- American Airlines Trip Report flying from Los Angeles to New York onboard one of the American Airlines Airbus A321Neo on a perfect spring morning all across the US.
A really amazing and comfortable flight from Los Angeles to New York onboard the American Airlines A321 Transcontinental. Although the flight was fully booked and I was traveling on the most basic economy fare, I found the seats and cabin really comfortable. Every seat was equipped with a personal screen and sockets.
About the flight itself, it was amazing. And I think amazing is not enough to describe all that we've seen. We took off from Los Angeles towards the Pacific Ocean and made a left 180° turn surrounding Los Angeles city. The views of the port and the downtown itself were great. After that, we flew towards Nevada, enjoying some perfect views of Victorville airport, the Nevada desert, and Las Vegas.
And here is where the most impressive part of this flight comes in and which explains the title of this video: about 2 hours before the flight I received a message from American Airlines offering me $500 for not taking that flight and changing to another one. Usually, this happens when there is overbooking and they offer it to passengers who have paid less for their ticket, because the difference makes them more likely to accept it.
We entered Utah then, flying over the Bryce Canyon park and the San Rafael Reef, just before flying over the Moab desert. Then we flew over the Rocky Mountains, encountering some turbulence associated with the high clouds. The views of Denver were also really beautiful. After 2h of non-stop recording, we found some high clouds over Nebraska and Kansas, so I took a little nap. I put the alarm to wake up every 15min, just in case something should be recorded ;P
The last 2 hours of the flight were with a mix of clear and cloudy skies. The views of Chicago and Michigan Lake were really lovely. From there we flew towards Detroit, Cleveland, and, finally, New York.
About the catering service, American Airline's really impressed me on this flight. I was expecting the same is the other airlines: a biscuit and a drink. But the reality is that they served us a choice of 3 snacks. In my case, I went for the Cheese & Fruit. It was delicious, both the grapes and the cheese.
2 hours before landing I went to the back galley to ask for another drink and they even asked me if wanted also another meal. Perfect service. Amazing crew.
Now it is your turn!
Have you ever flown with American Airlines? How was the experience? Which route? Which aircraft? Have you ever been in Los Angeles? Maybe in New York? What do you think about the American Airlines experience?

you are very lucky only 500 dollars
I love planes do you?
Thanks for all the superb views and for naming all the places seen; it makes such a difference to my appreciation of your excellent work.
Nice aviation footage.
It's a very nice report THANKS
very nacy views, i love this.
Great video and the scenery was amazing. Yes was travelling BA to Bangalore in business once and was offered $1000 to go the next day - I refused as was attending a conference and was giving a lecture when I got to the lounge they said my seat had been changed, felt silly when I complained and was told they had upgraded me to first. Absolutely agree with the comments below you must try Phillipine airlines such a friendly airline
beautiful scenery!! I have made the drive from Los Angeles to Denver several times, even more beautiful up close!! thank you for sharing!
Wow. That ws nice.
I loved the continuous shot from jetway all the way to the seat.
jeje Muchas gracias, Emilio! :)
Feliz semana!!
So lucky to have all clear skies. 😃I’m glad you didn’t take those 500 to miss this one. Thank you for sharing this nice video.

Hopefully it will be an epic one ;P
Beautiful video 😻✈️
Beautiful video ❤❤ Nicely done 👌
Saludos y buenos vuelos.
Nicely done. I feel like I just flew on that plane from LA. Thank you for using the engine sound❤
Love it !!!! I have flown many times from California USA to Costa Rica 🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷my native country! Love the AA service 3 times coffee drinks 🥤 and etc love if
I like the new AA livery very much and it's a very good trip report. Nice that you can still choose one breakfast in the US.
Good thing you got the pre-Oasis seats
I loved this video. Possibly the best trip report youtuber ever! I also wanted to ask if you could fly from bogota (BOG) to London (LHR) on a Avianca 787-8. Anyway thank you and bye!
Amo tus videos 😍.
