off the water if there is a lot of wind or waves. But for fishing protected area in creek, creek mouths or bays, it does well. To get from the front to the back I just sit on the cooler/live well/seat (lol) and spin around and get in the back.
I just made my own clips from a piece of door hinge i had. Lol. And that is the only means, other than a snug fit, "mounting" the foam. A tight fit is important
Question could you please post a link on that exact foam from where you got it,sorry for the bother only if is possible for you to do I was checking Lowe's website here in Miami Florida and I get all types and brand that does not look like yours God bless...
Yeah, I can't figure out what is what on their website, but it is just a 1 inch thick, by 4 feet, by 8 feet rigid styrofoam board. It is probably easier to just go to the store and look for it...if you're able to get out with the current social distancing recommendations. Sorry I couldn't find a specific link.
I've been watching builds and I think that foam board makes the most sense

Man I don’t know how you don’t have more views on your videos. I love your style!
Thanks for the comment! I just do the videos for fun, so I probably don't upload enough videos for people to notice. But thank you for watching.
Good idea but you should have shown the full deck installed.

I used corrugated plastic

Thanks i have a boat like urs and im trying to set up a fishing rig for mine. Thanks for the tip.
How are you attaching the foam to the aluminum? Just a snug fit?
I see you've mentioned the clips... Can you give me a link to what type of clips you've used? Thanks.