Saludos cordiales desde Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 🦘
Safe trip my friend take care stay safe have a wonderful blessing weekend Merci
Thanks, Azamy! :)
The video and visuals were excellent. Enjoyed your descriptions and appreciate your extra effort to point out the milestones
However the catering looked quite disappointing for a flight like this
Keep up the good work
Makes you wonder - if you were an aviation nerd and knew which flights oversold the most itd make sense to book yourself on those JUST SO you could take advantage of such a deal
LETS GOOOO
Hope you've enjoyed it! ✈️✈️
@@OnBoardHD I did😁🛩✈️
Wow view is amazing bro loving it , on the offer from AA that never happen to me , I be flying with them next year AA from Lhr to Florida stopping at Chicago n Charlotte then fort Laudaledale flyin* with Boeing 787 never done then before
Jamais!😄☕🥛 . Parabéns pelo trabalho!
$500 just to switch to another flight was incredible. Still, I wouldn't have taken this offer even if I hadn't had another flight after this flight if I were you.
If I wouldn't have a connecting flight I could consider it... but only if the next flight would be on window seat, which is something that probably wouldn't happen :)
I was told that this overbooking money is very commonly used. When I went to the US there was even an auction of offers. For my flight, GRU-JFK offers started at 100 dollars. We had until the last minute before getting on the plane to accept the best offer. It also happened with my flight MIA-GRU. I said to the AA people in MIA that if the money were enough to pay for a hotel and meals, I'd do that, but the maximum was 250!
You can do an onBoardHD with Aegean Airlines from Athens to London or to Cairo. These flights operated by an Airbus A321neo.
Overbooked flights are common on U.S. Domestic routes, especially during the travel rush.
Many years ago when flying from Toronto to London Heathrow with BA I was offered a sum of money, a free return flight from the UK to Canada and an overnight stay in a hotel if I was willing to be bumped from the flight I was about to take. On refection it certainly was a great deal which I didn't take. Instead I accepted an upgrade to Business Class - silly me!
Awesome viewing one thing why u didn’t take offer?
When AA makes that offer in the app they're just testing the possibility. Bumps for overbooking don't normally happen until the gate. (And if they were truly overbooked you'd have heard about it while at the gate.)
Fantastic video but I'd like to point out that in the description you said you flew on an A321neo, but judging from the shot at 22:43 it appears to be a ceo?
$500 credit to change flights is very tempting!
I flew on AA A-321 between DFW and Sea-Tac and that plane was moving. Only 3 1/2 hours.
I might fly on it again before the end of the year... :)
think you mean the a321ceo not neo with American
How come do you always pick the back row seats?
I got offered next flight and 250 dollars coupons from SFO to Lax in 1999
THAT PLANE IS OLDER THAN ME
Was offered £300 ($381) from British Airways to switch my flight from Heathrow to San Francisco to a later day. I only got this after I checked in and got through security at terminal five. Since they already had my bags, I said no.
Is that an a321 lr ? Because the seat configuration is 3-3 and the a321neo is 2-3
Greetings from Italy! A question: What app do you use for the map showing the departing and arrival city?
It is iMovie yep ✈️
@@OnBoardHD Thanks!
do they serve meals on JFK-LAX I mean is it included on the price of ticket and when was this flight?
American is enormous big. more then 1600 plane's
I was surprised they used narrow-body aircraft for transcontinental flights.
22:02 deboarding
Correction that's a A320ceo not A321neo Alaska Airlines
How fast goes the plane on ground speed?
Saludos Bro Desde Nicaragua Quiero Que Vengas A Mi País El 30 De Noviembre Con American
Ojalá poder visitar centro y sur América pronto! :)
@onboardhd
Next jfk to los angels??
Delta paid me 800 for overbooking a flight from cedar rapids to Atlanta
Have you ever been to Newcastle airport?
Not for now 😕
Ok
2:04 that’s an a320 not an a321
The smart idea is: take the $500
And take a cheaper flight and gain profit
AA today in DFW, "hey everybody, we'll book you on a later flight for free if you agree to not catch your earlier flight!"
wow! That's not good at all...
